Golf Rival

Pulling back two stars. Love this game, but the latest update messed with the algorithms or something. You can make a shot spot-on and the wind will double after you shoot, placing the ball in completely the wrong place. At first I thought I was just off my game a little. So I started playing more carefully. I've lost several key Kingdom and Challenge rounds because of this. I think something with the coding is glitching somewhere. Too bad, because was my favorite game by far.

It does have a pay2win vibe going. You quickly realize, advancing is VERY slow without buying, at least, some offers to get the clubs and balls needed to actually compete with those who do buy into the app. I initially gave it 5 stars for fun. Then, I realized "how" 😉😉 it works. Get past that, and it's a good time passer. Check online tips and videos. Have fun!

Good game that could be great if it was nerfed less to make you NEED to pay to play. I've paid in, probably 3-4 times or more. But that's not enough, apparently. I guess that half of my losses come down to who has the better clubs instead of who is the better player. And it seems nearly impossible to keep your win percentage high while grinding for coins/points/clubs/balls instead of paying (all the time) for them. Open up the ability to grind (win stuff by play not pay) for 5 stars.

I was enjoying this game. It works well. You watch a lot of ads, but you click on them yourself to collect coins, etc. which makes it less annoying. It requires spending real money to progress quickly. I've rated the game only two stars, though. When I got busy with real life and did not play for a few days, the game demoted me two steps back from a stage 2 expert to a novice. It took a lot of effort (and money) to reach that level. I resent being punished for taking care of my family. I'm done!

NOTHING LIKE THE ADS. I kept seeing the ads for this game over and over and eventually I thought, eh...sure, I'll check it out. But it's nothing like the ads! The ads look like miniature golf on steroids. The ultimate miniature golf if gravity and physics weren't a factor plus bright, beautiful colors. But no, it's just golf. Simple, boring golf. What is the point of advertising a game that isn't being offered? I refuse to play bait & switch games! Get your act together!

Started out being fun and addicting. Now it is getting more and more frustrating as games don't load properly which affects how much time you have for your shot or if you even get a shot. Watching videos also freezes up and I have to restart the game. If I play for an hour I will have to restart at least 10 times. Once for every 3 games played.

Fun game if you didn't have to play against bots and/or cheaters. Timer goes slower for opponents. Lately my shot goes no where near where it's supposed to. I understand the wind and where the ball should go but randomly it will be way off, allowing opponent to win. I'm done, uninstalled. Don't play unless you want to spend a lot of money to lose!!!!

Changed review. Not only do you not fairly match opponents but crashing of the game a huge problem. Have told you numerous times and know I'm not the only one. Crashes in the middle of shots. Can't even play tournament without it crashing. You lose a shot when it reconnects. Have followed all advice and clear the cache regularly. Nothing works. Deleted game until you figure it out. Let us know on Facebook when you can truly say it's fixed.

My favorite game and the only one that freezes and reconnects. My phone isn't froze just this game. Totally frustrating. I deep clean and have a signal booster as well just for this game. Is it ever going to be fixed? It is better then it was but still issues. If not me the opponent is reconnecting. I hope i don't have to stop playing. I will not waste money until it is resolved. This game is really beginning to tick me off! Right in the middle of a match, it will disconnect and reconnect several times, causing you to lose your turn and match! For those of us who spend money playing this game and others, this is ridiculous and a rip-off!! And don't tell me it has something to do with my signal!! I can have FULL bars and/or full wifi, and it STILL does it!!! 😡🤬🤬😡😡

Golf Rival v. Golf Clash both cost lots of $$$$$. I've played both and am drawn easily into spending more money to advance by upgrading clubs and balls. The biggest downfall for me is Golf Rival fails to place similar players in challenges. Why should I be placed against a Legendary player with maxed out clubs, when I just started out as a Rookie 1 week ago. The challenges are unfair! Plus right/left hook is not available on shot to add trajectory as wanted, you must use pre-shot, as purchased,

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Overall it's a fun game but when the opponents you have to play against have the best of the best clubs and balls it leaves people like me (non money spenders) with zero chance to win. The game matches you against your opponents by how many trophies they have and not by the average level of your clubs. Pretty easy for someone to purposely lose a bunch of matches just to be able to play against lower opponents.

