The concept is great and I always use this app when deciding where to shop for clothes, however it would be a lot better if you could filter the shops by rating, country nd price range, just so we can discover nice sustainable brands we wouldn't otherwise know about. Right now sadly it mostly only allows to check brands you already know.
The concept is great and it is so useful to use when you are looking for a particular business and want the details. Harder if you are browsing, the filters don't seem to work, for example if you select dresses you still get shops that dont sell dresses. And also the price system is vague. A score of $$ can be anything between £20 for and item and £250 for an item. But when you have the time to browse, it is an excellent way of getting to know ethicala nd sustainable brands out there.
I love this concept and it's great for doing quick and easy research on brands you know to see if they are sustainable and ethical. However, searching for new brands can certainly use some work. The filters don't seem to work at all - for example I'll select "shorts" and "$$" as filters, but I'll get results for all prices and shops that don't sell shorts. It sounds like the developers hope to add some changes and I hope that includes MORE filters, and filtering that works!
Yeah all works fine again now. Overall I think this is an excellent and needed app. Would like more choices which are available in the UK, the ability to search by country would be good. Also it's missing a quite a lot of the big outdoor brands. It's a good start though and I look forward to more brands coming out. One thing that I would be interested to know about is durability too. I know there are several outlets where the clothes just don't last long which just adds to the waste problem.
Love the app and the whole idea of it, but I am noticing loading times are waaaaaay too long, if it even decides to load. At first I though it was my internet speed, but I could go on YouTube and play a video with the best quality no problem! I hope you guys can fix this, maybe it's a bug? But yeah, either way, keep up the good work!
Good idea for an app but often I find it slow to load and at the moment it's not really working at all, it won't search or load any of the articles. I'd like better filters too, for example, to search for brands shipping from my own country. I also find the filter to search for particular types of clothes not very accurate. Would be great if it was more reliable.
It is a free easy to use resource. It isnt perfect but still better than searching everything yourself which can take hours, so really can't complain for free! Very US centric right now, would be great if you could choose your region and see shops tailored to your country, I've end up clicking onto a lot of US sites and I hate shipping from so far!
A very easy to use app. Not only is the information extremely valuable, its presented in a way that makes it easier to shop sustainably. I especially like the articles and reports on specific fabrics like silks. It would be great if you could save these to your favourites room as a fashion student, I often have a love hate relationship with the industry. But this app has helped me make informed choices. I shared it with my Sustainable Fashion Insight professor and she loved it! Thanks
Pretty great app. I love reading the blog post, the fact that they go above and beyond to provide insight to brands, and I love that I can message the brand directly using the app! My only issues are that the filter button doesn't work at all, there's not an option to specify your search to your country /continent so most of the options are usually from Europe, some brands haven't been updated in years and the links do not work anymore. If these issues were fixed I would give 5 stars.
I think that this is a great concept, its been such a useful aid for me to make better decisions about where I shop. It also allows you to send messages to brands who dont rate highly and I think this is really great in allowing you to be even more proactive. However, recently it has been really slow and wont load searches which makes the app unusable - please can you fix this?
It's good, but it could be better if it had things like showing different brands on the search page if the search bar is empty, and maybe you could filter them by price or rating. I would also like it to have categories such as "Women, Men, Unisex, Kids" and a country category/filter, a lot of the things I find on there tend to be overseas, but I would like to shop within my country.
I have used the app for two weeks to ensure my review is accurate. Good concept behind the app, it is easy to use and looks professional. However there is too much wording on the pages (more images and videos please!), the similar brands offered are far too expensive and it hasn't really impacted my life at all.
I've loved using Good On You in the past, but I'm currently very frustrated as I'm unable to search for any categories or products as the little circle just keeps spinning and spinning. The list of categories doesn't load either. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and tried to send feedback, but again, the circle does not stop spinning. Hopefully it gets fixed asap.
If it ran smoothly I would give 5 stars. I really liked the app itself but after only using it a few times it no longer functions. I open it and try to search or really do anything and I just get the loading circle going indefinitely so I'm not actually able to use it at all. I hope they figure out the bugs because I really do think its a valuable tool.
I just tried it and even though it asked me for my country, its suggestions for related brands are not the brands I recognize, I was looking for better alternatives. But I can't find any useful ones. Major issue is that I can't set it to not show notifications. It crashes every time I refuse, but works fine when I accept. If I get notifications, I'll uninstall it.
