I guess if you're a literal beginner then you'll be able to solve a cube, but the lessons really just stop there. I was disappointed to find out there was no CFOP or ROUX course, even though it's ripe for it. I really hope they add more lessons for algorithms like that
I have always liked rubix cubes, but I never knew how to solve them. Then, on christmas, I am giving this gift witch teaches me how to solve a rubix cube. It has optional games, and a verses mode. The majority of value in my opinion is the excellent training system, however, even experienced players will find value with a online race mode, a maze game, and even a online tournament! (My only complaint would be that it asks you to review, but it's not that annoying, and there are no ads.)
Cool device and app. It teaches you to solve a cube step by step. The leaderboard and competitive modes continue the fun. I had some issues pairing with a device but it paired fine to another device. I'm still looking into if there is a setting on the device that is causing the pairing issue.
After multiple attempts of trying to learn a rubixs cubs this one was by far the best, as others may know YouTube tutorials sometimes just don't work. And even if you mess up there's a feature to retrack your steps, plus the cube is also very nice.
I love my GoCube! My only thought for improvement is a way to compete with people with the same solve speed as me. I keep getting either paired with people I beat every time or with people who can solve way faster than me.
App works well, but missing a vital feature for progression. The basic training feature is a good start, but this needs to be expanded to then train to learn cfop method.
100% recommend, one thing to know is that if you mess with your cube while it's not connected to the app it won't register in the app and you may need to reconfigure your cube in the app. There's is a good tutorial for this on the gocube YouTube channel.
The app and vibe sync perfectly. It was really easy to follow. They even gave me instructions on how to recover from my mistakes. Great learning program.
A great app for the GoCube. Out of all the smart cube apps, this one seemed the most feature filled and stable. Definitely recommend the GoCube as the smart cube of choice.
Great software that works really well with the GoCube. The videos are super helpful. Directions can be a bit hard to understand at times but not because they aren't clear. I'm just not used to thinking "cube". Only real issues is the constant need to resynch cube to software. It's quick and easy to do, but has to be done soonest every few moves. Highly recommended for anyone ever wanting to learn the Rubik's Cube or if you just want to exercise your brain differently.GoCube is a definite winner
The Go Cube is superb, ever so smooth to use. The app has been great teaching me how to solve it. I've tried out several of the puzzle modes. Not sure how the levels and coins work, as I'm not gaining either (but doesn't look like anyone else is either) so guessing this is not yet implemented, but I'm curious to see what they plan for it if/when it is. Still several modes are marked as "coming soon", have been like that for many months already though... Hope we get the updates soon :)
The cube itself is a great desing. I like the modern sleek it has, and the turning quality is great, and it is magnetic. The app is really fun, and it is the first app that lets us join the WCA competitions from anywhere, and the online battles are great and well organized between levels of skill. I took the tutorial to check if it was good because I already knew how to solve the 3x3, and gotta say it is not that efficient, there are to many complicated algorithms, and that may confuse the newbi
So so much potential. I love the head to head games and the tutorial is very well thought out. The app needs to allow us to dig deeper into our stats. It would be good to review the scrambles and stats from our best times whenever, not just after the last solve. I want to be able to chart improvements and review the detailed stats on all the CFOP steps whenever, rather than just the once. The app gives us TPS and average solve time but i would love to see the details.
The app is very good for cubers of all levels. I wish it could be consistently in landscape and/or portrait mode. I like the stat keeping page and how the solves are broken down but it would be nice if the individual solve history could be sorted by different categories like tps, moves, time etc. unless I'm missing something somewhere. I can't comment too much on the tutorial mode since I have already learned how to solve a long while ago so I don't know how effective it is. I have completed it and it looks good though. I have not tried the other modes much because I'm more interested in improving as a speed solver so I focus more on the stat features. Otherwise a well rounded app. Not a huge fan of the GoCube as a speed cube because of its pillowed shape. There is a noticeable difference between my times on this compared to a normal speedcube (I use the WR M 2020). Because of that I do not use the cube and the app as much. However, I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the Rubik's Connected cube and using it with the app because of its traditional shape and in the hands of some pro cubers it looks like it moves pretty well and looks like a viable speedcube. Overall great product.
