Screen drifts, controls are very poor then you hit the wrong thing but the back button isn't available until the page fully loads lmao which is very slow load times, does not work with immersive content players, nothing will go into focus or close to it interface and all, didn't allow 1/2 of Bluetooth controler functions.. settings section is empty.. I rarely leave a bad review.. but when I put on a vr headset, it's typically for one obvious purpose.. hindrances can be a bit aggravating .
Excellent integrated media browser with movie player. After opening the app, just pop it in and you have full navigation. Just one glitch so far, it freezes and returns to the home screen if you try to fast forward or rewind using the movie's progress bar. Then you have to take the phone out and manually start the app again. Fix the bug and its a full 5 🌟!
Great app! It would be better if there was a clock that could be accessed while in vr(Update: You did. Thank you). I'd like to be able to recline and still watch a movie without bending my neck. Speech capability for web browsing would also be useful. My device tends to get pretty warm using the player. But that aside, it's still the best player I've used.
Is there any way to download videos so that we can have a smooth experience. Because most of the times when the net speed is not 'super fast' it keeps on loading/buffering(my problem!But....)And VR is best above 5K & needs good net speed. Loads for few seconds then again buffers. Even if I have loaded 1 min video and start from beginning it again buffers. Please provide a download button because if there is one I can't find it. Please help! Overall nice, simple and intuitive interface. Great app!
Used it for some days now, and this seems a pretty good video player. No issues with aspect ratios as in other players. Some different environments (cinema, landscape, etc.) would be a nice addition in the future. For some reason I am not able to login to my youtube account via the browser. Browser is not safe or something. If that could be fixed..? Also, I experience a little drift. In the browser, it would be nice to 'swit off' the pointer. Now some sites are unusable as the pointer is active.
Loads of potential here. First off, no issues trying to open the app, it has worked every single time on my older device. Secondly, the browser is pretty easy to navigate and doesn't require a remote. Third, you don't have to change the battery settings to use the app, it will run in battery-saver. The app doesn't require a tied in social media account and hasn't ask me to create an account with them. All in all, a great app that I hope isn't targeted by large tech in the future.
A very good VR video player for cardboard-style headsets. Unfortunately just a few things that prevent me from using it. First off, it's slow. Slow to load, and then it has to do some kind of import process on any videos you have? I can't recall any other similar app doing that. Also the Zoom settings. It doesn't save the Zoom setting between videos, and I'd really like to be able to zoom out even more. Even at a minimum setting, I find it too immersive (weird complaint, right?)
It's good! But there's a problem, and it's that I have to use my phone "upside down" because my vr headset only has holes for cables on the left side, the thing is that when I select the re-center button, it re-centers but upside down, which is annoying, not sure if I explain myself, and a recommendation: I'd love a slider to adjust the spacing when there's a 3D video if it's possible, overall it's a very good app!
Could be better. Improvement needed: 1. The center yellow dot will not disappear when watching video or when not moving my head. 2. The screen should be able to adjust for distance or zoom out. It is too close. 3. The virtual keyboard is click-through, make it unusable when a website was open. It keep pressing the content behind the keyboard.
Best app I've used for playback of downloaded VR videos (aside from the magnificent Skybox, which tragically cannot be used on a Note 10 or on newer Samsung phones). The only glaring deficiency is that not only can't you watch videos stored on a network or server, you can't even watch ones stored on your SD card- you are limited strictly to the phone's built-in memory, which is very frustrating. There also is no way to sort the videos- it uses some algorithm with no useful pattern.
Nice player, does most of what I need and has useful settings without getting too complicated. Some things could be improved, such as: 1) it's hard to pause the video - I have to look down and hit a very tiny little spot and wait, then find the pause button; my bluetooth headphones have a play/pause button but it doesn't seem to work, 2) it doesn't autodetect the best VR mode properly, 3) it seems to truncate longer file names, without even using ellipsis, 4) can't seem to navigate to the parent directory (except by pointing into the path at the bottom, I guess)
Only got this to watch youtube, definitely worth it. Slight issue on when watching youtube, make sure to pause the video before going into full screen or there will be the video with audio playing while you are watching it in fullscreen. Apart from that, brilliant. Haven't encountered any problems so far. It's not slow when loading, pretty easy to navigate around the app. Not laggy, glitchy or slow. Definitely worth downloading and giving a try! 5 stars from me! 😁
One of the best apps in theory for vr browsing but it doesn't work correctly. When I try to play one of my videos it's so zoomed in it's unrecognisable, making it extremely difficult and frustrating to see what you're watching. I wish I could set the distance from the screen or something because as it is now there's no point. Also when trying to browse websites like YouTube, you can't even log in but you have to browse on no account which is pretty annoying too.
Generally I like the app, but there are a few things that make it annoying to use. It would be great to have a few calibration options: 1 Left/right screen centre adjustment (at the moment the screen is shifted towards the camera which makes things blurry). 2 Brightness adjustment (optional extras could be contrast, saturation). 3 Option to set default play mode for Media playback (2D, 3D 180 etc). 4. Option to set default tabs (browser, media, recentre) above/below the player controls.
