Amazing! This type of gameplay is hard for people who aren't interested in AI or are unfamiliar with programming. The concepts are really basic and the potential is there for you to create highly complex systems for your ultimate AI. I'm a novice in Java and have an interest in AI. So it made getting into the game way easier. I think the game is a great way to learn programming, and I would love to be able to program the AI's with text based programming languages like JavaScript //Max word count

Just started playing and it's a brilliant game for who's into programming. The compiler is intuitive and simple to use while offering a long list of commands/filters that allow you to implement strategies beyond what's shown on the training. This adds complexity to the game and a need to constantly explore new commands in order to evolve your program even further to cope with various different battle scenarios. Well done!

Has real potential. The biggest problems I've had with it is I keep accidentally tapping something that takes me back to the training menu and as soon as I do my progress on the training level I'm doing is reset. Also it doesn't seem foolproof because I've set range to small to medium as asked but the prompt doesn't disappear and it doesn't solve the level. Good, but too awkward.

I tried to like this game, I really did. However, the tutorial left me with more questions than answers, as it seems to focus on how to connect pre-made snippets rather than design strategies. I couldn't get past the 3rd level even after going through the tutorial 4 times. The UI tends to be overly complex and finnicky, and I often had to fight with the UI to achieve what I wanted. The idea is solid, but the game needs an overhaul and an actually helpful tutorial focused on gameplay.

Finally a true battle wits! As awesome as the game as I had some complaints. 1. The UI is a bit overcomplicated and I kept hitting "back" twice and accidentally leacing the mission. 2. I'm a programmer but some of the conditions still don't make sense, especially the target filtering condtions versus initial conditions (they seem to have different but similar options?) I hope this game gets improved. I can see it being a great educational tool if it's made easier to understand :)

The tutorials are all very simple and easy to understand, but the level 1 of campaign is a completely whole new set up with 2 groups of friendly bots and 2 groups of enemy bots. The campaigns should start small and allow the player to truly understand what they are doing and with small group tactics, and then macro strategies. Also, the tutorial holds the player's hand a bit too much, giving us literally every step of what to do. For a programming game, I think self-discovery is important.

I played with this a bit in its early days when I think there was only elimination matches, but I needed to stop while I focussed on other things. It was good back then, and has come a lot further, since. I like the 'rock-paper-scissor strategy tension' created by some of the additions, and the rich set of language primitives opens up a lot of possibilities. Really good work!

Why this hasn't been rated the game of the year yet is beyond me. Makes you question every part of your strategy over and over again. Easy enough to start playing straight away, complicated enough to keep you engaged for weeks. Pleasant graphics, easy enough control, great players-dev engagement, friendly and helpful player base, not much more to wish for.

Excellent and intuitive IA management system, multiple combinations possible, and very, very engaging. Beautiful (yes, that's the word) strategic combat game. And the tweaking system for the IA... Elegant, very very simple and yet powerful enough to give you the chance to have plenty of different approaches to solve the levels. Loved it, really. To the developer team, PLEASE MORE LIKE THIS

I would give it all fives if I were able to sequence actions. My ability to construct the ai is severely limited because control flow starts all the way back at the beginning as soon as the first valid action is executed. This game reminds me of Carnage Heart. I'm sure that the creators borrowed directly, and I must say I like how they removed the original barriers of the programming space. Regardless, that's not enough. There are still disappointing limitations. I would say it's a great start and it should be improved as soon as they can.

It's a great game. Not really good for a person looking for an easy win. The game takes a bit of skill, and a lot of trying strategies to see what works. Gladiabots is rewarding, since it takes a bit of time before you can start progressing, which just makes the victories sweeter. Very intuitive design mechanics for the AI builder.