It's not a huge deal because I've gotten to the point after a few days that I really don't need the visualizer, but it does need to be resynced after every run of two. I'd also like to see lessons added that teach more advanced solution methods. I've hit a cap of about 1 minute using the method taught by the app, and other solution guides online are far less clear than the way this app teaches.
Really innovative concept executed well. The main function of the cube syncing with the app works well. I struggled learning with a regular cube and failed. I now average 2-3 minutes. PR 1:45 The tutorial is mostly good. Video navigation would go a long way though. I also like how you can play others online. The other games aren't helpful because they require untaught skills. As someone who can now reliably solve a cube, I'd love to see a CFOP tutorial. Like, I'd even pay for it.
Love the app, love the cube. Wish I could say it was 5 stars and I really want to but having to constantly recalibrate the cube and hit the reset position button is the most annoying thing I have ever dealt with. The other thing is if you use the cube without the app open, it will not remember what you've done. Then you have to manually re-enter the whole thing into it.
For the most part, this cube works flawlessly. However, today I noticed a whopper. I was solving in solo mode and made a solve of about 30 seconds, however the timer showed 3.6 seconds. I did not break the world record. I am not the rightful holder of the number 2 slot. The current number 1 slot is a solve of 0.9 seconds. I've seen an arduindo robot solve that fast. I feel a statistics and leaderboard reset is needed. Hopefully this will be fixed in software updates...
Love my GoCube and the app, but I hope to see it continue to grow. A feature to train a specific algorithm would be so awesome. For example, your stats show me I need to work on my OLL. I found some algorithms that would help me be prepared for more cases. Let me type in the algorithm (better yet, copy/paste) and then have the app help scramble me up some cases that will use it. That would be so awesome!
The cube and app are pretty good, the only thing missing for me is the ability to use the Solver part of it with white on the bottom which is the way I learned. Right now it forces the yellow on top which is backwards to my brain. I was hoping to use the Solver feature to learn some better algorithms but can't until white is allowed on the bottom :)
GoCube connected with the app right away, very user friendly and instant recognition of the feeling what you pay is what you get. However, after some days we noticed difficulties of connecting the cube with the tablet, even if bluetooth and everything was chekcing out ok. We need to restart the tablet every time on a new connection (after the cube sits down during the night for example). Also, some frequent mis-representations of the cube (visual alignment on the app vs reality), which sync button solves out, but the frequency of the need to resyng is somewhat disturbing - room for improvement! Otherwise, a very interesting app reinventing the old Rubik's Cube. I had lots of fun with my kids learning them how to solve it out through the "academy" steps. Really useful and straightforward - user-friendly interface.
It works smoothly, better than I expected, I really love it and on top of the regular solve puzzle (solo or in competition) has other games, not that interesting, but that gives more game. It has a beginners tutorial, but I miss an advanced tutorial, it could be great if you could add a tutorial for advanced solving techniques.
I never leave reviews on apps, but I have to admit this is a really cool one. I always wanted to learn how to solve this, and now I can do it by myself thx to GoCube. reason for 1 less star: 1. accuracy can get messed up wit a lot of movement (problem for "kids"). 2. no "Keep screen on" option. having to change your settings to time yourself can get messy. or you'll loose time unlocking your device. I would like to give it 4.8 stars though.
I love this app and cube. The connectivity is solid and it is super responsive and does a great job keeping up with your turning. The academy is also a great resource for people new to cubing. My wife and 7 year old both learned the beginners method through it. The online matchmaking is good, but I have 2 cubes so it doesn't get much use as my challenges usually happen in person.
I'm really enjoying my cube but, I would like to see this: - a button to resync cube position in air - full stats, I see some nice stats after a solo play but then they disappear and I just see best time and number of moves. I'd like to see improvement over time, which parts of the solve I need to improve, times per section (cross, layers, etc) etc. Why can't I see this data anymore afterwards? - more algorithms being taught in the academy, like advanced section All in all, loving the cube!
No dark mode (although the LEDs don't really help with playing in the dark). Online is mostly bots. Wish all modes had offline variant (rather than just Pro cuber) so you don't need to wait for matching. Rescramble mode is poorly executed (not straightforward and no tips/guidance). Academy only teaches basic solving method, would be nice if it had tutorials for more complex ones as well. Only one exclusive game compared to other budget models. Turning cube while finding match shows white screen. Scrambling mode can be abused by using exact same turns every time. Still, works much more reliably with better app than competitor smart cubes.
