Ghostbusters World

If you enjoy AR gps based games you'll enjoy this one. The game gives you more to do than just trap ghosts while wandering. You can build a team with the ghosts you've captured and battle with them in a story mode, daily dungeon, pvp and tower mode. I also enjoy the art and ghost design. My one main complaint is that the UI is slow and in many cases needs too many taps to get things done. For example, if you've bought the starter boost which gives you a bonus gift every time you level up there are multiple screens you need to go into in order to claim those gifts. First you need to go to the main menu, then tap the level-up package menu, then scroll down to find your new gift, then tap receive, then go back to the main menu and go into the mail screen, then open the notification for the new gift, and THEN tap receive in order to get your new item. A lot of the UI is like this, and to make things worse some of it just feels slow with additional loading screens or animations that you have to wait for until you can exit or move to the next screen. These issues can all be very annoying but overall I still enjoy the game and it's not stopping me from playing.

The jury is still out. I personally haven't experienced any of the issues other posters/reviewers have mentioned (lost game saves, game hanging/crashing, etc) but that's not to say it doesn't happen. As far as the game goes, i do have one somewhat annoying gripe so far: the "moving too fast" nag screen. Even if im a passenger (like this morning while i was on the train) you cant do anything. The only thing you can do, is the story mode.

Good so far, but overwhelming with how there are many things to do. Overall complaints geared towards lack of detailed character creationn not expecting console RPG level of detail but more than just hair style and color would suffice, not being able to play as a passenger in a car, even when I tell it I'm not driving it refuses to allow me to play, and getting force closes due to inactivity, sometimes I just want to quick check a door for items and close it for 5 minutes and check back. I'd also like to see what ranking or CP the ghost is before catching. To see if it's worth my time or not.

I'm really enjoying it so far but a few improvements would earn this game 5 stars from me. First, it is a huge battery drain. Even when my phone is plugged in, I lose battery life faster than I gain it. I wish there were a battery-saver mode that cuts down on animations to save processing power. Second, the load screens between different game modes last entirely too long. Third, there is no easy way to switch between ghosts on the details menu without backing out and selecting a new ghost. It's a tedious process that can be easily solved by adding a swipe mechanism. Finally, I wish different types of traps would be available on the capture screen so I can select which type of trap to use in the moment, as opposed to only having available the type of trap I entered the battle with. I love all the other features of the game. In particular, I love the story mode and pvp mode. They are far superior to the Pokemon Go gym-style battling. The game is a little buggy so far, but I expect that to iron out over time.

It needs work, but shows promise. Can't keep slimer in the middle of the screen, and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn the screen to point him. Also can't keep slimer in place over the trap. Spent ten minutes trying to just move. Ar on or off, neither works. Tried it on my gf's iPhone, and experienced none of these problems. Worked perfectly there.

Won't open and I have been playing this game a bit earlier today. The pop up says that the network is unstable version check 6. I have never had this issue before. Very disappointed. I even tried with mobile data and the same error message popped up. This is definitely not an issue on the players end. Please fix the problem!! Thank you. Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, same pop up with no game. I recently made a $ purchase as well, sincerely hope you correct this bug. Your fault.

Overall, the game's a lot of fun. Though on the surface it may seem light on content, as you dive deeper, there's so much more. It's not perfect; Dimension Doors, while plentiful, feel a bit lack-luster, and though I see mentions of a "friends" system, I'm not seeing where it is implemented. Addressing these complaints, as well as a few glitches I've seen, could really help bring this to even greater heights. I look forward to future content, and to all those on the fence, jump on in and "see you on the other side!"

Update: was a great game loved it. But, servers are shut down permanently. Good game. No tutorial or help online or website. Certain functions not unlocked like friendship. Sometimes very glitchy in boss battles. Seems like a simple fix. Been out for a little bit. Seems to me something as important as controls should have been addressed fairly quickly after launch.

Great features, story, and polished already. But even not in AR mode is a rediculous battery drain. Worse than Pokémon go in the early days. I just personally don't like that each encounter last 1 to 2 minutes. Annoying when I'm walking or out and about. It is nice that you can do a lot from your house though. A receive all button is needed for mission rewards. It would also be nice to have a indicator that you have already caught a ghost your entering battle with. Since the are many variations of the same ghost. To everyone who's complaining about having to hold your phone at 90 degree angle I was thinking the same thing until I was browsing settings and found an option to control angle with a virtual joystick.

A fun, pretty game, but with issues. I love the theme, ghosts, descriptions, boss fights, and story mode. The downers are constant downgrades, many bugs, and a clear difference to pay-to-win. The designers obviously went live without good progression balance in place, hence the downgrades. Current play is still fun though, albeit a bit grindy at times.

The game itself was good, but they broke it with the recent update.. I find that when Yu go to catch a ghost, the loading wheel continues to spin and you cannot activate your blast at all, nor can you run. Basically all the buttons aren't useable once in that screen, you have to hit the back button on your phone or exit the game completely.

