Good Recipes

Good Recipes allows you to collect recipes and view them in easy and convenient manner. This app is not a database of recipes, but rather a tool for creating your own recipe collection tested by you or your friends. All recipes are stored locally on your Android device, so an Internet connection is not required. Good Recipes App comes with several sample recipes which you can edit or delete.
Good Recipes App is optimized for fast and smooth saving of recipes. An unfinished recipe is automatically saved as draft and restored later, so you don't need to worry about losing your work because of a wrong click. When entering directions separate steps by empty strings.

When viewed, your recipe is presented as "book" with separate pages for each step of directions navigated like pages on Android homescreen. Switch from ingredients page to last viewed directions page by tapping the recipe header. Select the recipe yield you need and ingredient amounts will be updated automatically. Choose the recipe image on the title page.

Good Recipes App keeps the history of last viewed recipes so you can access them from the main screen. And you can add home screen shortcuts for your favorite recipes.

Good Recipes App also converts measurement units. Just click an item from the ingredient list and select the units you need. Converted units are shown in a lighter color, so it's easy to revert to the original value. There is also stand-alone tool for converting arbitary units of measurement including weight-to-volume conversion that can be launched from the main app or separately.

Filter all recipes by course, main ingredient and cooking method, recipe and ingredient name. You can also filter recipes by any number of custom tags.

You can send your recipes to another device that has Good Recipes App installed. The receiver will be able to import this recipe into his database. To send a recipe check "importable data" in "share" dialog. *IMPORTANT
* in Good Recipes App sharing is implemented using the standard Android mechanism
- you will be prompted to choose how to send the data. Which options come up will depend on what applications are installed on your device. Not all options are suitable for data sharing: for example email and bluetooth are ok, but facebook is not. You can also share your recipes as text by any compatible means.

Features:
- Save your recipes easily and quickly
- Choose which images you want with each recipe
- When you cook the yield you need, ingredient amounts will update automatically
- Filter your recipes by course, main ingredient, cooking method or custom tags
- Search your recipes by title or ingredient
- Share your recipes (including images) with others by email, facebook etc.
- Send your recipes to another device that has Good Recipes App installed via email, bluetooth etc.
- Convert measurement units "in place" or using stand-alone tool
- Keep a history of last-viewed recipes
- Add home screen shortcuts for your favorite recipes

I wanted an application that I could load my favourite recipes on so that when I went shopping I knew what to get. After trying about 20 recipe apps, this one is by far the best. It has a clear, simple and easy interface. Recipes are easy to find and easy to read. You can import and export recipes and even take a photo. Many thanks to the developer!

Says 'export' to sd card, but this is not the case! It exports to local disk. You may have hundreds of recipes which you spent alot of time typing into this app, only to find that you cannot save them anywhere other than locally. What about when you need to reset your device? Say bye bye to all your efforts, or you buy another device? Export to sd card needs to be removed from this app as it exports to local disc. I put an sd card in my tablet and tried to export to it, then I removed the sd card and tried importihg from it, and yes it imported from a non existant sd card! This was when I found out you could not save your work to an external sd card. If you have 500 recipes and you want to save them externally, you will have to click on every one individually to save it.

This is an app for collecting recipes. You have to enter all of the information. (There is no feature to import from any recipe website.) A nice addition would be the ability to add a photo to each step. Another nice addition would be ability to export in html format so that you could drop it into a blog page.

I LOVE it that this app does not need the internet. Therefore, I can use it ANYWHERE - especially referring to it when I am at the Grocery Store. GREAT JOB!!!!!

I like the cleanness of the app, but it does not have the option of displaying the entire recipe on one screen or displaying measurements in decimal format

It's a great app, but I hate the ads.

Seems really good, except that in the editing screen it seems to always go to portrait mode. :(

I love the look and ease of the app and it's clean, simple lines. I would really, really love it, however, if I could customize the "Course", "Main Ingredient" and "Cooking Method" choices since most of the time my recipes don't fit into the categories to choose from. I'm very organized so little things like that annoy me. Otherwise great and would get 5 stars.

I like this application because it let's me save my own recipes in a nice format, with pictures. We can search the recipes from the saved recipes. What I don't like is the fact that we can't edit the recipes once we save :(

This is a young app, somewhat bulky – but a vry good start! I expect it will become even better as it matures! One thing I would do,though,is address the extra"bloat"caused by the tools. While some of them are quite clever,I've never used them & don't need them. I think it would be *much* better if the tools were an optional install — if you want them,or can spare the space, then install them.If you're confident enough in the kitchen that you doubt you'll need them, save the space by not installing them.

Allows you to create recipes in an easy to follow and standard format. I only wish there was an easy way to sync recipes between multiple devices.

Very interesting app, would give it a 5 if I could import recipes from my PC instead of having to type in all the recipe details.

Good app for storing recipes electronically. Wish it would show me the recipe on my Asus Transformer Tablet.

Good format, like the ability to customise recipes with pictures- downside it crashed on me last night when I was updating a recipe but did reopen ok

Love this app! Finally all my recipes in one place. Would love to have a way to organize recipes into folders.

Kri. W. Feb 15, 2015

The design of the interface is pretty good, but about 1/3 of the time while in a recipe, it locks up for about 30 seconds where it won't let me scroll. Then, while inputting a recipe with my phone turned horizontally for typing, the whole app locked up and crashed, causing me to lose the whole recipe.

Works ok. I used the export feature to save my files to the sd card the import feature to restore them. Export feature worked but the import feature only gives you an io error.
