Gmail

Nice app, work with different accounts and that is great. Although, there is some bugs/missing features. For instance, when you receive a notification, the action buttons of the notification are not always the same (google accounts have archive/reply, Microsoft accounts have delete/reply). I would like to be able to at least mark as read/reply emails from notifications with all accounts. Also, notifications disappear when you open your mail box and marking emails as unread don't bring it back.

Can't download or view attachments. Yes I've tried all of the obvious fixes. It's impossible to click in the link on your response. Clicked on link, totally useless. There is no "I'm getting a warning message" section. Found the solution myself, not that Google would ever be interested or provide the info to anyone else. Don't select "always open with" when opening attachments. If you do, delete account from phone, reinstall then never select it again and you can download attachments.

Since last update, the Gmail app no longer let's me see all my emails in the Inbox (it let's me see about half a day, then switches over to really old emails/promotions). I can no longer access any of my folders (Sent, Drafts, Starred, etc). It just says the folders are empty, but they aren't. Please get the app fixed. I rely on it heavily throughout the day. As of now, I have to wait til I get home and check email on the computer.

No longer good. EDIT: Gladly. I'm no longer able to set up enterprise Exchange e-mail as IMAP because latest Gmail app version does not allow you to configure authentication manually before it asks for password. Even after clicking to configure manually, no options are given if you don't provide credentials, which makes no sense. That's like putting a cart before the horse. Also, when it worked, Exchange account would regularly get blank screen when attempting to check inbox. I've tested this on multiple Pixel phones with same results. This app was much more functional even a year ago. It's rare for apps to get much worse over time, but this is an instance of that.

The app got worse and worse. It was working properly, but I'm not able to get instant notifications anymore. The app loads the new emails when I open the app. What's the point then? The phone is not on battery saver, every notification option in the app and in the phone settings are enabled, but still nothing. It's probably a bug in Xiaomi which definitely needs to be fixed!

App works well enough, until you need to search for past emails. For some reason, this brings up a load of random results that aren't even relevant to your search, but rarely the actual email you're looking for! Makes absolutely no sense and is incredibly frustrating, often have to resort to using the web based version of hotmail if I need to do this. Can't mark emails as unread (should you read something, but need to action it later). Does the basics okay though.

The safest email app, with options to customize the display and folders. Even though it automatically sends the 'Spam" into the spam folder, I hope it could simply stop such emails before they take up space in the Google Drive storage and avoid the need for timely deletion. Promotional messages and unsubscribed emails still reach the email, but you can skip/skim them easily. The content display is very much appreciated, as it is easy to use.

The way previous emails in an email chain are displayed could be better. When you scroll down to read previous emails, the text gets pushed more and more to the right. It just makes it impractical to read the emails. Especially for eg 4 emails ago. I don't understand why it doesn't just appear like outlook does. It's simple and easy to follow

Hi, actually my notifications always doesn't working and can't show on my status phone bar. Idk why I have checked my settings to make sure there's always have top up notification on my phone, but isn't running smoothly. When I want to send my email to someone, then there's already sent it to my inbox but can't give me some notification. I hope u consider this issues and fix as soon as possible. Thank you.

You have lost the pedestal for "Best Emailing System". I don't mean to be this harsh but in my opinion, it's true. Gmail just doesn't work anymore. I deleted it and downloaded it just to see if I could fix the problems I was having last time. But guess what, it took away the Google Chat Portion of the app. Fix this as well as the Slow Loading Bug and the Storage Bug. I really need to use this app.

I am unable to send via mobile data or WiFi. I have both data available and WiFi is working. Sometimes it will send an email with attachment on mobile data or WiFi and other times not and sometimes if not most times both don't work. It's frustrating. Same happens with incoming mail as well. At times it allows me to download the attachment most times not.

One star because I'm unable to send emails with attachments...ones without an attachment go through just fine! But you add an attachment, it just goes straight to the Outbox! (And yes, I've tried resending them to no avail...) EDIT:Yes, I *did* try the forums, but they were all just complaints about the attachment issue with the responses "locked" with no way suggested way to fix it!

The only thing I like about the app is that it matches material you theme. Other than that it is very poorly designed. Anything and everything that is/was HTML is attached at the bottom of the body of the mail. If it is a thread, there could multiple useless attachments, such as people's signatures etc. You have to scroll through all that to find real attachments that were sent to you for review. Seriously? No HTML signature. This is supposed to be a business oriented email app.

I've always liked how easy Gmail is to use and navigate. However, what makes me irritated is that you can only delete one email at a time or you have to click on each individual one after you highlight the first one. I would give you 5 Sars if this function was available to click a button to select all emails and delete them ALL! This would be a huge time saver!!

"The Gmail app is no longer opening. I woke up to this morning, trying to check my email and each time I try to open the Gmail app, it crashes, without any errors message. I've restarted my phone, same problem. Every other app is working well apart from the Gmail app. The app is up to date. It is on automatic update". After Google responded, I tried their suggestion and did a system update and it works. I've increased the stars to 4 from 1.

