Glass Road

Glass Road is the official tablet version of Uwe Rosenberg's Glass Road board game.
STORY: The Glass Road is a 150-mile long path through the Bavarian Forest near the border to the Czech Republic in Germany which was one of the biggest center of Glassworks and Brickworks in the 18th century and now you can become part of this world in this game.

== THE GAME == In Glass Road, you will produce glass and bricks and collect wood, clay and many other resources to build buildings and create your own landscape. To accomplish this task, you will need the help of a variety of specialists. You have to choose 5 of them in every round but when choosing your specialists, try to anticipate which ones your opponents will choose to use your own more effectively. So carefully choose cards that you think no other player will choose to use them more effectively, but also choose some that you think will be played by other players to benefit from that as well.

== PEOPLE ==What people said about the board game:

"This game is amazing! How much depth and how much consciousness there is, tide in such a small, tiny, fast, elegant game!" /Rahdo/

"Glass Road is a very deep and engaging euro that offers you a wealth of deep strategic and tactical choices and very little luck in a very short and elegant design. I would go as far as saying that there is no other game that I have played that achieves these levels of depth in that short of a playing time." /F. Liouville
- BGG/

"I started to play more and more and I realized all the subversive strategies in this game!.......In fact, from the Solo experience I really do enjoyed this game!" /Tox
- Crits Happen/

"If you’re a fan of Uwe Rosenberg’s other titles, get this game. If you like having many – almost too many – strategic choices to make in each turn, get this game. If the production wheel concept intrigues you, get this game. In short, if you want a good, fun, medium-weight Euro-style game add Glass Road to your collection." /Walt Mueller

App locks up after buying a building and placing it. Have tried the refund option with play store but was told my refund request does not meet with their refund policy ("As your item was available for immediate delivery you agreed to waive your statutory withdrawal period.") I didn't agree to any such thing. !!!! (i wonder WHICH apps on the store are NOT an 'immediate' purchase ???!!) Have tried contacting developer but emails do not get delivered, so this is the only way to try to resolve this. Also, have contacted all people i know advising them that purchasing any paid app is not advisable !!!!!!!

Even when set to English the card reference is in German. It is the core of the game.. Not good.

It crashes too much

I play this game in real life constantly, and I try to use this app as well, because the gameplay is amazing! But you need to fix the bugs with blue buildings - it makes the whole session glitch out and become unplayable if you try to use their effects! Also, without the ability to close the app and resume your session later, you have to play the game a half-hour at a time, which may prove difficult once you actually get to your metro stop or get a phone call or whatever.

I love Rosenberg's games, including Glass Road, but this is by far the worst implemented digital version of one of his games. It is laden with bugs. The game has been around for a while, and the developer has never taken the effort to improve the user experience. Very disappointing. I highly recommend the board game.

I bought an expensive end game scoring building, had the resources for it to win me the game, and it just didn't score the building at all as if I hadn't bought it. What's the point of playing then? It's also got graphical bugs. Tutorial played things out of order from the help text. References are in German. Don't waste your money.

It's buggy. I'm guessing 3/4 of the games I play lock up, so I never get to see how I did. Also, the end game scoring doesn't add out most of the time, so I will score it myself before I click the Finish button. I don't mind the interface, but I can't trust that I'll get to finish a game or even know the proper score if I do finish it. Also, the AI turns take way too long. I would not play versus 3 AI players ever. Sounds like these are ongoing complaints, and so I doubt anything will change in future. Maybe another company will take a stab at making an app version of this wonderful game.

Nice game, but too many bugs. It is very frustrating when the game doesn't let you choose the cards you want and it give you only the options to cancel but you loose your resources. The scoring of the game look more likes a lotery. Sometimes it doesn't give you the points and I had one time a score of 44 when I only build 2 buildings. It would be a nice game when all the bugs has been fixed.

Should have returned right away. Game would not run properly on any of my four devices. Contacted support, and by the time I realized they weren't going to get back to me the google refund window had passed.

