Giftster - Wish List Registry

Almost all the needed features for a gift list. I've been looking a lot for an app at this level, and all other apps are far behind. Please bring French language, and enhance a bit the UX, and it will be perfect! Kind extra suggestion: Please bring a new "Whichever you want, up to you" possible indication on a gift idea: it allows me to say that I need a blue sweatshirt for instance, but do not really care what brand or model, so I leave the choice to the buyer.

Not as good as the website. The App doesn't work well. You cant delete items on the list. When fetching from a link it fails to correctly import the item then the link doesnt work. And finally people have been buying items of my list which doesnt appear on the App. All appears as still available. I have to click the link I send them to actually see what items remain.

Pretty good app honestly. Creating lists are seemless... Sharing in a group works wonderfully and being able to claim items whether with buy intention or actually purchasing is a nice touch. There's a little bit of a frustration that is maybe more Amazon's issue, but grabbing links of products from the Amazon app includes the item title and must be manually edited to get just the URL. It seems the fetch feature could probably parse the url or of the copied text.

Very useful. It's the best gift app I've found so far. I just wish the UI was modern and attractive. Feels like I'm inside a crumpled and ripped paper bag. Gallery views, instead of long lists, would be nice too. That said, I've tried other gift apps with a nicer looking interface and walked away sorely disappointed in their functionality. In my book, function beats form every time. If the developers improved the app design without compromising functionality, this would be a 5 star ⭐ winner!

Love the app and the convenience of it, but something is wrong with it right now. I can't log in without getting an error about it. I'm only able to go into "buy for" tab but I can't change, adjust or add to the wish lists. After the error message pops up, I click on 'email support' and it immediately kicks me out of the app. I've removed the app and reinstalled with no improvement. Help!

Best gift shopping list app out there, and I tried all the popular ones. With one or two steps you can add items from any website into any list, and share it with specific people. It already pulls price and pictures for you, and works on the app and on PC as well. It still is a bit clunky in parts(but robust): I wish we could share a link from our mobile browser directly to the app. Also I wish we could move items between lists, but there's no way to do that now.

Very handy app to have. Would be great if there was an option for the recipient of a gift to re-add that same item back onto their list once recieved or an "ongoing" flag that doesn't allow it to show as purchased on your list. Sometimes you want things on your wishlist that you use all the time, like gift cards for favourite restaurants or favourite personal care products. But if somebody reserves it, then it greys out to the rest of the group. To add it back on, you have to start from scratch.

ALMOST PERFECT!!! I need a second app called Gift List to work with this one. It would be great if it had some of the features like setting a budget and then the option of "bought" or "to wrap". But this app works well w/my family. Never have to second guess what they want. However there are a few glitches when it comes to "fetching" a picture. If the site has multiple color options sometimes the color you want doesn't pop up.

I love this app. My whole family have started using it and I love the fact that you can add items you have bought to other peoples lists and they cannot see it but everyone else can. It prevents duplicate gifts. I would like to see the ability to be able to produce some sort of reports. I would like to see things like all the gifts I have bought for a person and the total amount I have spent. I think this would improve the app. The only negative point I have is that because the My shopping list is an archive of everything I have bought or reserved then if someone is removed from a list I cannot delete any items I might have bought or reserved. Removing a person from a list causes problems with some aspects of lists. If these two points were added/sorted I then this would be a 5 star. However, still a fantastic app.

Our family of 8 is going to give this a try. So far we love the idea and all the options. We especially love that you can use it online with the Chrome extension. We tested out a few other apps before deciding on giftster. One suggestion I would like to see added, (maybe it's in the works) is to integrate the app in the share list and have it fetch the info like the Chrome extension does on a computer. Also would be nice to fetch the info straight from other apps like bestbuy or amazon. I know there is a fetch button inside the Giftster app, but that just opens a browser and I have to re-find the item all over again through the giftster browser in order to add it to my list. Nice work, so far we all love it.

This is so much better than trying to remember what everyones told you they want or trying to get everyone to put their lists into a text message. There is nothing even close to what this App/Website can do to keep you organized with what your buying for each person. It also prevents the chance of duplicate gifts, when a gift is reserved/Purchased everyone can see that except for the person that made the list. It includes Everything you'll need to know like: Clothing sizes, colors, fit etc.

Completely changes xmas shopping for me now. I can get my entire family and share lists. Love that you can mark items as bought and add stuff to other's lists without that person seeing. The ability to add so much detail to items too such as pictures, website links, etc is excellent too. Plus it's all free! Only one thing I found I couldn't do through the app (deleting a group) but I could on their site. Will definitely continue using the app into the future.