Excellent concept. Great if you have a brand in mind - however a few major flaws. The "Refine" menu doesn't always work; many brands dont have the correct Refine settings (i.e. mens fashion is listed when I search for womens); most brands I look at don't ship to Australia, making the "Preferences" menu null and void for me; and many leading Australian brands aren't added (although I've been "suggesting" them in-app for years).
I would love it if the search function could be narrowed down to show only businesses based in your country or continent (in my case UK/Europe). Even when I select this and deselect including online stores, I mainly get results for brands based in Australia and the USA. It's one thing buying more expensive ethically made clothing, but another adding on hefty import duties. Without this function I waste a lot of search time using this app and haven't found any brands to actually shop from. It looks like this kind of filtering *is* a feature of the app, but it doesn't work on my Android app.
I want to love this app, but I HATE it. After one use, the second time I opened it, I was welcomed by an endlessly loading home page. I couldn't search or do anything on the app. Hoping it was a fluke, I tried signing out and back in. After signing out, I couldn't get back in! Still loading forever. Uninstalled and reinstalled... same issues. I'm going to uninstall the app, sadly.
I love this app and I would give it 5 stars but there's some features that I wish it had. when you choose what gender of items your interested in, I wish there was a unisex option/a way to choose both men and women's wear, it would make it easier to find things since I wear both men's and women's clothes. I also wish there was a way to easily look at brands from different countries. I can only select one county at a time, makes it a little more difficult trying to find stuff.
The apps created use is great! It gives you a quick look at each brands efforts to help the environment, workers and animals. A useful tool is making informed decisions before buying. The apps performance however is poor. Very slow, crashes a lot and always seems to automatically adjust preferences to US womenswear.
I love the idea of the app, but it does not work. After one or two uses when it is first downloaded, the app gets stuck on a perpetual loading screen. Every other aspect of the app is organized perfectly and is an incredible source, but the app is barely useable, if at all. I keep hoping that I will get a notification that the app has been fixed, but I don't believe that anything has been done. I know I am not alone in this struggle, because other reviewers have left the same notes.
I like this app but I do think a few improvements are necessary. I searched "Shein" when I was first testing out the app and one of the stores that came up as a suggestion for a better alternative, was nothing like Shein! The clothes and style was very different! I would also like to see a price function to compare store prices. Overall it's a good app but if a store isn't good for the planet, the suggested stores should have similar stock to our original search.
Great resource for finding eco-friendly clothing brands. The only thing that could be improved is being able to search for specific items in the app and finding brands that sell that item (I seem to be able to find these articles on a Google search, but not through the app itself).
I love the idea behind the app and the first time I used it, it worked wonderfully. Unfortunately by the second time and any time after, nothing ever loaded again. I deleted and reinstalled it, it again worked the first time I opened it but never again. edit: the issues were fixed and the app now works as intended.
Great app. Used to love it but as a lot of other people are saying nothing's loading anymore... Tried to send a msg in the app to the team to let them know but that wouldn't send either. Followed some advice from the team on other people's comments to delete and reinstall and now it won't let me sign in. It just keeps loading. Really looking forward to it getting fixed.
I love the concept of this app. But it won't load any of the categories or searches. I cant use the app if it won't load. I tried installing and reinstalling but that didn't make a difference Thank you for reaching out. And fixing the bugs! It works brilliantly now!
App is a good idea, lacking refinement. There are a few features that would make the app so much better. Like a simple 'browse' option without having to search. Being able to filter results for specific gender, cost, etc. The cost is the most jarring thing about this website. Some places rated $$ sell socks for £50 a pair. Others sell shirts for less than that. I found a $$$ rated website selling jeans for £500, when generally these ratings are cheaper. Cheap options are available though
I had the same problem as some other reviews. App worked fine for a year and then suddenly didn't work for months, always loading and nothing happened. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and seems fine now. The idea is fantastic and very useful.
I think the idea is truly wonderful, I love the push for sustainability. Although this app isn't very inclusive when it comes to plus size clothing brands. And I understand there's not a lot of sustainable plus size clothing anyways, but when you put plus size in the filter nothing changes and it shows all the straight size brands. Anyways that's my biggest and only complaint, the non-inclusive brands and the filtered search doesn't work all too well.
