GoBird - Guide to Nearby Birds

I like this app! Cornell should have done something similar years ago. I have been wanting something like this for a long time I think ebird will get more data by having people find places to bird easier I have a few suggestions. 1) I'd love to be able to recenter on my position on the map. 2) Directly going to navigation without going to ebird would be amazing, 3) being able to switch to satellite on the map would be cool but less important. Thanks for making this!

Very nice birding app. I really love the feature that allows the user to filter to see just the rare birds in their area. I wish it allowed me to filter for the whole state. My dream would be for it to run in the background and inform me of the rarities as soon as they are reported, that would be perfect.

It used to be a pretty good app 2 years ago. Now the performance is sluggish at best and downright inaccurate at worst. Real time information is actually really bad for the survival of the birds, so I do understand the lag between the sighting and when the app decides to post.

The app has stopped working, when you click the species it used to go to the ebird checklist. It has stopped doing that in the last few days and no hotspots. I am using a Samsung Android tablet.

Good app. Suggested fix. It doesn't like to open on my google smart phone from the 'open' button during install. But if you go to the icon it deposits on your home page, it fully opens.

I just installed and so far seems to work well. I've been birding since '74 and this app is probably the best I've seen yet! Once I've really dug in I'll review again. Many thanks to GoBird and I plan to pass this along to others. Now GoBird! 😉✌🏻 Now I've installed the update and the app is even better! I've used ebird before to log my sightings & see other's but with this app I'm even more likely to do so! Now GoBird! 😉✌🏻

I had the app and it was not accurate. one person logged a raven in Ohio. ravens are not in Ohio. the last one was collected in 1879 and only one other in 1905. now, only crows. people post their findings and have mislabeled birds. if you are going to have an app such as this you must regulate what is being posted so people are getting correct information. I deleted the app once I saw more than 4 wrong labeling of birds.

Great app for finding hotspots, rare and birds found in your area. The filter allows area adjustment example 5 miles or 16 miles.

Good app. I am currently in Bahrain and am seeing a cormorant not on the app though. It's got a white head with a black eye stripe and conspicuous in flight white patches on each side of the body. Any ideas?

Trying to figure out how to use this app. I can't seem to report sightings and there is no bird ID function. I guess it's just for finding where certain birds are instead.

Would be 5 stars if there was a way to link our Ebird accounts to the app and filter the bird lists to what we haven't seen. Other than that, pretty solid app.

Very well built app, fast and clean. I wish it could filter out birds I've seen though, to focus on birds I am looking for.

This is a fun application to find out about birds in your immediate area of the country. This neat application deserves a higher rating on usefulness and a nice way to teach kids about birds. Thank you.

Just discovered GoBird looks very promising. Perhaps a search facility could be added for the times a guy tells you he saw a flock of cross bills in your area but no sign currently on app.