So far I've only used this for regular 2D videos downloaded onto my device itself using my modified Google Cardboard headset. It's a very good video player, although it defaults to 360° mode for every video I play in the app so I have to fix it on a video by video basis. The controls are very good if you do not have an external controller, implementing a simple gaze to select. I have used an Xbox One controller with this app but I wish I could use it more than just looking and pressing 'A'.
The best free VR player... period Easy to use, it has different modes of controlling your VR experience. For example - if your headset has a button you can set the interface up to use tap which will recognize the button push. If it doesn't have a button you can set it for gaze which gives you a small dot which you position on the control you want to activate just by looking at it. After a second or two the control is activated - pretty slick.
So far, this has been the best VR app I've ever used. I love the interface. It's super clean and intuitive. The hands-free controls were easy to use as well. Only reason I scored this 4 stars and not 5 is because I kept having to recenter the video every so often. I tried different mp4 files and the video and controls would shift to the right. If there was a way to recenter and lock the center position, that would be amazing!
Not enough resources to play a video? What kind of resources do you need to be a video player. You have one job. Display my videos in VR. I have two gbs free on my phone. What the hell else do you need? What's worse is that I'm getting this error for videos I've already watched before using this app. Extremely inconsistent.
This app has worked pretty well for me the past 6 months on my Galaxy S8 Plus UNTIL about mid-May 2021 when Samsung forced a major Android update. Since then I've noticed it takes much longer for the thumbnails to reload for MP4 files on the micro SD card. Not Gizmo's fault but something to be aware of since May 2021. My only other complaint with the MP4 file/thumbnail view is that there is NO way to sort or redisplay the MP4 files by name, size or date. So for example, if you have a few complete seasons of a TV series loaded, the order of the MP4 files is completely random. You might have the first 5 episodes on Page 1, then it will have the last 2-3 episodes on Page 1 also, then Page 2 starts with 10-15, it defies all logic, lol.
I don't normally give out 5 stars so freely, but this app has truly earned it. Paired with an above-average VR headset and a QHD AMOLED display (LG V30), this is the best VR content viewer I've used so far. I really appreciate that the entire user interface is projected in VR mode unlike other apps, as this makes the experience much more immersive. The interface is really clean, intuitive and easy to navigate with my head. I can either look up some VR content within the browser or download my own VR content and load it onto my SD card. Overall I have no complaints with the interface and experience.
One of the best VR apps out there.. let me cover a few technical points which other people have suffered through if you're getting the error not enough resources I don't think this was designed to work on newer versions of the Android system I used it on an older but still nice phone and I was able to play all the videos that I was having issues with on my current phone so try older phones. My one and only gripe is if you have a shorter video looping the player will come up each time.
Minimal and effective UI for VR content. Usable with controls or handsfree. Includes a media search (doesn't work on mine) through their website. Plays any downloaded media content, and does a good job detecting 3d mode. This is a great way to watch 3d movies.
UI is brilliant but I have a problem. While watching there is a problem with gyroscope compatibility as the screen starts to tilt/rotate and I have to re-centre every 3-5mins to make it straight/centred. It would be really helpful if there was a lock screen feature where in non-VR videos would be centred all the time even if a person is repositioning.
Must have VR apps! Don't stop at "player", instead please make this app a complete media center! Here is some feedbacks: 1. More completed browser function, such as bookmark, multiple tabs, etc. 2. A functionality to move the screen to top, so that I can actually lay down to watch some videos. 3. We have a virtual keyboard for daydream. Since it can input other languages, please use that instead.
Installed on my quest 2. App was working fine in my quest 2 but when I recently opened it up the text in the results was invisible. The ads above the results were visible and when I clicked on the blank page it would take me to another page which was also filled with invisible text. I only installed on my phone so I could try to contact someone about my issue
Overall quality of video is good but FPS is not smooth when open 60 FPS video. It can play Vr 180 and 360* but can't play with fisheyes mode. UI is quite good but it gonna be perfect if I can play, pause or recenter by clicking play button on headset and adjust volume by clicking volume button on headset. If you improve all of this. I will be happy to rising my star to MAX. :)
Decent app but there is a HUGE issue with the Samsung S10e model (and I assume also many other phones with hole punch cut outs or notches). The center line (white line) ignores the fact that there is space along the cut out, and calculates the center line based on the space BELOW the camera. On the other hand, the two videos for L and R ACKNOWLEDGES that there is usable space beside the camera and as a result the center of the two videos do not lie on the center line! Please fix.
UI is clean and easy to use, local player's watching experience is wonderful, just like watching in the cinema. Only problem is cannot save the settings, each time you need set again. (And if I can resize the Web browser that would be perfect)
One of the best I have tried. One minor request to consider. I use the browser to watch movie, but even the full screen still leaves black space around, plus an ad. Does paying the price enlarge picture size? If yes, then I'd happily pay. Also, my phone gets hot after some use. Not sure if you can improve that. Overall, functionality is great.
