Suddenly 18 pounds a year to return to full functionality. I would consider a one off fee but certainly not a yearly fee unless it was considerable less. The app is good but I will manage with something cheaper. The developer may think the app is worth a yearly fee but for those that are light users it is rather expensive. Having a very good app with a high level of functionality and millions of users should generate sufficient profits by virtue of scale. £18 to buy then £5/year would be OK.
I've used this app for many years with no problem, but for some odd reason, it logged me out. I get an email stating about the new yearly price, so I was trying to cancel my subscription, but will not even let me log in. It states, invalid email and password, which or not wrong. How can I fix this?
New update is a bit wonky. Adds extra a lot of spaces sometimes, especially while swyping. Skips letters at times too. Not bad, definitely easier to use than Samsung. Word predictions never change tho, so it's useless for that, and it sometimes erases a lot more than it should when deleting.
Wanted larger letters/#s. Otherwise keep hitting key next to desired letter. It autocorrects when it needn't. My spelling was correct. It doesn't *know* to add a ' or anything. Emojis you must scroll right to left. MUCH easier scrolling up. The RECENTS SECTION is pathetically 🔹small. So my saved emojis are almost always not there...!! I have to scroll sideways and laborously find ie My candle (Light) is wayyyyyyyyy away. Searching emoji This board has no memory. My name address phon
Missing simple features. I want to like this keyboard. But it now being 2022 and you can't change the skin color on emojis is unacceptable. It has so much things too like but just missing simple key features.
For years, I was using Grammarly, but since I discovered this app and found out that this free version is way better than the free version of Grammarly. I then deleted Grammarly instantly and will forever continue to use this AMAZING app! 👍😍❤️
I like this app so much. It's help me to correct pretty much everything. I can rely on it rather than asking my children all the time. But it's seems like the app is no longer free. As a single working mom cannot effort to keep this app anymore but, are there any other app which I can download free? Can you suggest me please?
Wow! You forced me to upgrade in order to continue with the grammar correction. I did so and the pop-up still keeps coming out. So disappointed
It was 4 star earlier (as undo option is not there) but after the update, its rating is declined to 1 star. User interface is so unfriendly. I wish i could undo the update.
I love the layout but the dictionary is fatally flawed. Very limited stock dictionary, always capitalizes corporations even if u add the lower case version to your dictionary. Sometimes will replace words I added to the dictionary. Won't suggest words I add to the dictionary ever
I love all functions and features on the Ginger software key board. It has helped my game with word wars. You have to get the 9.99 in summer or the game is enudatedated with daytime TV type comme
Change its look. And the keypad is not user friendly like gboard and ios keyboard. Customisation should be a user friendly.
My previous issue was eventually fixed in about a day. Customer service was quick which I very much appreciate. Will put up a more detailed review once I get deeper into this app.
Finally! Found a good keyboard for use on my Fairphone which has the layout and options that I want. It's the most similar to the Samsung keyboard, and its pretty accurate with swiping, whereas I've tried several others that are not. It's resizeable, you can change the look and feel, and it has language change by moving the space bar which I like. The word prediction is mostly helpful, and it has backspace-word-delete which again, was missing from some others I have tried. 👍
It's my go-to keyboard. The talk-to-text on it is brutal, it pixwords and your leg how did it even come up with that? There's no option to backup when you're using talk-to-text. So you're constantly switching from talk-to-text to keyboard. When you're typing the spacebar and the. Need to move over cuz I'm constantly hitting the. Instead of the spacebar and there's no way to fix it and its own spell checker doesn't fix it. If they would fix a few of these things it would be a great keyboard
It is a wonderful app..I would recommend more languages like geez to be added to the languages list.. Thanks alot
I like this board out of a half dozen or more. It feels solid and is easy to type on for me. Space bar doesn't get in the way and isn't offset like some models. It resizes and the options work well for me. It doesn't lag. Users who prefer to disable both the popup on keypress and tactile vibration is also user adjustable. Best board for me personally. It just works and is fast without errors upon input. I do not use the swipe to text option however thus, I cannot comment on that aspect.
for the most part Ginger works well but there are still some things that need to be worked into the program. such as being able to make corrections to what ginger considered an error or an improper phrase in speech. Even if the adjustments can be made to the individual's application and saved as a preference would go a long way towards helping the repeating errors that it may show in a piece of writing. All in all I continue to use the application cuz it goes a long way towards helping me edit
I like it, I really do. But it's sad that the rephrasing method is limited which is utterly dissappointing. As a writer who is not good at english this app became very helpful to me. Edit: 04/14/20 It's still good. However it seems like it doesn't fucntion that well anymore. Whenever there are errors, it highlighted the wrong words or sometimes doesn't highlight anything at all making it hard to find the errors. This is such a good app. Hopefully you'll fix it soon.