A nice homage to the original movies, comics and tv show. One addition. After the update I decided to give the update a chance; maybe the increased costs and times were necessary? If they are I'm not seeing and payoff in ghost variety, or numbers. Perhaps a corresponding increase in feature set may have spawned (no pun intended) some enthusiasm, but its difficult to find. Went from 4 stars to 3. Maybe this is fixable, but I would humbly suggest that maybe sooner than latter.

This has to be one of the most fun games I have seen. Bringing in aspects of both the original films, the 2016 remake and the game released on recent consoles is brilliant. Then combine that with the new comic style animation and the 3d ghostbusting sequences makes this a truly great game. I cannot wait to see what this has in store for us ghostbuster recruits!

This game does so many things right for the geo-laction style of game that others don't. My only criticism is the mandatory use of motion control for capture (the game pad mode doesn't work well at all) playing in public makes you really stand out and for most games of this kind I like to have my phone attached to my bike handlebars which I can't do with this, I think if the capture system was reworked so it can be done well with the phone static the game would be close to perfect.

There are some glitches and annoyances with the game, yes, but overall I've found it addictive and fun! The battling system is great, and I love how far you can go using regular ghosts vs the upper-tier ones. The main reason I'm commenting, however, is because of how fantastic the ghosts look! They are absolutely gorgeous and I love the way they all seem to show a distinct personality! I love the little intros to them, too! There is so much love shown in the styling of the ghosts. Thank you!

i love it. one of the best A.R. games around. has several characters and an actual storyline to go with it. gameplay is More like a shooter than any of the other AR games like Harry Potter and Pokemon Go etc. The only problem is the music. they took the main theme for Ghostbusters but only about 20 seconds worth of it and loop that 20sec over and over again. it should only be played when you level up or unlocked an achievement. that jingle can be obnoxious and should be used as a reward.

I upgraded my phone to a new model to play this game. I was really looking forward to it. I loved it until the 7-16 update. It locked up my phone. Tried unsuccessfully to reinstall the game, never worked right again. It's a shame, I liked playing. Maybe a future upgrade will fix things. Update - weeks later and I still can't play. I'm running Android 9 and Motorola G6Play. If anyone else has any ideas - I miss the game. The latest update I played is July 2 2019.

COMPLETELY unplayable. Can't even download the extra data to start playing. And there appears to be a discrepancy in the file size of the app itself: the Play Store lists it at around 41MB, but my Samsung Galaxy Note8 lists it at well over 100MB. And after the failed download attempt that's supposed to be 766MB, it magically balloons to 1.2GB!! Pretty sure that math doesn't add up there.

A decent little augmented reality game it made good use of intellectual property. Pros include a turn-based strategy game that you can play with the ghosts you captured. Cons include the fact that it is way over monetized, and it is virtually unplayable on the bus. it's incredibly frustrating to see good ghosts appear, and not be able to click on them or have them "disappear" as soon as they appear.

Very well designed, you can see where the extra time went into it. There's an awful lot to take in, and not all of it is easy to follow. Love all of the classic references, and the variety of ghosts is pretty vast considering the game just came out. Definitely worth spending a weekend playing.

December 17th, 2018 - Issue still occurs since launch day. PLEASE FIX.... Great game but major UI bug found with the containment unit list. If a player selects a ghost and then goes back to the Containment Unit list, they do not end up where the ghost was located but at the top of the page. I can see this being extremely frustrating if a player has 500 ghosts and the ghost they select is in the middle of that list, trying to go back and forth between the ghost and the list would drive any player crazy over time. I expect the containment unit list to remember at which row it was when the screen was last visited. This needs a fix ASAP. Issue still persist from last patch. Still requires a fix.

Very fun, engaging game with plenty of content to keep you busy and on the go. Ties in with the movies, video game, and the IDW comics perfectly with a few original stories of its own thrown in. My only wish is that your avatar/character could be more customizable. I just think it would be cool to be able to design your busting outfit/personal look a bit, but that's not really the point of the game and is a pretty specific, minute issue so I'll still give this 5 stars.

Almost perfect. Pokemon Go bit better battling (by far) and better game play between battles. Haven't done all the social interaction parts but the only real downside so far is that sometimes the controls don't respond at all (Galaxy S8) so the traps take a few taps to send out, or a menu button does nothing the first few times I touch it.

Took some time to rethink my rating after the game came back on. It really is fun, but a lot is unfinished and doesn't seem like it ever will be. Friends and clans have never worked. Multiplayer bosses have been offline since August which makes them unobtainable and locked. Using goggles requires a restart after each 15 minute period due to some weird error. No seasonal events or even reskin Christmas sprites like 2018. If you like a solo game and dont mind never being able to 100% play it

It's a great game. The motion controls can get glitchy but there's an option to turn them off. The game is fun and while it has in-game purchases the entire game is easy to play without buying anything since the 'gems' are only used for making things craft faster which isn't needed since you mostly craft traps which you also get from busting ghosts.

Doesn't even load. I see the unity screen, then it switches to the loading circle and freezes. Have used all your troubleshooting and nothing. Terribly disappointing as I was looking forward to this game tremendously, but unfortunately it is under developed and won't run. Update: all they do is give auto responses and no actual feedback on the issue, which apparently loads of people are having. Highly disappointing for what could have been a great game.
