I used this app one day to go to work, the driver after picking me up asked me if it was a problem to pick up also a friend of his, I said of course, and he went to pick up his friend anyway. We waited for him several minutes, my driver did a travel completely different from what was predicted to me in the app, and when trying to contact support through the app to complain about this, I got a reply only at night, when they decided to refund me partially. Avoid gett at all costs!
Drivers allowed to charge as they like we were charged double on the way back. Very difficult to locate driver as the app wrongly locates me (Google maps does all good, all permissions with Gett are set). Lot of glitches and unclear UX. My review was deleted from here (idk how you did this, but in typing this again). From my experience (20 years in a similar business) you guys are not doing a great job.
Double charged. I paid in the taxi as requested by the driver and then the app charged me as well. Should be simple to resolve I thought, just contact support and get a refund. Nope, been 3 days now and still being fobbed off and ignored. Will never use again. For my short journey there was also a £15 technology fee with no warning, a euphemism if I ever heard one. This massively inflated the previous price.
A good App and easy to use, but drivers accept fares when they are already with a passenger, so the pickup time is inaccurate. I had to call mine as it stated he was outside but clearly wasn't and I had a train to catch. He told me he was just doing a drop off. So the pickup that should have been 4 mins was actually 10. It was also £9.19 for a fare of 1.2 miles and 5mins. I should have walked... if uber were in Reading I'd use them. Far too expensive is Gett.
Unreliable. Time estimates for taxi driver arrivals is always 2-4mim even when in reality it's 15-20min, even when it's not busy at all, i.e. no demand, no traffic, just bored taxi drivers on the road. Drivers tend to charge extra for things that don't exist (e.g. imaginary luggage). Better off hailing a taxi the old fashioned way (you will also save the "phone booking fee").
It does a good job and is kept in a lean fashion, which makes it easy to use. They have two charges that are added to your bill without prior warning, which added 20% to my final bill. While I accept the small service charge, I find it hard to understand why I also need to pay a hefty technology charge. That is just frustrating because the app would be very good otherwise.
The app itself is great, but I was charged over £9 for less than a ten minute ride when the booking price was £6. Last week I took an Uber from Greenwich, London to Victoria Station for £16 which took almost an hour. Black Cab drivers can stop whinging about free market competition as the prices are extortionate. Update (in response to the response). I wasn't in London, and the price was the price quoted. Just admit the app / your pricing is flawed rather than deflect your mistakes.
I don't get any price rates on Search so this is useless! I can't really understand the real rates to avoid drivers misleading me (which eventually I see price of history 70 when I've paid 200). And I must add that the chat is not real time but only non relevant selctions to a bot answer..no one answers and you can't really advice there!!!!!
App works fine, but the fee is always significantly higher than the indicated average cost. Will keep on having cabs in the street or using Uber, at least it gives you the he cost of a ride upfront.
Even if some of the surcharge goes to drivers it's a massive rip off, avoid at all costs. The surcharge is often near to or more than 100% of the metered fare. The app doesn't offer anywhere near enough benefit to justify paying double, for the same service. Whether it's advertised in advance or not it's a huge scam
Couldn't even order a cab. After a lengthy sign up process and requested charges to my card the app would just say there was an error when I went to book.
Appreciate that they exist; some improvements are needed: it's a little absurd that one cannot select the size of the vehicle when ordering a car. I shouldn't have to wait until after my ride is accepted by a driver to see in what size vehicle they'll be arriving. It's not helpful to then see I'd need to order a second vehicle. Because drivers do not reliably read the notes submitted by passengers, that has now been my experience in the 3 consecutive times I've used this app on this trip.
Had to wait 15 minutes for a driver to accept, then he just ignored coming to me and kept heading in the other direction even though there were plenty of turns. Horrible app, do not recommend
Got charges a "high demand" fee of £15 and £2 service on top of a £14 fare. Ridiculous just showed up last minute, and had to accept or would be late. Rip off.
I don't know why but three times in a row I had to wait for a really long time to get a taxi.one time it took more then 30 minutes. Started using Yango instead.
The drivers are nice and courteous. But, with their new computer system, and numerous complaints, they are still sending the taxi to the wrong address.
Downloaded the app, went to book a journey... £15 'technology fee' lol. Bye Gett. Will use a competitor. No matter how you try and justify this fee it is utter madness.
This was very good two years ago. Lately estimated arrival times have gotten longer and longer, and are often far longer than the actual arrival time. Nobody has to wait 15 minutes for a black cab in the city centre in good weather outside peak hours, but that is now a typical estimate. Need another app.
Works fine. Unfortunately too many drivers refuse to use the meter. Perhaps Gett should have a way to force them.
Developer deleted my previous response. Extortionately expensive app that was uninstalled within minutes. £15 for technology fees alone when my entire ride with a competitor was £8.
App works OK and I'd rather use blackcabs than uber in London but I was hit with £15 technology charge which was more than the actual fare! Won't use again
Prices have gone up ridiculously high and there's no longer an option to use meter or estimated fare - metered only. Why not save the "£1.99 technology fee" and use your local black cab app?
Drivers canceling rides booked well in advance 5 minutes before the requested pickup - especially in the middle of night. Other drivers overcharging, not willing to use the meter and basically inventing prices
This app functions perfectly & I've used it for several years without issue. Last night I found two new charges added to my fare without prior notification. This almost doubled the cost of the journey (£9.60 on the meter - I paid £17.59). The £6 "technology fee" is ludicrous. No problem paying a small service fee. Won't be using again.