Customizable keyboard, good grammar/word correction. Some grammar mistakes are not recognized (if I will). However, it's not free, and their freemium only include 8 corrections which after one use, you have to pay a subscription service which is 11 pounds annum. Unless you're a writer/author etc. it's a very expensive app for what it is, considering it doesn't correct grammar 100% all the time.
Lots of bells and whistles added, but annoying bugs aren't being fixed. If you select one of the words suggested by Ginger, a space and a ", the " is added directly after that word, before the space. This is one of many examples. Incorrect capitalisation of suggested words and American English spelling when British English has been selected are other recurring issues.
The suggested word selection is terrible. Frequently I find myself manually typing the word in instead of being able to select it from the list. Half of this feedback was manually typed. *EDIT* I used multiple times per day for 1 week. Simple words such as (food, them, done) wouldn't even come up in the suggestions when I went to edit the words that came out wrong. I switched to another Swype keyboard with GIF abilities, which is all I really wanted. Maybe 1 week wasn't enough, but my previous keyboard didn't have as many issues and my new keyboard seems to work better after only 2 days as well. I understand it's a learning algorithm, My opinion is it doesn't learn fast enough, or well enough then. I don't have time for it to take 6 months to learn my speech patterns. I will say, it was easy to install and set up. Once installed, it was being used in less than a minute.
I'm trying to give it sufficient time to prove worthwhile. However, it has one of the worst spell checking capabilities I've seen in a long while. It appears to have no skill set to take a word and offer multiple choices outside of what the first letter. The flow function, where the finger follows for typing, is chopped and intermittently fails to function. I still can not find how to add the microphone to the key board. I'll continue to try but it really is proving to be a frustrating app
For the most part I like this app, though there is an annoying glitch on One Note where it will not allow a space to be created between paragraphs as other keyboards, such as Grammaly, do. However, the most irritating thing, is the constant request in the area where suggestions are made, at the start and finish of using the keyboard, to rate this app! So only inclined to give 2 stars as a result.😝
Despite being listed as top recommendation on a popular website, they make you pay for auto correct. What a great way to money grab for a keyboard app. Would be okay with a one time fee. Not a subscription. Hardly any customization options for custom themes. Will be looking for a better keyboard that doesn't do it just for the money.
It's a well thought out app with some great features. However the kepboard placement is far too low and on a large phone its a massive stretch to hit the space bar. Even though I have large hands it's uncomfortable and in a flow of text I miss it every single time resulting in the world's longest jumble of letters. Its a shame because the grammar feature is so good.
Ginger Keyboard works well but I did not like it because of the upgrade pricing. The upgrade subscription pricing is just too expensive. Having to pay a yearly subscription to continue using a feature makes no sense to me when there are other keyboards with similar features for free. I'm sure that I'm not the only one turned off by the pricing model for this keyboard. If you made the upgrade pricing a reasonable one time fee I might consider keeping this keyboard.
Ten star keyboard! Happy sending messages again. I've tried top rated ones, switching after disgusted to other ones. Typing slowed down, corrections would drive me insane an unending list of annoyances were appearing. I was at wits end. I did an internet check once again, this time Ginger Keyboard appeared as being an excellent choice. I love the sentence structure suggestion and I still can keep GIFs, etc., zero lost by switching.
I’ve used ginger keyboard for a long time and like it a lot. It’s very easy to use, was easy to install and I absolutely love the different color skins that I can use to customize my phone and match my theme. The only thing that I’m not thrilled with (maybe because I just don’t know how to use it) is that I can’t change the color of my emojis’ skin or hair. Everybody is blonde with red hair on my phone. Not a great look. Otherwise, thumbs up in all areas. Thanks for a great app.
