I paid for subscription a few years ago and had excellent results. After the subscription recently, I renewed it, they took the money but have not re-activated the app. After asking 3 or 4 times for help, the response was delayed, told the app was reset, but nothing has been done. In order for the exercises to work you need to regularly use it. Since they won't reset the app, I cant progress at all. It is now useless and asking for a refund.
I have been using this app for years and if you use it according to their schedule, it works. At this stage (51 years), my farsightedness has progressed to the point where I just can't read small text on, say, a vitamin bottle. That said, regular newspaper reading is still possible. I'm giving them a low rating, however, because even though I auto renewed my subscription, the app locked me out. It's been almost a week and the company just sends autoreplies. Very unprofessional.
Extortionate pricing. Way happier with Ultimeyes ($0.99) Glasses Off's $9.99/mo for a 3 mo training suddenly turns into $59/yr if you want the "maintenance phase" to retain the effects. I didn't become aware of this till after investing many hours in the initial training. They used to offer lifetime access for an outrageous $159, then in the last few weeks they switched to an even more outrageous subscription only. So I switched to Ultimeyes. Much, much cheaper, way more fun.
Highly recommend. I wear prescription glasses/contacts for nearsightedness, with astigmatism in both eyes. I'm 41 and lately have been very uncomfortable reading things on my phone. Reading glasses are not an option for me, well, because I don't want them. LOL I have played with this app for 7 days now, and there is a significant improvement. I'm not squinting anymore to read my phone.
Took the vision test, it said my vision is nearly perfect. It's not - that's why I tried the app in the first place. I have presbyopia. Why would I trust an eye training app that can't even correctly diagnose my problem in the first place? I contacted customer support to see if they could clarify the situation, and their only response was 'you haven't started the training yet' - in other words, they didn't even bother reading my message about the incorrect results of the vision test.
I'm on stage 2 of 5. According to Glassoff app my sight has improved from 35% to 51%. From my assessment, I feel theirs an improvement indeed. I have not been using my glasses since commencement of the first session. For one, I noticed that the pain and tears usually accompanying my vision (due to straining) has stopped. I can't wait to see what improvement lies ahead as I complete the entire sessions. Great app. Worth the investment.
The product itself is well designed and I've been using it for a while. It does get boring after a while so it requires some determination to do it on a regular basis. However right now I've paid for one whole year and cannot use the app, with their support really slow to handle my complaint!
From my experience the app has been beneficial but, sadly, I seem to get locked out of my account every 3 months when my subscription renews. Previously my access has been restored eventually by Support but I've been unable to access it for weeks now. Therefore I've cancelled my subscription as there's no point paying for something I'm unable to use.
Like many others when Google Play auto renewed me, I cannot get access to the app. Only response from support is that it's a technical issue. This happened to me a few years ago but it was fixed and they were responsive then. It's too bad since this worked for me.
So pleased with this app. I'd recommend it to anyone. I believe it has helped my reading vision and also optic nenritis. Optic neuritis is not fixable by glasses. I pay a monthly subscription but think 8 per month is well worth it as I won't be shelling out for opticians glasses. I've been doing the program for two months and can now read the small print on the back of food packages. I wouldn't say my vision is back to how it was as a younger person but it's getting there. I've done 2 months
I cannot access my subscripion after I installed the app on a new device. It remembers where I am in terms of progress but is not allowing me to continue saying that I require a subscription even though I have one. Customer support is non-existent. I sent to emails but no responses were receivedm
In one month, I went from needing my reading glasses for ALL reading to rarely using them. I forgot to take them to work the other day but was able to manage just fine.
Loved the app during the free trial, but after I paid for the subscription, it still said "upgrade now". It was unusable after that. I contacted support and they said to uninstall and reinstall, but that didn't work. I've asked for a refund.
I did not see much improvement in my eyesight after at least a few months, so I requested to stop my subscription. However, I just found out today that they have continued to charge me every three months for at least over a year. This practice is extremely sneaky and unprofessional. I have sent an email to request a refund. I hope they will respond this time. Glasses Off has not responded to this review, probably because they want to keep my money that they "earned". Canceled via Google Pay.
