G-Force uses the 3-axis accelerometer to analyze vehicle performance. Measuring performance with the accelerometer is more accurate and reliable than using GPS.
G-Force uses real-time 3-D rotations and auto-senses the direction of gravity so performance can be measured with the device in any orientation.
This is the full version, which computes velocity and position in straight line acceleration to provide 60', 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, speeds and distances and power output. It captures results and saves them as text files on the local device. It also has extras like adjustable font size.

Reviewed GForce Free last month. This review focuses on the velocity capability. Intuitive setup and use; great new data snapshot feature; excellent instructions -- link to the developer's web page provides a complete description of the app including features, how it works, tips, and accuracy testing. Installed on Samsung phone (android 2.1) and A100 tablet (4.0.3). Measured accuracy and consistency by tilting each device right, left, up, and down multiple times. Recorded results, calculated deviation from reference (accuracy indicator) and standard deviation (consistency indicator) for each reference value on both devices. Excellent results on both devices; excellent consistency between devices. All in all an excellent app.
