Cannot find most products-even if they are not store brands. It also told me something I absolutely knew had gluten, did not have gluten. Would be great if the creators stepped up their act and improved this application.
The scanned item is hardly ever what pops up, but since the last update the scanner doesn't work at all. It switches to something like a bar code scanner but with a gray screen. Could be an awesome app for those of us eating gluten free, but is far from it right now.
Great concept; just what I need for my wife's celiac disease, but it doesn't seem to work with the Atrix. 2. The scanner window is just one big grey screen, like it cant' find the camera.
its a great idea, BUT i read, most people said it was rubbish but i would give it a go. i had a bottle of Pepsi to hand, scanned it and told me its Pepsi, tapped to find out more, and it had no info AT ALL about it. it had no search results!! could be an amazing app if made by the correct people
Brilliant idea. Sadly it only recognizes about 20 things, and as it doesn't tell you if they contain gluten it can;t really say it does what it says on the tin. Frankly I don't need an App that tells me the bar-code from a bottle of Mayonnaise I;m holding is from a bottle of Mayonnaise. I've only given it one star because I can;t give it none at all, or -5!
If I could give 0 stars I would. Tried scanning 3 labels all 3 said item currently not available. Worthless.
Only recognized an average of 1 out of 5 products, and didn't say if they were GF or not.
Would give it zero stars if I could. Anything you Scan comes back with suggestion for ketchup.
Will be trying to scan for a very long time and just not register a barcode. It worked once and said it didnt recognise the product. Now know its not a gluten free product as i got pains from it.
Useless. I scanned ener g bread that's gf. It new what it was. But still took me to other products even though this is gf. Wtf
Barcode scanner remains grey, never accesses camera, has odd yellow dot that hovers in reference to accelerometer
Recognised 2 of the 20 items I scanned.I scanned Kraft pb that is gf. It suggested non gf granola bars! Waste of time.
The bar code scanner doesn't show the picture until after the scan is complete making it hard to tell where the bar code is on the product.
I'm sticking with the net. If I'm scanning a bar code i want info on that product. Not something further from related somewhere else other then where
I don't no if the database is incomplete or usefulness. But I don't find nothing scanned. Good idea, bad application.
Very useful. Hope to see it grow from the community more. Should go straight to product page after scan if theres an exact match.
The other reviews are right...this app is good in theory but completely useless in practicality. It didn't have gluten information for 99% of what I scanned and it was all name brand products.
Comparavle aps work fine. This one is unable find my network connection. Fail
DROIDX - scanner doesn't work. The LED Flashlights turn on but it doesn't start camera
This is a great idea I love just tp scan an item them read everything in it. But unfortunately it didn't pick up any products
Does not search for a specific product, just a category, like hot dogs. Will then direct you to a sponsor's product. Very lame scam.
Like everyone says. It gives you a huge list. It's easier to just check the ingredients yourself and is more accurate.
This app is simply an ad generator. When you scan a GF product in its data base it doesn't confirm it is GF, it takes you to ad for a similar product
If it recognized the product after scanning, it showed up on bottom, as one line of white text, with name of product, but is it gluten free or not? can't tell! so being an experimenter, no idea if canned Dak ham is gluten free yet...it gave me other "similar" products, but the Dak ham, who knows. So i say i will scan Mystic Chai spiced tea mix, clearly labeled gluten free, same thing, one line white, text, and shows me other producfs i couldn't care the least about...Waste of time!
This app simply either doesnt work or is terribly non user friendly. When you scan items it lists items both containing and not containing gluten.
This app is a seriously good idea and exactly what i was looking for. If only it worked properly. Some items it won't recognise and others it does but then can't find the information. Get it working properly and i will make a lot of peoples lives better. Steve
The bar code would be great if it had products loaded out of 10 bar coded yea none were in.
Not an active working version. You have to upgrade and pay a fee to get the version that let's you know if the item is gluten free. Bait & switch.
If you are familiar with the celiacces website, you will love this scanner. Scan an items bar code and this gives you a list of similar items. If your item is in the database, it will be listed at the top. Sometimes a specific item isn't listed, but another similar one from the same manufacturer is, and when selected you'll often see the gluten free statement from that manufacturer which can include the item you were looking for originally, or a link to a gluten free product list will be included. Love!
