I am using Lineage OS 14.1 Unofficial on my YU Yuphoria. Your app worked like a charm but the thing is that I am not getting that voice train pop up again and again like other users reporting. Well whatever the reason is I am happy with this app but I wish I could help other users in removing that pop up. May be I am just lucky I didn't even installed that Chop Assistant App.
Really nice app! I chose the New Method because I had the newest Google app. After it changed the build.prop file, I went to check if I saw the text it would add, because it didn't work. I found this: ro.opa.eligible_device=truedebug.sf.hw=1 I don't know if it is supposed to be there, or is there something wrong? Please reply. Edit: Yesterday I installed Android Tweaker 2 and selected auto tweaker and then battery. Seems like the app did something to the text I already had (it worked before) in build.prop. I changed what possibly Android Tweaker 2 did to what your app was supposed to. And now it is working perfectly fine ππ Keep up the good work!πππππ©βπ»
It worked, that's the bottom line. After trying to fiddle with the build.prop file manually and soft bricking my device I gave this a go and was successful. Nicely laid out app. Simple. Good explanations/instructions. This is on a nexus 6, android 7.1.1 running custom ROM Nitrogen OS
Hey there thanks for the app. I've loaded Google assistant on my lineage ROM. When I first attempted to run it the initial screen couldn't connect to the server so I downloaded and enabled the chop assistant. Enabled the service. Wasn't able to get ok Google on each screen. Since this I've removed chop service and ok Google works on every screen. Thanks.
This app wirked perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy s7 (sm-g930f). It is easy to use and in the only part which isn't automated, the app provides you very clear and easy to follow instructions for the 3 steps. I appreciate the clarity within the app and how it explains (in detail) what it is doing. I can not recommend it enough! APP DEV: Thanks for making this free to use. It was great to be able to install a free program and check that it worked rather than buying an app just to find out it wouldnt work. This app definitely deserves more support :) You have a donation from me :)
This app is great! At first it didn't work as when I held the home buttons, nothing happened, I googled it and you have to install the Google app as a system app. I used Link2SD to do that (super easy with it to convert to system app) and bam, after a restart, the assistant worked great. Maybe you should make a note in the "Didn't work" section and say you need to install the Google app as a system app (I recommend Link2SD it's super easy, just tap on the app, press the dots in the corner, tap convert and reboot your device.) I have a OnePlus one running CM 14 and I recommend it if your rooted. I have my new OnePlus 3 coming and will definitely be doing this to it as well.
Great app Shane! I have just one niggle which is a constant irritant - I just cannot get my GA to unlock my phone using 'Ok Google' command! I've tried retraining it several times but to no effect. Was browsing through XDA and found this issue persistent with many other Nexus users who have used the build.prop method. While Pixel users dont seem to have such an issue. Please help! Note-Used Legacy method as suggested by app.
Immediately after using this utility on my OnePlus 2, everything Google related crashes all the time. Even after restoring the build.prop backup, the Google App and my browser can't display anything without crashing. At first I thought this was an issue with Webview, but clearing the cache for everything Google related hasn't helped. I may have to reflash LineageOS. I'm not leaving a bad review though, because it was my fault for ignoring the warnings that stated it was for Nexus devices only.
Thank you very much its work ππ I can't explain you how many YouTube videos I watched to active Google assistant but I was failed.. and this app work properly thank you very much againπ... my device Samsung a3 2016
Well, it worked on my nougat s7 edge fine.I could do it without this app. But it simple and easy. Really nice work
I installed it,but It didn't work. I am using official lineage os 14.1 on my YU Yureka . Cleared Google app data and rebootedβ the phone but didn't help at all. Edit 1: Thanks for replying so fastπ. I am using Latest Beta version of Google app 6.16.31.21 . Language is set to English(US). And Yes I chose the New method as suggested. As I am using custom ROM, I had to install gapps package . I am using pico version of gapps package . So Google app was not included in that version. I had to install it from Play store. Let me know if there is any option to get the google assistant. Final edit : well the problem was I installed pico version of gapps. I INSTALLED mini version of gappsβ where Google app was preinstalled. So now I am using Google Assistant without any error. Not leaving any bad ratings. π
At first I installed the app on my Galaxy trend plus running cm14.1 I was actually expecting a bootloop when I rebooted but i was surprised to see the Google Assistant working flawlessly,I was shocked.nice app,, But after some time I couldn't find the Assistant settings and Google Assistant stopped working
Who made this i love him or her and appericiate because google assistant did not work in my mobile (a3 2016),but now due to this app it works and i do fun with it
You guys are amazing. You can easily put the Moto G4 running stock nougat on the list of compatible devices. I had no problems with it. Thanks!
I tried with Nexus 7 (2012) Running Lineage Os 14.1 it recommended Legacy Method But It Said It Won't Work or At Least May Not Work with devices with custom ROMs or Mods. Please Help Me.
"Denied! It seems you have denied the root request... " App didnt ask for root permission! :( EDIT After much fiddling it now works. Had to update SuperSU after installing LinearOS; SuperSU somehow stopped working properly.
I am using cm 14.1 in my moto e Your app worked well..and the google assistant is enabled in my device.. Its working pretty well.
Ha Ha Awesome! I was able to dust off an old Galaxy S3, install a custom ROM to get me to N 7.1.1 and now with this app, assistant works perfectly.
Oneplus 3T -- Worked flawlessly with new install method. Just followed the guidelines (clearing cache, rebooting, etc) and only took a few minutes to complete.
Awesome. She works, but OK Google does not work at all, I always have to enter Assistant r app to talk to her. My system language is set to English.
New method worked perfectly on OnePlus 3 running OOS ob11 7.0. Cleared app data, rebooted, and had to change long press action to appropriate choice (search assistant).
Works like a charm on Nexus 6 with Cyanogenmod 14.1. Also flawless functionality on Nexus 6P with LineageOS 14.1. Amazing work there.
Amazing does exactly what it's meant to do so. I used the legacy method which the app suggested also I'm running 7.1.1
I wish every app could do what it says as well as this one. Thanks to Get Assistant I now have Google Assistant running great on an old touchscreen laptop/tablet convertible running Android-x86 Nougat. I set it up as a Chromecast remote to launch android video apps. Thanks to Mr. Smiskol. I can now sit across the room and use my voice to control my TVs. Thanks man!!
Running LineageOS on my OnePlus 2, worked absolutely perfect, no issues whatsoever. Great app, and thanks.
Works perfectly on rooted S7 edge using new method.. thanks alot Great app
I got tired of waiting for the official release. The app worked flawlessly and going through the process was a breeze. I also don't get the 'retrain voice model' pop-up, marvelous! Too bad it will be otiose in a matter of days/weeks. Nevertheless thanks a lot for the app!