Gladiabots has, without a doubt, the best tutorial I've ever seen in any programming game or strategy game. It leaves room for you to make mistakes and learn from them in a very natural way rather than forcing you to click on the exact spot it wants like too many titles. And as a programmer, it has a very natural flow and intuitive UI that even someone who has never played before would be able to pick it up. If you like puzzles and strategy, you should definitely pick this up.

awesome game, love it because its difficult. The negative comments regarding UI are true, i end up hitting the back button twice because it takes time to switch back to 3d mode. One hint for the developers though, change the music, i think fast paced generic rock isnt the best for keeping people playing, slow paced electronic music would be more suitable: for example, when playing Tiberian Sun, it was the soundtrack which made the game and the mood. either way, fantastic game, congrats

Best game in 2021 to play . Graphics are perfect considering the type of the game . And controls are very easy . U have to build your own ai in the game to fight . Its awesome . I just want to tell that there could be two things that could be done you know adding more robots and AI blocks and battle modes. As well as a friendly battle mode and group system (my opinion ) . But regrading of the music it's awesome . Music could be more good . As ur really making an AI in future like filling . ✌️

I used to love it years back, and then I got upset because of the multiplayer ranking feature that didn't allow you to use certain bots or something... But, I decided to come back to it. Still really complex and hard to get into, and I'm not a big fan of having to pay to unlock levels after Chapter 1. Otherwise, fairly well-made game.

Really good game. This game focuses on programming robots to destroy each other along with other tasks. I would say it is a similar game to Cell Lab: Evolution Sandbox and Conway's Game of Life. I'm leaving it a four star review because of the user interface. It can be crowded, overly busy, and feel disorienting at times. I understand that the game is very complex and needs to display a lot of information to the user however I think it could be improved. If the UI was better I'd give this a 5.

This is an exceptionally well made game. It has a unique concept and good tutorials for instructing new players. The idea of paying over one-hundred dollars for a special currency is a bit much, but the locked options are fairly in reach. All around well made game with the exception of the prices for a fictional currency.

This looks like a really awesome game, and I was utterly intrigued by the premise. After 5 minutes of an inescapable tutorial that kept me on rails and prevented me from actually playing, I decided it's not worth my time. People like me want the tutorial to be optional, so we don't necessarily have to slog through protracted spoonfeeding of instruction, especially when most of the information is readily apparent by looking at the UI.

This is a great app however it has a few issues. (E.g. I found the instruction hard to understand). The coding of the bots is really detailed however you can get lost. The app does have in-app purchases. I did buy 1000 points in order to unlock sandbox mode. The prices are fair for the content you get from it. Overall performance is good. Great App. - Thomas

A mobile-focused UI will make this game more successful. Swipes and taps, no zooming and dragging. Maybe like 1 "page" focuses the screen on a "branch" of processing left to right, and the UI will be locked to edit that "branch". Swiping left and right runs us through the branches, and at the same time simulates the code.

Yoo this game is amazing. Difficult as hell, but very satisfying once you beat a stage. You can program it for all cases, all in one, or you can design each program for every specific task but its inefficient and very cluttered. You really see what goes on in game design and ai behaviour. The way the ai logic works is so true as well. Wish I learned programming i would be better at deducing what my bugs are way easier.

Very interesting and fresh competitive gameplay involving premeditated strategy rather than reflexes. Its essentially chess, if you had to plan all your moves in advance and watch it play out against your opponents plan. Also helps to learn computer programming logic, although NO WRITTEN CODING is done in this game. Its all drag and drop blocks of code that you can customize.

2 stars because of limited team configuration options you have only 4 classes which can only be arranged into 8 configurations total.. you should be able to have as many of one class as you have slots for perhaps this decision ballances the game but each individual class should be balanced as well to allow at least 64 allowing as many robots of a single type be in the same team. This will give not only more freedom to team building but also give more competition, more problems, and more solution to solve those problems. You should also have a rematch system that allows you to add to your teams program after combat to find solutions to other players designs allowing for more growth to problem solving. Love the idea of the game though -sincerely Zweih

No option to select specific targets, could not find a way to upgrade bots, tutorial after beginner has no explanation. I won't be able to play the game like this. That said the design is nice other than the fact that there is so much repetition and nesting. I love the idea of the game and the feel of the GUI but I just can't win lol

Rob. S. Feb 13, 2020

This is the most amazing "game" I ever played. You invent the AI to program your own team of robots, who then compete against other teams in the arena. There are excellent tutorials and learning simulations before you take on the community of users. You have to think to win, and it makes a refreshing change from boring games where you can pay to win.

I wish there would had have been more singleplayer stuff, as multiplayer is rather...strange. The core idea is really really good, i never thought about such a game design, the alpha(?) was good too. Most ai designs are unique, which makes the game replayable due it being mp. It tends to be more situational than tactical and skillfully, as sometimes charging can lead to a win and often to a loss (same ai). More programming nodes and options would be appreciated. Have a nice play!
