GO Backup & Restore Pro

Bought this app to predominanly deal with sms and mms. Updated from lp to mm but can't restore the only thing I cared about backing up. Reached out for support and other than automated message I got crickets....... Devs, if you going to abandon a paid app then at least have the decency of removing it from the store.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. It pretended to work, to back up info from my old phone, yet it WILL NOT load to my new device. Don't get conned into paying to in app 4.99. It doesn't work and is a rip off. I want my money back and the time I wasted with this piece of Crap.

This used to be one of my favorite apps. I loved it so much that I decided to pay for the pro version, which worked great at first. I recently upgraded my phone from a Galaxy S2 to an S5 and none of recent backups were found on the SD card. I tried to restore from the cloud, which is the main reason I paid for pro, and it would only restore the apks but no sms, mms, etc. I try to make a new backup to the external SD and, as others have said, the path name given is wrong so I can't backup to the card.

The software does seem to work but incorrectly states (in broken English): "Cannot identify backups, SD card might damage." However the backups do appear. I suspect it has trouble identifying my second external EXT4 partition which I use for LINK2SD.

I bought this and it no longer works. Keeps giving constant errors and it's unable to backup/restore any app data even though my device (running 4.4.4) is rooted and the application has the proper permissions. I've emailed the support several times but as usual, they ignored it.

I used to love this app and it made backing up and restoring a phone after factory so simple. Now it still works fine but after backing everything up to Dropbox I have been able to restore everything except my sms and mms. The contact/number restores with no messages and no mms. You can also not use the messaging app until "surprise" everything you restored disappears. Please figure this out. This is the only app that I've tried that works as advertised and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I created backups on my android 4.3 phone before upgrading to kitkat (4.4.2). After the upgrade, the backups were no longer recognized by the app, rendering them useless. The Help was no help and is written in broken English. Their website is unreachable. Avoid at all costs. Signed, A "Premium" User

On my old phone I installed this app. It often told me that my contacts and messages had been backed up. But now that I have a new phone, when I go to restore, it tells me there are no backups to restore. There did seem to be a bug with it. It would give me messages that all was backed up and no back up completed. Installed on my Note 4. Tried backing up but the message was backup failed. I tried again the backup failed again. I tried again the backup failed.

The least Go dev could do after creating a failure of this so called app is to respond to the complaints as the app doesn't even backup anything, but No... They just ignore everything... Good thing I didn't waste my money

Liked the app because it also includes a cloud version but both don't seem to work unless I go through files and folders which I hardly find user friendly. Basically doesn't work for me. Would have given an even lower rating but I believe the app has potential. Replying ASAP did not happen. Still waiting for a reply... Uninstalling till I get a reply or till problems fixed.

1- please fix that we can backup/restore for kitkat 4.4.2 that we don't get sd write/read damage because other backups programs such titanium backup or mybackup app are fine for kitkat. 2- please do that the app backup contacts that it also backup the default number for all contacts like mybackup app, thanks. Fix that and i promising i give 5 stars.

Have tried a number of backup apps. This one is easy to use and very thorough. Wish it had an option like Helium to backup app data without root. Otherwise I can't think of any functional improvements. I am only giving three stars because it seems to draw a lot of battery on my phone.. If that changes it will be five stars.

This was my main app for backing up but for some reason it will not recognise my purchase and change to Pro version no can I even pay again to unlock. I've messaged developer twice with no answer. Tired of waiting for your help guys. Not very good customer service. Now I've got to look for something else to use. Why can't you offer an additional Pro version key to download like other developers do. Maybe more reliable because your current Pro upgrade method is obviously flawed. Very disappointed.

I'm still disapponted that we are at the end of November of 2016 and no change! The new version does not see the external sd card and hence can only backup to internal memory. This is a big problem if you are running low on internal memory or if you experimenting with different ROMs and you need to clean and re-install. I just upgraded to the paid version and I want my money back and the older (even the unpaid) version!