Buggy, finished 1 out of 5 games without the app freezing. If it wasn't for that it would be a great game

Please please please add save feature. I love the game, but do not always have time to finish and need to save the game!

Pac. G. Nov 14, 2017

The three upgrades to the board/end game scoring do not work. I have tried multiple times and score by hand at the end and the sand, brick and glass upgrades to the base never score. They actually cause them not to score at all. Please fix.

Players must go through the tutorial before playing the game. Water Tower doesn't create lakes. Turns freeze after the fourth building phase. Rules are not accessible during game play. Leaving the app during a game and opening the app does not restore the existing game. I waited too long to play it, and now it's too late to get a refund. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME.

I am unable to buy buildings and the game continually hangs in round 4.

Nik. J. C. Dec 1, 2016

It hangs itself all the time, not totally busy enough that you think you can continue playing but you can't.

Pat. R. Nov 29, 2016

Great game with great, responsive devs.

Col. G. Oct 4, 2016

It is fun to play but 90% , I can't finish up the game especially the games hang in certain item I purchased /tile and I can't use the ability which one of them is "" roofing company tiles "". If i use the ability the game will go to hang. it make the games no longer fun to be played ... If no all the tiles can be purchased to avoid the hang situation... Kindly fixed the bug

Lacks an undo for (dumb) new players (Go back and let me place those FOUR sand pits!! why would I pay a victory point for ZERO?). At the end of my first solo game it went to Finish as I was converting one last good which cost me another two points. Hitting Finish showed my score but wouldn't let me click to see score breakout. Finally, I couldn't click OK at the end screen which means the game wasn't even logged. Interesting, but could use some polish.

Zac. C. Oct 26, 2016

Deadlock makes it unplayable. Also, there is no way to save the game in case of some unexpected event on my device.

Sim. B. Jul 10, 2016

AI locks up at end of game. No animations to show Ai thinking progress like a progress bar.

Fug. U. May 30, 2016

The good news: no more 15 second delays between turns! The bad news: The game still bugs out 2/3 solo games, months after release. It's still not functional.

Dav. B. Apr 17, 2016

Can't finish a game. Even when not frozen, the AI takes an inordinately long time to make a move. Someone needs to learn to code.

Problems still exceed fixes

Jim. D. Mar 20, 2016

I haven't experience any crashes but there are still issues that need to be fixed. Using processing buildings is an anytime action that you can use at anytime, unfortunately the game doesn't allow this because the game is always busy with the AI turn or waiting for you to play. I feel like a pause button would help to allow this. Also you really need the ability to look at boards at the end of the game and have a scoring breakdown. I had an issue with the game allowing me to play 3 bonus cards. 2 is max.

Ste. P. Mar 29, 2016

Good game but it would be nice at the end to see a breakdown of where every player's score was earned from, so you can see where you won or lost the game. Also, another person mentioned something about only being allowed to score 2 bonus buildings - is this true? I can't find this rule anywhere in the app, or anywhere in the rules pdf for the board game?

I realize the app is formatted for tablets, but I'm hoping for better formatting for phones and will eagerly wait for future updates. It runs alright, but there are some lock-ups due to un-intuitive UI mechanics. It took me a while to figure out that I had some resources to distribute before I could continue the game, but it presented itself like the game was frozen.

Dav. O. Mar 4, 2016

It looks nice and it has the same intriguing gameplay that Glass Road has always struck me with. But the AI is poor and it takes too long. Plus it is too hard to work out the other player's strategies and react to them. Perhaps the multiplayer will be good once enough people have got it.

Pau. J. Mar 5, 2016

Good app although the UI could be a bit cleaner; over-swiping on the board screen caused a debug menu to appear. Having trouble connecting to play online. Needs ability to save or resume a game in solo. Hopefully we'll get an update soon. Keep up the good work

This is my first experience with Glass Road and the app seems to be working well. I would like to see the details of the endgame scores, but have not found out how to do that. I like the adjustable AI speed that the game has. It has frozen up on me two times and I don't know what caused that. Overall I would recommend this app.