OK game from the graphics point of view. Lousy from the playing golf point of view. Nowhere near enough time to select ball, spin and placement of shot. Several holes are virtually to reach in regulation. Can't figure out how to select club before shot. No penalty for out of bounds, go back to the tee then it should be the third shot not second. Would be nice to be able to put on the fringe.

Play it/ Ok I have been playing for a while now and my reaction is mixed.... the game is great, but the level of fair play is not! Nothing is worse than making good shoot selection and field placement, only to watch your opponents use a " get out of jail free club". What' the point and purpose of the game if you can just buy your way to a victory. Also along the same lines, I've noticed that the opponents always get much more range on their shoots, using the same clubs, in the same match . It's

The game is very pay to win. The first 8 or 9 courses are fine which then unlocks tournaments and events. It is literally impossible to win top 10 without putting $$$ in the game. If you end up getting into a draw, the game forces you into longest drive scenarios where the whales will always win. The game at its core is good but it's a multi-player game where money means more than skill.

Been play this game for a while now, it can be fun and challenging. But have learned not to play any of the challenges or arena unless you have or are willing to spend the money to compete/win. Just being a casual player you can't compete. Game seems to be having more isdues with freezing up, not loading espically when in a match. Have lodt multiple games due to not loading, freezing up and then being dropped into the game two shots behind. Ganes seems to be getting worse, not better.

So far, nothing at ALL like ads show. There are NO "putt-putt" type games, like the ads show. Not one. Golfing a few rounds with other players. Hell, I can't even change my name from "Guest1234567" to a real name! Tutorials are not very helpful. Even to a non-golfer. Controls are spotty. No tutorial on what the strength meter of your swing (or lack thereof!) means. Trial and error. Not sure how much longer I will keep this installed. Can't even change my player name?!? Pffffft!

Wind charts are total bull. Game is rigged. If you buy products, then game play is very forgiving. If you don't, you get robbed of crucial shots. Also, disconnect happens and you get screwed out of time while it reconnects even though your connection is fine. Unless you have a lot of extra money, don't waste your time with this app. It starts fine, after stage 10 you won't be competitive unless you open your wallet.

When it's working properly it's a great game but when the gamed decides to have disconnect issues while playing, it is frustrating. It'll reconnect after a long time time and either your turn is is over or you have no time left. The worst part is it will reload the game andthe round you are playing is no considered a loss. That is not cool. I would prefer when this happens that the game just resets the current score to what is was before the round began.

Game is fun, but its pay to play. All your opponents in tournaments have bought better equipment, and are unbeatable unless you buy/upgrade yours. It gets old when someone can drive 330 yards, with a 45 degree curve and hit albatross every time you play them. Edit: more negatives to discuss. You lose trophy points every match you lose. Which is idiotic because then you're stuck playing the same maps over and over and over. Terrible job. Makes no sense. Would give this zero stars if I could.

If you are looking for an enjoyable experience try a different golf game. This starts out fun then after playing for about a week you get matched up with players light years ahead of you who've had months to build their clubs, skills and balls. It's hard enough having to contend with pay to win players, you also have to deal with bugs that make the game glitch when shooting and opponents can be in front of a solid wall and hit through. All in all if you want to have fun, this isn't it...

This is NOT a mini golf game as is shown in videos of the game, that you see in the ads. Still, it's not bad, has some good in-game physics, and is something to kill time with. The courses become stupidly difficult around the 6th hole. Seriously...clumps of trees, rocks, and ancient ruins ON the course itself? C'mon.

Update. Despite comments from the developers, the game is full of bots. Also if you don't play and win at least 1-2 games an hour, at the higher levels, the bots will beat you down and cause you to drop your rank. Game is a $ pit. The higher you go in the game the more bots you have to compete against. And these bots play impossible shots and are not going to lose. They never make a bad shot and always seem to make the perfect shot with the absolute best clubs that you can't seem to get.