Amazing app. I've gotten my eyes back. I felt the improvement after a few days and now keep my glasses in a drawer gathering dust. Not just my near vision that has improved, my eyes just feel better from the moment I wake up. These guys deserve a Nobel Prize. Keep up the good work.
This is a very terrible app. I get payments automatically taken out and they took my payment for the month of May, and I was not allowed access the whole month of May even though I have been inquiring about it in emails. When I finally got a response they said that it might be technical issues, but they never fixed the problem. Then they took out another payment today, and I still don't have access. It keeps telling me to upgrade before I can have access.
I found the initial test distressingly fast. Even the pre-test introduction. At least the app had the forthrightness after the test to tell me that they probably couldn't help me. Then it dumped me at a pay gate with no other information, feeling disoriented and distressed. Also why on earth did it need permissions to control my phone and storage? I remain hopeful that it might work for other people, but for me it was a very stressful and upsetting experience.
This app works. Period. all the people complaining about the price?!! This works out a lot cheaper that contact lenses, and expensive glasses, that you break and loose! what can be better, that just picking something up and reading it straight away?!
Not too impressed with this App. For one thing, the cost of $9.99 per month is unreasonable!! I can understand how it is rated only 3.5. Other eye exercise Apps I found in the Google Play Store are free. Another thing, there were only 5 exercises. Hardly a workout.
This app has changed my life. Not being able to even read a clothing label without glasses, having to use my phone camera to zoom in to read ingredients on bottles-it was having a huge impact on my quality of life. Now, I never even put my glasses on. My vision has improved beyond belief. You seriously have to try this app. Thank you so much to the makers of Glasses Off!
There's no the option anywhere in the app or website to end your subscription. I emailed support. No response in a week. Turns out you have to do it through the google store. Seems to be the only way to unsubscribe.
DO NOT INSTALL - Do not install any app that 'requires' access to unrelated services or features. This application 'requires' access to make and manage phone calls. There is absolutely no valid reason for this - I have never seen such an intrusive requirement that is clearly unrelated to the application. DO NOT INSTALL - this can only lead to bad things....
No response I signed up and bought the full package. Then contacted them and never got a response. I just changed my glasses and need to redo the initial evaluation which the app does not offer you. Is this a scam?
This is a terrible app. They say take your glasses off before starting the eye test, then the next step are the instructions- WHICH I CAN'T READ BECAUSE I HAVE MY GLASSES OFF. Then, you start the eye test, and I could not see the orientation of the symbol after the second slide, and the stupid app says I selected wrong and go back to the instructions and start again. I CAN'T SEE THE DAMN SYMBOL BECAUSE IT IS AN EYE TEST AND I CAN'T SEE THE ORIENTATION OF THE SYMBOL. Don't waste your time.
This "eye training app" needs access to make calls on my phone or it won't install. Ridiculous. Why would an eye trainer need to make phone calls? No thanks. And their response that they need to uniquely identify us in case we contact support? Absurd answer. That is not a valid reason.
I have been using the app for a few years. I am 59 years old, and while all my friends and relatives of about the same age depend on glasses, I have been able so far to manage without. My sight is not what it used to be, and from time to time, I need my wife's reading glasses to read some small print in low light, for most of my day to day activities, I do not use glasses. Actually, I could run weeks without touching glasses. The 15 minutes, three days a week are definitely worth my investment.
App claimed my subscription expired and requested me to upgrade, but googleplay kept billing me @ 11.99/ mo. Customer service emailed, but did nothing. So I cancelled the payment from my end to stop the googleplay payment process from continuing to take my money while giving me no access to the app. My refund request for the payments taken while the GlassOff ap claimed my subscription was expired was refused by GooglePlay on the grounds that 'does not fit within policy guidelines'
This app has definitely improved my eyesight! I was at the point of having to have reading glasses with me at all times - couldn't read normal print without them. After 3 months, I find I really don't need glasses at all, unless the room is really dark and the print very, very fine. I am very impressed. I found the app fun and easy to use - it's a little bit like a game. Also, there was a glitch in the app when I renewed my membership so I could not use it for several months. I finally contacted GlassesOff, and they went above and beyond to resolve the technical difficulty, and also added the time lost to my subscription. Very pleased with their service!
