In general, a good app that helps me communicate with classmate and teachers. Sometimes having issues with opening the chats and not being able to write, which lowers the score a bit.
Without notifications on new messages, the app is effectively useless. I have to check for new messages manually. Also, a separate button for sending messages would be good.
Doesn't recognize when you've read messages. Also it's almost impossible to read the drop down menu that lets you mark all managed as read. But otherwise it works as expected.
I don't receive notifications, the recent chat list order seems random, messages are not marked as read, messages can't be sent, or edited quite frequently. No option to add attachments.
No read receipt. Dark mode is utterly nonsense. No notifications. I have no option but to suffer using gitter app as our team works on it. We'll plan to shift as soon as possible.
The app is okay-sh. Very basic. It doesn't allow me to clean conversations. The suggested rooms are always there and I m. Not sure I m online when the app is not open. Wondering if I get notifications too.
I'm getting new message notifications after I view the message and it is annoying. I am aware of notification settings. I do want to have notifications for which are not viewed yet.
App crashes sometimes out of the blue. Also, give option/setting to disable sending a message with pressing enter, rather have a button for it.
Meh. Opens the chat and lets you communicate. Features on the full website like reply, quote and notifications are all missing from this app. No added value over using the mobile site instead of this app.
The message input field disappears at random, and then I can't send messages. That's pretty bad for a messaging app.
Is a Simple and Good App so far, but some Features are missing not like the Web Version. Please make it exactly like the Web one, like Markdown Switch and so on.
The android develeopers at gitter there is a serious bug in your broadcast receiver coz your app crashes everytime a notification comes please fix it it is really annoying!!!
Extremely poor quality app. No state management, no robust notifications, no options to look out for members status and the list goes on.
Not good for having a conversation. Notifications are not in sync with the chat. Through browser is better. Shame.
You are deprecating mobile apps in favour of a web version? Horrendous. I don't use a browser for 'app' functionality because the experience is ALWAYS awful. Guess this is M$ handiwork like Skype. I screwed that up so I uninstalled that too.... Ridiculous.
Utterly, utterly hopeless. I've never seen an app this bad before. Really, don't bother on a mobile device, it's simply unusable. To be fair, Gitter is pretty awful anyway. I don't know why people bother. This has been done so much better elsewhere. Vote with your feet. I am.
no secure log in mechanism offered. all of the options just ask for username and password from other websites directly in the app. ridiculous
Other than horribly bright pink Microsoft like color, the functionality seems okay, the 2.9 * rating misleading, IMHO it should have 3-3.5 * rating as of current version
Notifications don't work for me, and a chat still shows I have unread messages even after I open it.
Never gives me notifications, even though it's activated both in app and in OS, therefore kind of useless for me.
Not much benefit comparing it to the website. The app is just replicating it and if in doubt going with the web version is better.
unfortunately it doesn't mark things as read and notifies you over and over again about the same stuff. time to move to slack.
stopped getting notifications and as far as I can tell there's no way to edit your messages (unlike on the desktop)
This app is no different then element. bridges over the same stuff. They should just combine them
The web and desktop versions support threads (limited support), but the mobile version doesn't. Worse, the threaded message is entirely missing, making it look like the original post was just ignored. In general, the desktop and web versions seem much more full-featured than the mobile app.
