This app is trash, it is confusing and difficult to use, makes you sign up with it to even be able to see the conditions which are insanely inaccurate. I write this review as I literally stand looking at County Line beach in north Malibu staring at 2-3 ft sets that the app is calling 7ft.....dont install, dont waste your time, if I could give 0 stars I would. I regret the time I spent trying to use this app, that time would have been better spent eating lead paint chips or fighting a bear.
Doesn't seem to work at all. There are lots of features and none of them work. If you try to sign up for an account, it locks up and you have to reinstall. But you can't get most of the features without an account. Won't connect to the watch they advertise on their website. Looks like an app that was developed with good intentions and then just never updated.
Great app with lots of potential! Used it for just about 1 year clocking surf trips with my wife. I understand that this is a free app but, it's been broken and unusable (Galaxy S9+) with no real updates coming it seems. I've sent two emails (1 from the app and one direct) to the team but there has been no responses. Makes me think the developer team terminated this project and the surf tracker band 🤷♂️ Pity....
This app is so buggy. Nothing saves. As soon as you click save it goes back to matsuka. You can't even turn off notifications. I'm using an S8. Also, all I want is good surf notifications, how is that not the main feature?
I am a software engineer and this app feels very poorly written and I don't trust the developer with my data. The app is always behaving erratically: saving forms sometimes does not save data. When you think you saved your infos after trying for the 5th time, the app would display your infos correctly but they would disappear after re-opening app. Navigating takes forever. Constantly trying to report usage to 3rd party app measurements and analytics that you can't turn off. I block those so I know. And forget about the watch app on my brand new Gen 5 Carlyle HR, unusable. WHY the sd card read/write permission? WHY any permissions at all?
Unable to add spots, unable to even change username, unable to sync with my Huawei smart Watch, really frustrating and not intuitive..keeps reverting back to login page. And then goes into a frozen state as will not accept credentials. Need to force shut down app to get back in. Please send instructions
Checked a number of local breaks and all the info was way out for all of them. Even the sunrise/sunset time was 2 hours out. Lazy work my friends, lazy work. Not sure if the details of many of the other breaks are as incorrect, but I'm deleting this app. Waste of time guys.
Pretty accurate forecast.... however, haven't been able to use app to full potential. Can't add photos, profile pic, surf details/history. No reply to my emails regarding these issues.
very cool, super complete and wonderful UI. But there are some bugs in Samsung Galaxy s9: impossible to save wind condition in a session and can't remove the default home spot.
This app. ruins the best part about surfing. The ability to escape into nature. If you want everyone and their grandmother to show up in the line up of your home break ,use this app. You can only check the forecast of a spot you have added. In doing so you are advertising it to anyone with this app. I immediately regretted my decision to try to use this app. And will deleting my account immediately.
seemingly forced me to create an account to view current conditions (why even let people in without an account? what is that zero state experience?) I updated my profile to include a local spot, name, and preferences for units and nothing persisted. I came back to the app and it thought my local spot was Mundaka or something and everything was in SI when I already chose imperial units. generally just not what I was expecting. I wanted a weather app for surfing, which should have no social aspect.
I am unable to login to the app using email, and I am not a FB user, so email is the only option for me. I am using a Samsung S7. Please advise. I will update my rating once I am able to actually use the app, but for now it's a total bust.
To much information and wildly inaccurate forecasts. surf was 2-3ft, Glassy said 6-7ft. Also keeps emailing after uninstalling. Have had to reinstall to try and find how to disable emails
not good. it kept going back to meters, centigrade etc., after I had reset it a number of times. Never able to set my chosen spots as a homepage.
Second time I tried to download. Company claims that you don't have to give all your personal information and can just sign up. I tried twice each time it replies there is an error and creating my account.
Worked great the first day....they i had to log in again for some reason, then it decided that the password was incorrect, so i reset my password and still wont let me log in or even create a new log in!
Couldn't even sign up. Keeps having an error and the app won't let me look at any information because I'm not signed in. Disappointing really
Looks like a great app but it won't let me change my local spot. I want it make it in the Netherlands but for some reason this app really wants me to surf Mundaka.
Not possible to change home spot and add personal spots in a list + endless pop ups. Takes ages to choose a spot and check forecast... Waste if time!!
App did work previously but now not working. Cannot create account / login, app just freezes and gives me an error. Pls fix. S10
I refuse to create an account to check this app. And after reading other reviews it seems like even if I wanted to create an accout it wouldn't work anyway. Waste of time here.
App does not load. Slow. No easy tide reports.. or info. Mostly because it wont load on Android.
The app looks good but it is very slow and stuck many times. You must improve performance
I don't understand why this app is so high rated. I can't even save my details, keeps showing random spots...
it's well set up and a nice looking interface, I cant speak to it's accuracy yet as I like 3 to 4 hours from the coast. I will say that it is a little difficult to read right off the bat. could probably be fixed with a quick rundown of what everything means. I will update when I see how accurate the forecasts are.