Last few weeks I stopped getting email notifications. Checked and double checked that notifications are turned on in the app and phone settings. All sync options are turned on but still nothing!!!!! NO ICONS, NO SOUNDS NO VIBRATIONS. I have to open and refresh app constantly or miss important time sensitive emails. This makes me look incredibly irresponsible and unprofessional to my boss and my clients. AHHHHH!!!!!

EDIT: It is now good and I'm not experiencing bugs so far. I've got one suggestion, in Google Chat, when sending pictures, please let us send multiple images at once. Having to send pictures one by one is a hassle to the users. Either show the pictures in grid format like Facebook Messenger or have a overlay of pictures like in iOS when sending them.

Haven't been able to check my main account for over a week on my phone. Have just reported the issue for the second time since the first time no one contacted me about it. Edit.: my Gmail app keeps getting stuck on "Getting your messages" for about two weeks now. Ive tried to re-install, cleared some space in my account just in case and no change, happened overnight and has been like that ever since and only in one of my accounts. Would love to see this resolved so please let me know if you need more info. 2ndEdit: Thank you! It solved the issue!

This app is broken.No emails are being sent, their all in the outbox and say queued, but are not sent. It doesn't stay on "all inboxes", it keeps switching back to just one of my email accounts. It also keeps showing emails I deleted, as unread over and over. I keep having to delete the same emails many times. have been sending feedback about this probably 100 times at least over the last 2 and a half years, yet still nothing has been done. Still not fixed.

The "view more " option on the Imap accounts that can't be disabled is a useless nuisance. Well since about 2 months there is a "view more" displayed in the middle of long emails. You have to click it to see the full message. I searched long to disable this but learned it only comes on Imap and can't be disabled. Thanks for looking at this.

I have no idea why the app keeps on crashing, I have done everything from restarting my phone, uninstalling/installing and clearing the cache/data and still keeps crashing, I've sent more than one error report but I just have no idea what to do and I can only get to my email in a mobile web browser. Alright so to me it sounds like you are saying there is nothing that can be done for it to be fixed and I will just be stuck with it until it fixes itself or if a new app update will fix it Thanks.

"Move to“ does not work in my gMail app AGAIN. I have Android 12 up to date on my Pixel 6 Pro. When I try to move one or more emails to a folder, it appears to do so, but when I refresh the email is back in, or still in, my inbox. Restarting the app did not work. Restarting the phone did not work, either. Edited: I tried the lame suggestions in the link provided in the developer's response, but they were so outdated that some didn't even apply any longer. STILL can't use 'Move to"

I never get notifications for new emails unless I manually open the app and refresh it. I will receive and view a new email and then it will disappear entirely - not even found when searched for (and hasn't been deleted - It's right there when I open up my emails on my web browser). It's been 2 years since my last review and nothing has changed.

Excelent app, way easier to swipe than to press the arrows in my iphone's mail app, i use it all the time! sometimes you send out an important emai and you're expecting back reply, it be nice to mark a message to be notified specifically about a reply from that email or domain, i mean with out having to set up filters or nothing like that, thanks again!

I'm no longer getting notifications. I have checked that both notification settings in the app and my phone are turned on and that it is set up to sync. I'm only able to see new emails if I open the app and refresh it. I have been given the same response from Google to follow some steps on a provoded link each time. They DON'T WORK. This is very important as I use this email account for work. FIX YOUR APP ISSUES! Read your reviews! THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS

Sends emails as it wishes and when it wishes ... if wishes . On laptop it works fine, but on phone (Samsung S22+) sometimes it sens emails straightaway, sometimes it wouldn't send for hours and later will "sync mail" for seconds and sends all emails at once, but sometimes it " sync mails" for hours and I have to delete all mails in outbox and start again. It is annoying and takes a lot of time to regenerate mails Could not find suitable remedy online.

The links that Google post in reply to negative reviews are no help. App doesn't sync. Deleted e-mails keep reappearing in Inbox. Have to keep constantly deleting the same e-mails numerous times before they eventually go. This is a longstanding issue that numerous updates have failed to resolve. Also, app doesn't sync across different devices, despite having sync turned on. Amateurish

Now I am very very tired of how much my Gmail app is freezing. It is continual when it starts. And even when I close it and reopen it and think it's okay, it freezes again Now it is showing what I drafted but when I open it, it is only showing two lines! I even restarted my Android 12 smartphone and it is still frozen. 😒 It is very wasteful of my time.

Very disappointed!!! I have 4 Gmail accounts on my S21+. For the past 2 months my default account will not download attachment(message failed to download) or show images in emails. I don't have any problems with my other accounts. I have signed out, updated, uninstalled and still having the same issue. My email works perfectly find when using Google chrome. Didn't have any issues until app was updated.
