Downloaded (and paid) specifically to play and cast music I have stored locally. Edit: I've now managed to find it on the song page (not the library page) (also backing out and coming back in helps). The casting to chrome is not very stable though, it seems to stop casting when the screen turns off, and volume isn't always recognised.

I love this app - it's hard to find a truly good music app on android, one that looks good, is easy to navigate, and does a good job playing music - this app the best I've found! The one thing it's missing (at least as far as I can tell) is the ability to chromcast - if you added that feature, this would be hands down the best music player on Android.

The app is fantastic, great organisation. Probably the best music app on the market. However I have the following issues: Significant battery consumption, even when not in use (32% of my power drain from simply being idle with no media playing). App sometimes crashes, causing me to reboot the app in order to continue listening to music. Any way you can fix these issues?

I never write app reviews, but I feel the recent mega update for the app went above and beyond. I'm super picky about music players, and GMMP is the most configurable and I appreciate that a lot. The update greatly improved the usefulness of configuration, making it more easier to do so and also giving more useful options. It's rare that you update software and have zero complaints, but this is one of those times.

Sure keep changing the UI. I love it when i have the app set up how i like it, and the update completly changes the ui, and i can only sort of kind of set up the ui like i had it. Oh and now you have to choose Shuffle from a drop-down menu ? This is better than the previous design how? The update slowed the app down, it takes forever for the song names to catch up with your scrolling so you can't even see the name of the song. It's worse in every way.

UI customization options severely lacking from the previous version. EQ settings did not carry over. Back button sometimes annoyingly closes app window when previously it would lead me back to my folders or not close. Album art forced to have rounded edges, makes it look juvenile. I mean it's a competent app, but now it doesn't really stand out from the rest. Consider other apps before trying. Also, you have to re-enable shuffle every time you choose a new song to play from your folder.

Something is up with this app. I generally don't pay for apps unless the reviews for it are amazing, so this one seemed like a good choice. Im tired of streaming music services amd wanted the mp3s on my phone. I thought this would be the perfect music player for it...but there seems to be a major issue with it. Sometimes only a select few songs will work. Strangely when I play them in other music apps they seem to work fine. That and it doesnt seem to update your library instantly.

just like to say how good the 3.0.3 update is. more room on the side for selection. playlist gui on return is where you left off (and not reverted back to the first playlist in the stack). one thing i would like on the ends of the slide bars in settings, is to be able to enter numbers manually or an up down arrow box other than that this ap gets better every update and the support is fabulous!

This just got a huge overhaul which makes it look awesome and even better features. It originally discovered all the mp3s on your phone and loaded them into the library. Now it's got some awesome extras like hold click over the app itself and play from where you left off. This is totally awesome and unexpected update. Keep up the good work!

Great potential, regularly breaks with updates. Lots of features here for the tech-heads and music nerds but I can't keep using this. Every major update wipes the app's memory and requires a re-scan of my whole library (which takes ages and consumed a fair amount of battery on my old phone). Updates often reset or alter a bunch of settings and the app ended up automatically downloading incorrect album artwork onto my files.

Almost perfect music player. I would suggest though a marquee/scrolling style text for very long displayed texts on now playing info instead of adding more number of lines. It hurts my eyes everytime when long title/album/artist comes and it readjust the size of the album art. Scrolling style text is the solution. It's aesthetic, professional and lit. That's my major concern so far. Hoping it gets notice too for future releases

difficult to add songs to playlists, due to the function near to the screen edge, tends to stop mid song and start another. nothing wrong with the files, checked with other players. it also plays songs not on the playlist selected. really annoying, almost wish i didnt buy it. other then that its ok as players go.

Used the classic version of this player for years. Today the PlayStore updated to the new version of GoneMAD, which is heavily reshaped to look like these new gen horrible players. Installed the classic version back, lost all my settings I spent HOURS doing over the years. Uninstalling. Don't wanna hear about this app ever again. I'm enraged.

Totally blew my mind off! Couldn't resist myself from supporting the dev Kyle Hunsberger. Yes, it's the most customizable music player ever. Believe me, I have poweramp, jetaudio, neutron, playerpro, blackplayer ex, doubletwist etc. The best part is the custom Audio Engine. I don't believe in a music player that sounds cheap.Until this moment I hadn't bought this for the poor UI.But the Renovation(3.0) changed the decade old UI. Most underrated music player on Android is GoneMAD, I guess. Thanks

Been using this app for a few years. Really liked it up until now. I don't like the latest interface though. Maybe I can customise it to suit me or just get used to it. Otherwise, I might have to start looking for a new music app. I particularly don't like that it doesn't display the rating for the song currently playing.

Easily my favorite local music player on Android. If you have a gigantic library, want to have a ton of control over that library, and love to tinker with customization options, then this is the app to use. Pretty close in spirit to the original desktop Foobar2K client, but vastly superior to the Foobar 2K Android app. If you want bleeding edge features, the beta is constantly being updated, and the dev is super responsive to feedback.

Dav. C. Mar 19, 2021

Still a good player but I am real disappointed you removed some of the customizations, especially the ability to add things (like playlists) to the navigation bar AND keep it visible even with Now Playing view. I tried reverting to the classic version, but that's all gone from there, as well.

Dan. M. Nov 27, 2018

Absolutely love this music player as well as every changelog from the developer. I needed something for lossless playback and this fits the bill. Excellent customization and UI. The only thing I'm waiting for now is the inclusion of album art thumbnails in the Artist list while browsing the Library.

Jos. M. Sep 17, 2018

Disappointed in the app, it slowly lost its music features, never updating my edited details or maintaining the correct album art and now it won't even let me open the app and its been like this for 3 days and no response from customer service. Extremely disappointed in a music app I USED to love. Stick to the normal music app or find another one that'll suit you as this app has just gone downhill sadly.

My playlists dont seem to be working? My music library has a different folder structure to my PC (where i created the playlist) abd the files are identical. However it doesnt seen to find any of the songs in the playlist when I select it. Other apps seem to recognise and find songs within the playlist so Im assuming it works differently? Other than this its a fantastic player, theres so many options and I have it set up exactly how i want it.

Cha. D. Dec 27, 2021

This is my go to music player, but for awhile now the smart features of the app stopped working and my playlists that I take hours to make them stay are empty. Every new update I have to make new lists. I've been using this app for years. Looking for new app,but I'm use to GMMP.

zol. s. Dec 16, 2021

Displays artwork that has nothing to do with what I am playing, even though I have auto download art turned off in the settings. Can't remember to keep shuffle on when playing new album.

Par. L. Feb 11, 2021

I've really enjoyed this app over the years, but I'll need some more time with 3.0 to get used to the change. Sure wish my settings were brought over from previous version. Developer made a mistake that will anger a lot of people there. Anyway, don't get discouraged dev! People are resistant to change at first but they'll realize you've made improvements

Possibly the best app for playing your own offline music collection but it's not perfect. Android Auto integration is great and it's easy to just copy your files and playlists to your phone or tablet and they just work without any hassles. But, and this is a huge but, there is no Google Home integration. Google Assistant will not open the app. Can you believe that in 2020? There is nothing you can do about it. It simply doesn't work and it's beyond annoying. This is the reason I didn't give it five stars. I'm aware that this may be a Google issue, but if the developers could fix this, then it would deserve a five star rating.
