GLTools is a custom OpenGLES driver (proxy), that is compatible with any known OpenGLES 2.0-compatible GPU + ARM or x86 processor. If you still don't understand, what this app is, the closest known analog is Chainfire3D.Features list:
- Change resolution and rendering bitness in any app, even if it doesn't support that by default.
- Change GPU name and enjoy enhanced graphics even on a noname low-end GPU.
- Take full control over textures: now you can decompress/recompress them (even if your GPU doesn't support that texture format) and resize. Note that decompression feature is available only if you'll install a plugin (internet is required to do that)
- Optimize shaders on-the-fly for optimal performance (the same optimizer is used in Unity3D engine by default)
- Enable MSAA or CSAA in any app to improve graphics quality (make sure that your GPU supports that)
- Measure gained performance with a nice onscreen FPS counter (or you can output FPS information to Logcat if you are a pro)
GLTools is 100% safe if you have a custom recovery installed (and you didn't disable backup in GLTools install dialog), if you'll find it non-working, you can just flash uninstall_gltools.zip in recovery and email me with details (or request a refund). If you don't have one, it is NOT safe, just like any other system-related tool, make sure that you are able to recover your firmware in case of any problems.

- Nexus 6 @ Android 6.0.1
- Stock Nvidia Shield firmwares
- Some games fail to work on devices with Mail GPU even with GLTools enabled. Adreno is supported much better.
Not working by design on:
- RemixOS.
- Non-rooted devices.
- Emulators of any kind.

It's a fantastic app. It made my device run games I never thought it could! However I could no longer use it as it won't install on my device after the recent update. My device is rooted and I've checked it many times.
The app used to work great for me, however, after the update, it wont install the plug in. The app hangs up while installing the plugin. I tried installing using recovery, and through magisk, both hangs up. If using the "install" it hangs up on "contacting your su binary". Galaxy s6, rooted with magisk.
Absolutely essential app for power users w/ rooted budget phones. Combined with game tuner from samsung my games run blazing fast and stable. Thank you very much for this wonderful app. Kudos to the developer
its the best app for a rooted phone to game in high settings! i use it in all my games. however, recently i had problem on pubg and on it ONLY. it has black squares and pink fences. i only use glsl shaders, adreno 630, 8gb cpu/ram. it works on every game except pubg but only on my tmobile galaxy note 3 on android pie by haggertk 20181019 with lolz kernel 6.2. i am a rom switcher always clean install (delete EVERYTHING) from lineage 14 up to now. i did not tried it on deodexed/rooted stock version though.
I just purchases this an our ago. My problem is that any of the GPU adreno or Mali won't work on Mobile Legend Game. Before I was using the pirated version of this just to be sure but after I bought it, It won't work. Please fix asap. I already enabled storage permission.
Works as intended. Allowed me to run Half Life 2 on a normally incompatible phone, and helped optimize graphics elsewhere.
If you ever ever reconsider creating a Vulkan API support on: Google Pixel / Pixel XL or newer Nexus 6P (Android N Devices) Galaxy S7 (Mali & Adreno variants) Galaxy S8 Galaxy S9 Razer Gaming Phone. I might even invest more because I want to reach it's limitless potential and there are so many possibilities to make that happen I'm sure of it what you just need is time,effort and work.

For some reason screws my data connection (H+) becaming impossible to use. Mali zenfone go. Tried again and working good. After instaling whrn system reboot apears a message saying that sim card has changed. Just needed ti aply modifications. But had to reinstall firmware to do so. 5stars now
Wouldn't load without disabling 16 bit. Currently installed on Cubot H3. All games work perfectly fine without it but I don't see any improvements at all. With 16 bit forced all games will force close themselves.
I'm sure the app works wonderfully but since I have no root access I cannot use the app, and I have no idea how to root my device. So I'll leave my review at a solid 3.

Great app. When you're rooted, best app to use if you want to game high definition games but don't have the budget to get a new phone. Well optimised, functional design interface, for advanced users who wants to get the best out of their low end/mid spec phones.
