Like trying to draw on the 30 foot ceiling with a 20 foot 2x4 and you just can't get it in the right spot need to slow down the graphics so you can point somewhere
Why it not compatible with samsung S4 active ?
This app offers a lot of great functions and is very intuitive to use. The project and plan organization is excellent. The export option is great for jobs and very professional looking. The 1 major annoyance is that manually setting a wall length often results in a "graphic adaption is not possible" error, requiring the wall length to be set graphically. This can really slow down a project since it's much quicker to draw a wall of arbitrary length and set the length manually after a measurement.
As an architect I am looking for something to make surveying spaces more efficient and productive. This isn't it. It only seems to draw walls. No doors,windows,millwork, ceiling elements or elevations. It wont even draw lines. You would still have to use a pad and pencil to draw anything so its not what a pro needs. Plus it wont export editable data to cad or revit. If this is what the bluetooth function on the glm is for then I will skip that feature when I buy a laser measuring tool.
I specifically bought the GLM 50 with Bluetooth just to use with this app. After receiving a "failed to create PDF" error multiple times I called customer support who told me my Samsung Tab A (which I also just bought for this app) is not compatible with the app. They need to tell people before they purchase the tool that not all android tablets work with the app!
This is a useful app, but its lacking what should have been basic features. It lacks the ability to copy an existing project into a new one. First, this would be beneficial for multi-floor plans so you could transfer all walls to the new floor and delete those that aren't needed while keeping those you do. Second, it'd allow the user to make variations of the plan much easier. I really can't this isn't an option. Once they add it in, 5 stars.
This is quite possibly the worst app that I have ever used with one of the most user-unfriendly interfaces that I have ever seen. It is a pathetic attempt by an old guard company to appear as if they are servicing the modern, technology-savvy clientele. It's as if they decided just to release something/anything to appear like they were keeping up. The good news is this technology space his ripe with new innovations from other start-up firms that will hopefully bury Bosch in the not-too-distant future.
The app is essentially useless because it is incapable of auto resizing wall lengths based on measured values. Then trying to manually drag the wall length to match the measured value is essentially impossible. Incredibly disappointed that I spent the extra money for the bluetooth function Bosch.
Issues: Crashes when I input messurment values using the mesuring tool. There is no way to group walls togerther and move them about the project. I don't know why is say's "The values input will show on the floor plan but moving the walls are impossable to move." but then other times it moves them just fine. When using the app for large jobs, like a warehouse, the map or drafting board doesn't scroll all the way to the edge when zoomed in. Making it impossable to draft large jobs. 80'x40' is the max i can work with. There are not a lot of instructional videos for this app. That will change with time. I can't figure out how to copy, anything. Plans, walls. I need a copy/paste function. The good news: It is a gorgeous app and flows nicely. The bluetooth messurment transfer works well and exporting a pdf from the app is handy. Over all is is a nice app and using it with the tool is cool. The scrolling issue and the crashing with the messuring tool is really frustrating. fix those thing and I will give it another star. Make a paid app that can be used on a PC and I will buy it. Tablets are cool and sleek but a mouse pad and keyboard work much faster. Cheers!
Only the first shape drawn on the screen will auto scale with incoming measurements from Glm measuring device. After that, every line drawn must be MANUALLY pulled to the correct length using the GUI. This is absolutely no use for anyone trying to survey in the real world. Is this likely to be fixed or have I wasted a small fortune on a device not fit for purpose? Further to your feedback below, your suggestion DOES NOT fix my issue. If you genuinely wish to improve the app, please re-read my complaint and answer accordingly or contact me direct for a thorough discussion.
I should be able to just sketch an outline, click on each wall and measure it. It's less trouble to just type the measurements in than selecting from a list.
Robert Bosch GmbH, You had replied to my review saying that the issue was resolved, its not. If you draw 4 walls with ALL walls being equal in measurement then yes, the walls will lock. But in the real world there are no equal wall so I will give you an example to try; Draw a square room with all measurements being 123" on the interior walls. Then try changing one wall to 124" and its paralleled wall to 125", the walls will not lock. By not being able to lock it will give you a bogus measurement when you try to open "wall view" and add in doors and windows. Please don't tell me its been fixed. The sad thing is I was told by someone in your customer service department that the issue couldn't be fixed last week because there was an "important meeting" that EVERYONE in the app department had to fly to Germany to take care of ?!? WOW really? So clearly no one cares to fix the problem. Like I said before, "Back to pen and paper!"
Great great tool. We need a way to draw beams and columns. Line tool for beams and round or square for posts. Thanks in advance
This is a good app, but I am not sure why it is not pairing with my Bluetooth PLR40C. If it only works with the GLM series then that seems counter-intuitive as the PLR have bluetooth built in.
Not sure why the low star on some reviews, it's a free app you can build rooms add doors windows pictures and more, it's a great app for room layouts
App force closes when using several features. This could be awesome if everything gets worked out
Bought the GLM 100c hoping to use with this app. But this app happened to be a total waste of time and disappointment! Wonder if you really have an idea how a floor plan should be drawn/measured?
App works with brand new GLM 50 CX and older Asus TF700T tablet running Android 4.2.1, but won't load onto Moto X running Android 5.1. Is there an update in the works? I have a short time frame to return the Bosch unit if it is not comparable, so would like an answer...
Why won't it create pdf..??? I have a Samsung tab galaxy tab e. Sm-t561
The app is decent but, WILL not export in inches when I try to email a plan in PDF format. I have tried many different ways to export in email to myself and it will only come up as meters when I receive. And, yes, I did change to inches before exporting. I am using the app on an android device so maybe this is the problem. I would probably be give a four star rating if the export to PDF function worked properly. But it does not.

As a contractor, this works great in conjunction with the laser measure. Can measure and draw rooms accurately in no time. The new way it sends in PDF is great. I could rate this a 5 if you fix how it sends measurements in PDF. No matter what yyou select, it will only send measurements in meters. Please fix andd you will get a 5 from me
Yes I know the app states GLM however I do not understand why the app can't support other bluetooth devices from Bosch.
This is a really great app, quick for drawing plans and measuring, the photo and note feature is perfect, as a data installer I would like to be able to add different symbols and it would be neat to see them on the main plan image like the camera and note icon, even as an option? rather than keep going into the wall view. for me the extra functions would be 5 stars for sure.

I don't own a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Tried emulating one on Windows, but Bluetooth doesn't work in emulation. Any future support for a Samsung Note 5 or Windows Surface 4?
