Yet another regression, the app displays an annoying permanent notification on Android phones. Despite the responses to other people's complaints, I am aware that this problem occurred previously, and was fixed, so it's not a limitation of Android at all. The support email bounced with message saying to use corporate website.
GlobalProtect keeps opening in the background and running when I am not using it, which also forces an annoying notification that I can't get rid of unless I go into Settings > Apps > GlobalProtect > Force Close. Super annoying! Make it stop running out of nowhere! Otherwise, I have to use this for work and it works fine.
Version 5.2.11 Works great for the actual VPN connection. +5 Once you have initiated a connection attempt, there is no way to cancel it. -1 There is a useless notification that can't be removed that just says the app is running. -3 Total 1/5 stars.
Great product to dramatically improve the security of corporate devices and networks. The ability to properly protect all the network traffic to the devices, including phones, makes those devicesuch safer to use, in any situation. Only issues we've encountered had to do with our firewall end, not this app, and were quickly resolved.
Stopped working with latest update. VPN says login was successful, but the app window always shows connecting. Never times out...must force kill. Persistent notification is annoying.
It is more of an sms service through WhatsApp. Can't even download documents with it. Let alone a simple picture or a voice note. Some websites are not supported
When I try to login with my work account, it opens a login page and after successful logining I cannot close the login page. Only after restarting the app it shows a main page in the app, but I need to login again. A Vicious circle...
Constant notification that it's running, even and especially when it most certainly is not. Fix this!
Global wants to be enabled all the time and is constantly running even when I don't want it to. A theme I've seen on my laptop as well. Can you guys fix this, when I want to use the service I will. I have no need for it to be constantly on.
The app is starting in the background without me telling it to start up. Dev team, can you please fix this. This has been an issue since updating to android 12.
Persistent notification that GlobalProtect is running even though not in use. Why is app running when not in use? It must be draining the battery.
Is there a way to get the app to not run in the background when not connected? It's annoying and not necessary. Version 6.0.1-3.
Why is GlobalProtect now giving me a permanent notification on Android that it is running... when it's not connected? This is a pointless notification. It's like saying "Hi I exist". Sure notify me if the VPN is connected by don't notify me to tell me the app is installed on my phone even when not connected that's just incredibly dumb.
The app shows a persistent notification that it is running, even when I'm not connected to the VPN. This is concerning and annoying. This issue only started recently.

Notification never goes away, even when I disconnect the VPN. Only way to make the notification stop is if I force shut down the app
Whenever Im not using the app, it periodically loads a continuous notification "globalprotect is running" WT-F, uninstalling when not used.
Stopped working for Android system. Only catered for iOS. Must have some benefit gained from Apple. Lousy.

Works well on a stable connection. Sometimes when my network changes (e.g. from WiFi to cellular) I have to refresh the connection manually which isn't great for non-techy users as the app doesn't even acknowledge a problem (similar to the Windows app but far more frequent on Android). Also, I despise the persistent notifications. Please sort this.
The pop-up saying "the network connection is unreachable..." is completely useless and annoying. Please remove it. I don't have to contact support about it. I know that the connection to the VPN has failed. I don't disconnect from the VPN before turning off my WiFi or before switching from WiFi to mobile data. So I'm OK and aware that the VPN connection failed (I also see that the icon that looks like a key has disappeared from the notification bar). So don't show me yet another notification
Persistent notification on newest version of Android. Completely unacceptable. After security update on Pixel 2, running Android 10 my phone turns on with an always on notification from global protect. I haven't touched the app and has nothing to do with while the VPN is active. Only way to clear the notification is to disable notifications entirely. I sent a screenshot to your contact email and got a we don't care about your emails response. If only there was a 0 star option.
AVOID IF POSSIBLE, most unreliable vpn I've ever used. crashes and disconnects constantly. if an error occurs then just shows a white screen and you cant even restart the app to fix it, you have to reboot the phone. also you cant change any settings, it always defaults to the worst option and you have to change it every time. what highschooler made this for their hackathon?
My personal experience until now is quite good. No complains until now, happy with it. Thank you PA.
They show a notification that global protect is running despite the fact that the app is not running.
Come on, guys, fix the issue with the notification service already!

Iam unable to connect to global protect do i need any license, if yes can some one send the part number for that
Not sure what happened but this latest version must have a bug. Can't connect after the initial successful connection. You'd have to uninstall and reinstall in order to connect again. It never prompts you to enter your token the second time. Please fix or this thing is pretty much useless.
Constant notification that GlobalProtect is Running. Lacks settings to mute / configure which notification are displayed. Obviously I could care less if it's "running" I care if it's connected, I care if it's WAS connected and now is not connected. Also can this thing have multiple gateways configured? I have a need for multiple gateway configurations and have then be easily selected.
