I thought it would come with some music. Getting it to connect odd a nightmare. I use LOR outside and wanted something fun and easy for in the house. I will probably get another LOR for inside next year. I have the same issues as everybody else, and 3 channels is really lame when I'm used to the 80 outside.

Everything worked perfectly until 4 days before Christmas the satellite box went out. I might buy another one next year if they work the bugs out. To those having problems you must hook up the wifi before you load into this app or it will not work right. If you do it out of order it simply does not work. You must back out all the way out of the app and then re login again only after the wifi connected

I bought the high end unit with music, programming etc... The main box drops WiFi continuously and the phone defaults back to home WiFi. You literally have to log out of your home WiFi, just to connect to this box, then after you set it, it will stay on that program for a bit, then default back to oem program. Then after your home timer for the main electrical feed shuts down and restarts the night you have to do it all over again each night after that, as though it has no memory.

The most important thing to understand is that the speaker and the controller are completely independent. The speaker connects via bluetooth, and the controller connects via WiFi. To control with the app, you must join the GloTEC wifi channel. The bluetooth connection is only for streaming music. The worst part about the system is that the controller goes back to sequencing programs when the app disconnects, so it's not useful to control from a phone.

This app controls the Holiday Brilliant Light and Sound Show, sold at Lowe's. The app itself is fairly straightforward and easy to use for switching between modes. I give it 4 stars for that. I haven't tried "programming" mode. As another user mentioned, you need to make sure you're connected to your new GloTec wifi network, which I had no problem doing on an LG Optimus 9. No problem, easy peasy. The package itself, though, is not worth $144 retail. I picked it up after Christmas for $35, which I think is about a fair price for a 3-channel controller with music (and terrible, seizure-inducing, sensor mode). If you're looking at this for full retail, spend $200 and get into fully programmable 16 channel systems.

Read the directions...it has worked for me right from the get go without fail. If you morons actually read the Instructions instead of acting like a kid on Christmas morning and tearing into it and expecting it to magically work, you wouldn't have any issues.

The box makes you think it is a light show. It isn't. Other than having it controlled with your phone/tablet, the $39, simple remote unit does the same thing. The 16 preset modes work once you figure out how to get it to connect, but it's very limited. The instructions are useless. The box also leads you to believe that you have the main controller and 3 separate satellites, thus 6 outlets, but they are just duplicates of the outlets on the main box. So you actually only have 3 different outlets. So functions like chase are petty lame with only 3 sets of lights. Power is pretty limited @ roughly 4A per box too. The programming flat out doesn't work at all. It randomly will just blink or do nothing at all. Junk. Also you will likely need 2 devices to control it if you truly want to stream live music. Once you connect via WiFi you obviously sacrifice your other data connection to the internet. On my device I couldn't stay connected via wifi and also Bluetooth, so I had to use another device to control the music. Too many weird glitches and the fact that the programming doesn't work, it's going back tomorrow. A nice idea, but not there yet.

It's really a neat system... However, I am disappointed that "Sensor Mode" is not useful at all. It hardly turns on the lights unless the volume is at MAX level! Why in the world would it be designed in a way to have volume contrl the sensitivity? ----- Update In an obscure place in the instruction manual, it says the louder the music plays, (and the closer you place the main control unit to the speaker), the more sensitive the lightshow will be. So put the box with 3 plugs right in front of speaker!

The app is horrible you have no way of knowing if it is actually talking to the control unit the hard ware is also takes a long time to get to turn on and then does not do what you are asking it. It does not sync to music easily. I would return it if I could.

I bought two and had to return both. The control units won't pair with an Android smartphone. No problems pairing the speaker to my Android phone but the app doesn't work. I could stream music to the speaker but the app provides no control. Either the app or the system or both will not work with Android smart phones.

First of all READ THE DIRECTIONS! The unit works great out of the box once you read the directions. I would recommend using my mp3 files on an SD Memory card to play the music. Samsung Galaxy s5 active is the phone I used to control the lighting speed and brightness. The unit has 6 channels that are really only visable when on the siezure inducing sensor mode. It will independently control 6 different functions. The speaker is great and clear and loud. Other functions work great.

Does not work. Wifi cant find signal I had manually ad it on the wifi and then it still takes a long time to connect after clicking connect 50 times in a row. When I finally got it to connect to its wifi I went to the app and NOTHING IT DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

chr. s. Nov 10, 2016

I tried 3 devices and nothing could pick up the signal. Piece of junk and a waste of $100.00

Just bought this yesterday, have been trying to get the "sensor mode" to work, but when I connect to the Glotec wifi and connect with bluetooth and log in, the lights stop working but the music will play. Plus receivers 1 &2 don't work. I called the customer service and they said sounds like a faulty system, "duh," you think? I am taking this back tomorrow, waste of $144.

Noe. G. Nov 25, 2013

I bought one yesterday and didn't work for me as it won't allow me to change the mode. After several hours of trial and error, I finally decided I'm going to exchange it for a different one. When I got home today, I tried the 2nd unit and spent about an hour trying to figure it out. Finally, I put down my android phone and try to configure it with my tablet. Eureka! I was able to connect to it and got all the functions to work, including the sensor mode. So, I am now ready to put my lights up and decorate for Christmas. I believe the manual is missing some critical information. First, if your android phone doesn't work, try using a tablet (I have a Coby). You need to remember that you must be connected to the Glotec Wifi under your Wifi settings on your android or tablet. Once you're connected, open your GloTec application and login. When changing the mode, try pressing the play and pause until the unit recognized the mode desired.

Oli. E. Nov 18, 2015

We have had this product for two years now and use it for Halloween and Christmas. The neighborhood loves it and we often get comments on our light and sound show.

Dav. O. Nov 24, 2013

I have everything working except for the sensor mode to synk with the music.... but I cam get the lights to dim, control the speed of the lights and it plays music pretty well.

We got the wifi to work through my droid but can not seem to be able to set up the programs or sensor mode. Don't have a tablet and I couldn't seem to download onto my pc. So I guess I wait until monday when they are open to help me out.
