:Edit After a bunch of playing around in my Bluetooth settings and trying to manually pair and failing also disconnected my earbuds. I was then able to connect with the app. So being such an aggravating experience trying to setup I will not give 5 stars. I was able to get it working and all settings are changing properly. I will make one suggestion. Change the update button name to "save settings". Won't connect with Bluetooth please fix so I can raise to 5 star
As people have stated their frustrations with this sign.. instructions say to connect with Bluetooth; this is wrong.. download the app, turn Bluetooth on on phone (don't pair them), open app, and the app will find the sign. Took me a while to figure this out and understand others frustration. I called the Support number and got no help in doing it this way. I had to unpair my phone from the sign because the instructions said to pair them, and this was causing an issue with the newest update.
Frustrating. Was able to connect and set up initially and works great for coming on and turning off. But it refuses to connect now so any changes or holidays can't be updated. Very disappointing for the price.
Doesn't connect at all. And to add insult to injury, Bluetooth on the phone shows two completely different models when trying to connect. Neither of which are what the sign SHOULD be. (B model will come up on phone is I and A) This is either a logistic or software issue.
Like others have described, the app refuses to connect to the sign. Neither Youtube links listed on the instruction booklet for connecting or troubleshooting work, and simply say 'video no longer available'. We currently have the GLI1057B, but when the sign is displayed on Bluetooth it shows two different model numbers (GLI1057.I and GLI1057.A).
The app works fine to connect and control a single sign. Unfortunately I've got 2 open signs and there's no way to run both of them at once. If the developer could add multi sign support then I would be more than happy to rate higher
This program and sign are great. Super bright and quite a few capabilities. Always connects and works. The only thing id ask is if we could get capabilities to dim the sign and maybe a few more effects. Yes im picky. But good job.
The update RUINED this app. Things worked well until the update. Then the app was asking for a PIN. I called the sign company. They were clueless. I have recently read a review from a guy named Nicholas Ewer. I'm following his instructions to make the app work since the update. Will update with results. I spent over $200 to be able to set an automatic schedule via the app. If I wanted to turn the sign on and off every day, I would have paid $40 for a sign without an app. SOMEONE FIX THIS APP!
Since your most recent update to the GLI open Sign app on the Google play store the sign does have the 12 hour time format now. However that is the only time format it will allow you to select. This is only a problem because in the on/off page of the app the off time will does NOT keep a PM time. After you set your off time and press select the app sets for an AM time. So now my sign turns on at the correct time in the morning, but will not shut itself off in the evening. Please correct this.
First day Bluetooth connection worked. Hasn't worked since. Tried both Apple and Android products. Seems this has been, and continues to be a problem.
Buy anything else, the BT doesn't work. Out of the box, powered on within an hour after purchase @ Sam's Club. I tried 2 Androids, 2 iPhones & NONE of them would connect. The model is GLI1057B, the Bluetooth shows GLI1058.A & GLI1057.i, neither of which work. The alleged "troubleshooting video" on YouTube is of no help at all. For $140 I would expect better, especially from a disabled military veteran owned company. At least I now know what company/design to not buy next on Amazon.
App works perfect. people who complained about the app didn't know they needed to select "update" after making changes. Developer, you can change "update" to "ENTER" to minimize confusion.
JUST READ THE DIRECTIONS! Installed the app and programmed the sign in less than ten minutes! No problem connecting to sign and app.
UPDATE: With the latest version update release the open part of the sign is not following the scheduled on off times. I'll have to see if an old phone still has old version.
For some reason it won't let me change to the 24 hour time. In setting where it should give me a choice between the 12 hour clock and the 24 hour clock it just has the 12 hour option. Great sign though and worth the money.
Refuses to connect I've tried everything, tech support is useless! Unless they can come up with something I'll be sending this $250 dollar sign back
don't buy this product. tried connecting 3 different phones to it. won't work. very disappointed in this product with a 200$ price tag
So I came across one of these signs in the trash and found out...... smh that someone had plugged in the wrong power pack so they thought it was broke and threw it away. Put the right one on and bam... my question is can I pull the small watch battery on the inside and re set the pin code?

This app has been a waste of time. Can't get an android or an iPhone to connect with the sign.
This is a pretty decent app that does what it is advertised to do. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that it has not yet been updated for the newest version of Android.

It remembers when I don't! I hooked up easily, I programmed on and off times, and I change the color whenever I want. They must have corrected everything since those other reviews kind of glad I didn't read those first. I've had no issues with the sign, I did have to ask a question from customer service and they answered within 5 minutes and got me back on track. Very pleased with it!
