First trip was fantastic. Then we happened to use it a second time, and came into cancelations with 3 cars within 30 min and the first as we were on our way to the car. We were sick in the drive way with no vehicle! But Getaround was very compromising and helpful. The only thing I could say so far about it that it needs to improve is the fact of when I finally got a vehicle during my second trip, 4th car in.. it happened to be a car that was very dangerous to drive, and there was no resolve!
Absolutely worse than terrible! Customer service speaks barely intelligible English I was billed $212 for a car that had no ignition key I called customer service they booked me another car in New Jersey. Mind you I'm in the Bronx so that would have added $32 in tolls so they canceled that and then tried to find me something close by but that wouldn't go through because their instant refund was not instant I still don't have my money and now I don't have a car and I'm stuck. THE ABSOLUTE WORST !
App has changed. After selecting a vehicle, you cannot see additional photos of cars, or read reviews of the cars. Also suddenly cannot reserve more than a month in advance, even though I just did this a week ago. Why??? Previous problem (not fixed?): They have completely eliminated any form of customer service. I can no longer contact them about incorrect charges to my card. This is pretty much fraud.
Makes no sense, you have a reservation fee and a booking fee, then ontop of that it's ten dollars an hr. Better off going to enterprise, I believe it comes out cheaper, for the same car it was 126 for one whole day. Here it's 80 on top of the fees for 8 hrs, hmm do the math,
Wonderfull any issue and customer service is great.fast to respond and polite. The map said the car was 5 miles away but really the car was downtown 27 miles away. But simple and convenient,and we rented again from get around for my son's prom and all was perfect. Thanks for a great experience. Christi D.
Beware when booking trips. The app adjusted my pick up and drop off time after selecting it and once I booked my trip it was off by 2 hours. After the booking was confirmed it was showing my time that I wanted in the app but when I went into the booking it showed a different time. I wrote customer service to ask them to adjust it, and they responded telling me the system shows different. They told me I could cancel and rebook but they wouldn't suggest it because I would still pay a booking fee.
This app is fraud. Reserved a vehicle Was still charged the amount and then some. Someone canceled appointment at 4am in the morning. I get ready to go get the vehicle and contact the guy to ask where is the vehicle and he says that it was canceled. They still charged me $250 and still owe me $150 refund. Do Not Use This App. There is no customer service number. There's no one to talk to. Only by email.
Customer Service reps are top notch. Renting a vehicle without ever speaking to anyone experience was so cool! The app and experience is...Easy. Quick. Immediate. Missions always accomplished thanks to Getaround. I've just returned my 3rd car rental this month. Lovin you Getaround.
It was great and affordable, the car ran smoothly and was easy to pick and drop. Definitely would pick this app off rental car if I can't get one in a reasonable time frame
The first car had a broken sunroof and instead of get around customer service helping me, they basically told me to return the car and book another car and spend more $100s on another car. And not get a refund for having a car with unsafe conditions that wasn't my fault. My second time renting a car, the car was covered in ants upon arrival, I had to spend my personal money to clean and get rid of the ants, then during my trip, also got a flat tire and the host not customer service was helpful.
These people are starting to scam people and apply bogus charges to your bank account due to their app and computer system not working properly . I had a somewhat ok rental history with them until today. The app nor their system functioned properly and the charged me for gas claiming that I failed to refuel; That is a flat out lie. I got the car on 64% and returned it to 96%...basically a full tank. They're not resolving the issue and I'm not the only one.
DONT USE THIS APP...Horrible cars both times i rented the brakes were very bad, the check engine light was on, and dirty with dog hairs... The car i rented wasnt working they canceled it refunded me and still charged my credit card for the car that was messed up wont refund me or close my account... I REPEAT HORRIBLE APP DONT RECOMMEND
Had one problem but easy resolution. If you new to the app you may have trouble like I did. Aside from that the process is great. Response times are priceless. No bad experience really.
I have started the process of listing my vehicle on this platform. 2 weeks gave gone by and no one from customer service had contacted me to install the connect drive system. How am I suppose to use the platform at this point? Hopefully they can correct this hiccup!
The customer service is amazing!! I urgently needed a car and had to rush the verification process. They helped me every step of the way and were very kind the whole time. The app works great and there's a ton of options. More affordable than a rental car in most cases. Highly recommend!!
Update. Will never depend on again Booked car over a month in advance to ensure it would be available, only for it to be canceled as I was landing in Miami coming from Atlanta. Had to use unexpected money from trip expenses to cover another car and you guessed it wait several days for the refund on a booking from over a month ago. I will never depend on this app again.
UPDATE 1/26/21: Now the app is completely unusable. My account page is a blank white screen, cant make any edits, or rent cars. Tried signing on another device and it won't get past the log in screen. Tried to rent and it's telling me to add a payment method when there's already one on my account. Clearly it's a server issue on their end, but support will take days to tell you to "reinstall the app". This app/service is HORRIBLE and actually made me consider ZipCar again...🤦🏽♂️
Absolutely a rip off stay away unless you want to get changed for all kinds of changes and not be able to talk to a live person no way to connect anyone by phone the worst app ever money pit especially the fees your better off going to a in person rental car company I would not even give it one star but had to in order to post
In a rental now. It was suppose to 98.11 a day. Went to renew for another day its 173.00. I called they told me their prices change based on demand. I feel this is unfair. Once you are in a car the price should stay the same.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. The cars are often left with less than a full tank. If the tank is $10 low they will give you back $3 but only after you call and complain. But will charge YOU $9 per gallon unless you pick the car up and carry it home from the gas station. Toll fees are $2.50. You wake up the next morning to see that they took $25 for tolls $17 for gas. Just go through Hertz. Getaround is not worth it at all!
Reserved a car in the west coast, but when i entered the tima and date, the time changed on me because im currently in the east coast. You cannot edit your reservation. And "Help" is not much help at all.
The car was nice, the person was very courteous and I've never rented a car so easy so fast this is the greatest rental service I've ever seen!
They pick and choose who pays a rental deposit. So for an hourly rental it doesn't make sense especially because they don't release it after the rental they hold it for 7days! 75$ for a one day rental deposit. Crazy.
This car drove beautifully, & got excellent fuel mileage. The use of the app is extremely easy. And the customer service is wonderful.
I love it overall with the options and the pricing is reasonable. I have shared it with others already. I have used it 3 times and continue to use it. Still a good experience especially with customer service. Only thing new is the security deposit they added which isnt big like other rental cars with their $350 pricy selves. Continue to use them
Terrible app, terrible cars. All of the cars are in horrible condition. I have had multiple bookings swapped out or cancelled because of "service issues" and one car flat out wouldn't start. App does not provide the information you need when you need it. Was charged a penalty fee for following the instructions provided by the owner in the app. Never using this again.
