Music, awesome. Access to the vault, awesome. But when listening to the vault either with headphones or a BT speaker, the app doesn't keep up to the music. Meaning that if your screen turns off during song 3, then once you get to song 10 and try to skip a song you will go to song 4. This is what happens on my S8 anyway.
i thought this was supposed to be a contender for other music streaming apps. it's just a bunch of useless podcasts jumbled together in a poorly designed and confusing ui layout. not to mention there's a constant pop-up window for their premium service that takes up nearly half of the screen and you cannot get rid of it. uninstalled!
It's my primary music app these days with great DJs and great shows. But after having this app for over a year, it's in need of an overhaul. The UI is clunky and a little buggy, but not so bad that you can't enjoy it. I'm not sure it's even been updated in the past year, or at least I can't see any UI improvement from what I can tell.
So far I'm really impressed with Gimme Metal. The fact that there's NO commercials or ads is very VERY metal. The DJs are very metal. The choice between two channels is very metal. The live chat is not so very metal. Metal-ish at best... maybe even meh-tal. And finally, the metal, so far, is very metal! So much metal that my phone weighs over 25 lbs. after installing this app... Bastarding GIMME METAL is AWESOME!
This is the best music-related app I have ever downloaded! The shows are original. The music is incredibly varied. The DJs are incredible! It can be buggy at times but overall you NEED to get this if you are a fan of metal music!
UX is a little a bit confused and on many screens there is a bug where the close or edit buttons are so far to the top of the screen that they can't be accessed without triggering the opening of the Android OS top settings draw instead. Content seems pretty good, but UX issue make app too annoyingly to use right now.
I'm loving the curated, digital radio app trend. I hope it takes off, as terrestrial and sallelite radio are duller than dirt. + Can save songs to a personal collection to remember later. + The Vault lets users replay DJ shows they may have missed Must have for metalheads.
Awesome! Im sure there are UI improvements that could be done that I can't think of, but someone smarter will point out. The most important thing is the LOVE OF METAL. The mission statement for this service is exactly what I'm looking for as a fan of this style of music. THANK YOU!
Great music selection! Definitely using more and more. May just become my go to for radio while at work and home. The bits of info in the comments is cool, but seems excessive to me. Keep up the great work!
I deeply enjoy this app. Good programming, excellent musicians, great shows, I can keep all day. Amazing work, amazing radio. I consider it a grear platform based on metal music and focused on each customer experience.
Great music chosen by people in the business. Community, and discovery. The app is stable and easy to navigate. For looking at program and DJ info, it's better than the website. Keep up the good work!
It's free metal, what more could you want? Great way to discover new bands. My only recommendation would be to add the ability to cast the audio. I'd love to blast these tunes using my Google Home devices 🤘🏻
I think this is the best music app available for fan of heavy metal out there. There are loads of intriguing stations of stuff I've never heard before as well as plenty of classic stations. Just download it already.
Gimme radio has introduced me to a whole variety of new music, I love metal in all its forms and Gimme covers them all! Another great feature is the chat room you can chat to people from all over the world. I absolutely love this station I would recommend it to all my friends.
Loved the app. Amazing content. My only complaint is that it closes every time I accidentally click back. It needs to run in background like the other music apps.
The good: interesting selection of metal and shows that isn't available elsewhere. The bad: Only 2 live streams and sometimes they run the same show. Very limited selection at times. This would only rate 3 stars if there was another Metal streaming service. Also, feels like a work in progress. Hopefully it will improve in time. Could easily be 5 stars if they put in the effort to make it so.