I love this app! We are a family of 8 and this app makes shopping for birthdays/Christmas so much easier. Previously, we used paper list/email. This app you keep up in real time w/ what's been purchased so no duplicates happen. We will continue to use this app as long as it's available! *suggestion* I believe a scanner for UPCs would be so helpful!! I was out shopping and saw something I wanted to add to my list but no scanner! I took a picture and added it to my list later.

Easy to Use. I was easily able to add about 15 items while shopping on my phone. You can simply copy the link using the share button on any site and past that into your list and it pulls all the data from the website including an image, price and description. When you family or friends go to the list they can also click on the link you pasted. Only complaint is you can't sort the list. It currently sorts lists A - Z by name. I'd like 2 more sorting options available - by date added and price.

Incredibly easy to use, and to share with people. Has meant we don't struggle for gift ideas in the build up to Christmas, we just add to Giftster throughout the year, and family and friends can see it whenever they want to! Lots of people concerted over after just viewing our lists on it, which has made gift buying much less of a guessing game!

This app is so convenient! I love that I can share the same list with multiple groups, and that I can see when an item on someone's wish list has been purchased. It takes a lot of the guesswork and hassle out of the equation. Even the little feature that reminds your group members to refresh their list - love it! This app is perfect.

Great idea but my God it has got to be one if the most glitched apps ever. Logs you out randomly, craches and says it's taking to long to load when it doesn't even load for a second before showing the message, and if you finally can get into the app it doesnt even show your list or members of your groups list either. Overall just needs alot of work

Excellent app. Me and my fiancee struggled with gift ideas for each other and asking for specific gifts takes all the fun out of the surprise. What we did was make a huge list on giftster, way more than we could ever expect to receive, and then select different items on the list to get as gifts. The star rating system also makes it easy to indicate which items you really want.

I wanted an app that my family could use for Christmas lists. This does exactly what I wanted. You can place links right to the product online, leave notes, and indicate which gifts you'd like the most. Great app. Could use an interface redesign, but the functionality is all there.

This is the app all my friends and family use and have used for years. Great interface. Just recently, though, some of our kids got duplicate gifts. And, the givers' apps show that they had reserved them. So it appears the locking system is broken somehow. This happened twice now with experienced users, so definitely a bug.

Excellent, however too little difference between colours of items that are available and those that have been bought make it too difficult for users with only slight visual impairment to realise if they are buying something that has already been bought. This results in some duplicate presents being received. Better contrast between bought and available items would be a good idea.

Looked great to begin with. Has some cool features but would really like the option of having other social media profiles linking in and being able to integrate (not just Facebook). Would come back to this app if it has the ability to invite others via SMS or social media. Inviting via email only is outdated.

Edited after response and using app some more: Still missing the mark for me and my wife. Let me have the ability to add items and delete items to my child's list with my wife, not just add suggestions. This really is one of the best apps for gifting, but the collaboration just needs some tweaks. Co-owning a list with all functions would set this to 5 stars.

LOVE THIS APP! The whole family have been using it the last 2 years. So easy to use! Plus it means every birthday and Christmas you get something you want but you have mo idea who is buying it for you. I love the link "fetch" feature on there. Makes adding items quick! I've now amended my review to 5☆ since the developer has responded...yes you did hide the delete button very well! I feel cleansed now I've got rid of items and groups I don't need 😂🙈

Not Ready For Primetime! Nice try, but this isn't what you're looking for. Have to manually add item title, item image, description, price, etc. Can't sort list the way you want. VERY clunky. There are better Wishlist or Secret Santa apps out there that provide a smoother experience. I'm evaluating different apps like this for family and for work. They shouldn't have released this app yet. It isn't finished. Feels like they just want your data to sell. You are the product being sold.

Our little family secret to always get and give the perfect gifts for each other and avoid those awkward, "just what I always wanted" moments. The Gifster app makes Christmas, birthday, wedding, baby shower or any gift buying event so much simpler and stress free (especially for me!). We've been using it for several years and can't imagine shopping for each other without it. Just sign up, create your family or friends group and invite the people you want to share gift ideas with.

I've been using Giftster with my family for a few years now, first on the website, then on the app. The kids are grown, but it's still a great resource for birthdays and holidays. The one thing it's missing is a place under preferences for "favorites". Favorite candy, favorite colors in clothing as well as for the home, type of razors used (for replacement blades), etc.. Things that aren't gifts, but make good additional items for parties/stocking stuffers, etc...

Could be a lot better: little things like can't paste unless you click first. But it really needs things like the ability to see what email address you've invited, sending reminders to fill in lists, or just put a description on the group.