Only local backup is available without purchase. I need a cloud backup to transfer data between phones. I am more than willing to pay for the Premium Upgrade, but when I click the button I just keep getting a message that reads "Purchase through Google Play" and nothing happens. Not very helpful.

This use to be my go to app for backup… I just upgraded my phone 📱 from a Samsung Galaxy S4 to a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I was unable to restore my contacts or anything… eventhough I can see the files the app says there are none there… the files can't be opened by another program so they are just there. I put all my trust in one program and now it doesn't work…

I loved the interface and ease of use, but the moment I needed to restore anything it failed. A backup app that can't restore to me is an app not worth installing. I even had the paid version. Reached out to support... Week later, still nothing. I'll change my rating when you guys make something I can rely on.

I did several backups, local and cloud. I relied on this service and when I switched devices (from Note 2 to Note 4 both unroot) there's no data anywhere. Everything that was backed up through this app is gone and now it doesn't backup at all (not that I'm relying on this again. The other apps have been good and that's why I trusted this app. I'd like a refund.

Over and over again I have asked for a fix to the inability to backup with specific instructions on how to do it. Auto responder replied. I have given all the info they need. In 2012 I gave them 5 stars. They now get 1. I have used the app for many years. I don't think they care anymore.

What's the point of having back up if it won't back up apps and root is NOT needed to for backing up or restoring apps. Your other apps claim root is needed but it's not. Get with the times. Older comment ---> I re installed this and did a backup restore but it said there aren't any. I have a file in drop box and other cloud services that says go backup and when I open it, yep there's stuff inside. In one hour this had only done 10% back up and I needed to answer a text but it canceled the backup when I texted. At that rate it would've taken 10 hours to complete and had to start over if j used my phone. I'm logged in to my cloud services on it to.

All backups fail. Tried to contact support a number of times but got no reply. Very disappointing. Would like a refund or a solution but don't have my hopes up. Another Update: Still doesn't work even after the update. And still no word from support.

Used to be great. Almost all recent reviews are one star. Since Launcher Z version of Go Launcher, this app is no longer able to back up Launcher PREFERENCES! Backup of Launcher PREFERENCES Is a most important feature & made Go Launcher Portable too!! It is needed to backup the Home Screens / backup feature called backing up "PREFERENCES." My Need to transfer PREFERENCES from phone to phone. was the main reason I got Go Launcher in the first place. Still Can NOT get Go Backup to backup the "Go Launcher EX Preferences" FIX & get 5*s.

Not sure if no backups to external SD is necessarily a KitKat thing but the hard-coded path used. Instead of allowing us to set the path to say /storage/sdcard1 the app insists on using /mnt/media_rw/sdcard1. Even with root access and Xposed modules to handle SD that path won't work. Seems like the permissions on media_rw are strict compared to using just /storage. Editing the settings XML file with that path doesn't help. Alas, this app seems abandoned anyway so I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

I had an older version on my previous phone which allowed me to backup text messages for free. I get it that you want to make money, and since I need my old messages back, I was willing to upgrade. However, I was directed back to Google play yet the premium edition is not to be found... So basically, this app is useless for me now.

Downloaded pro version 2 days ago. Didn't offer refund button. Will not back up my phone. Update did nothing. Emailed developer twice now, once to see if I was doing something wrong. Second after 24 hours with no response from company asking for a refund. 48 hours later still no response from company. Very bad. I will be emailing Google about your fraudulent activity and searching for the state in which u reside so that I may mail your attorney gerneral/better business Bureau. Hope they shut u down!!

This CONTINUES to be a PROBLEM. It Used to be an amazing app for what it's supposed to do, but it hasn't been working for a few months now. It won't let me do a CLOUD backup on my my Note 2 or any of my other phones anymore:"(

I've used Go launcher for years and it is a great product. However, over the weekend I bought the backup app, and has yet to backup anything. It simply schedules a back and reports a failure. No contacts, files, Apps or anything will backup. I am using a Note 4 from Samsung. Save your money - don't waste it on this app.
