So far this a a great app plus live trainer experience. Is the app perfect? 🤔 Nope but what is? The trainer is great and throughout the week (between classes) she and the team respond to questions and photos and videos. I like this approach as I didn't have time to go to a location nor did I want to just watch videos.. The hybrid approach works for me and Clifford.
We have enjoyed the experience and have learned a ton about training our dog (Radar) in the basics (so far). The training is progressing quickly with both our dog and us humans. It is a lot of information coming our way, but we can definitely see the progress so far and are looking forward to where this journey takes us with our dog and the help of the GoodPup app. Our dog has proven to be quite smart and without GoodPup and the patient instructors, we would be having a much more difficult time.
Great app! Trainers are knowledgeable and patient with me in teaching me how to train my pups correctly. And the chat function has helped so much. Because I can never remember all the questions I have for the next training session. So being able to just pop the question on there and get an answer is amazing!
Love this app and program. The instructions are great and easy to follow. The progression is perfect. Our trainer Angelique is super, extremely knowledgeable and able to adapt to meet the needs of training the shelter dig we adopted. The program also includes a chat function that is so helpful in between sessions.
Love the one-to-one training. Kimberly is fabulous! I highly recommend this app and the training to anyone & everyone who has a dog.
During the lockdown we're not able to take him in person to a trainer, so we decided to try GoodPup. We are super thrilled that we did! The trainer we were paired with is/was fantastic, she listened to what we were hoping to accomplish with our dog, developed a plan with us, and explained each part of it as to why it was needed and how to do each step. We've only done the first week's training session, but I'm looking forward to doing the whole series!
We, like many others, rescued a dog during quarantine. I signed up expecting a basic training course, but it was MUCH better than I imagined! The chat support is phenomenal, and the trainer we were assigned was very knowledgeable, encouraging, and helpful. I have already recommended this app to a few of my friends who also have new dogs. There is amazing value in this app!!

Very impressed by the credentials and expertise of my trainer! We have a very challenging shut down foster dog from a bad situation and the trainer has new ideas that we haven't learned about or tried before. Great resources. There is a chat feature where you can share information (and pictures/ video) between sessions and get feedback. 100% recommend!
it's my second session. it's been great. it feels like it moves a lot slower compared to. how it goes when you send your dog somewhere and he comes back completely different. plus I also realized I don't put nearly as much time as they do into my dog but he has done so much better since I started with this app my trainer is a really good knowledgeable trainer I'm very happy I have the one I have.
The trainer and everything are great but it takes forever to load and I'm still on loading section for the chat. Even on my husband's cellphone it wont let us do anything!! Just keeps being on the loading page which is really annoying. Especially if you're paying for this!
It's good, but don't fall for the so-called $30/week point of view. It's actually $30 for 30 minutes of training once a week, and no matter what they'll suck you into an 8-week program (that you can cancel any time) but they'll put the good stuff like no barking, heel, etc at the end of the course.
I've read several dog training books which have been helpful but I still had some gaps in my dog training knowledge. I tried puppy school but I felt it to be too impersonal and the trainer only reiterated what I learned in those books. This app allows me to be connected to real professionals at any time of the day, and it offers me a lot of flexibility in scheduling a training session. The trainer was extremely helpful and answered all my questions thoroughly. This app is well worth the money!
Update 4/3/21 Still a great app, I brought it down to 4 stars because my app doesn't work properly on my flagship phone (Samsung Note 10+). Seems to work way better on an IPhone. Luckily I have both. But I would much rather use my personal phone (Samsung) then my company phone (IPhone). Please fix this issue and I will update my rating.
I tried the app for the $1 trial and although the video training session was great, it has been difficult to potty train my pup. Every time i messaged the trainer a different person would reply which seemed a bit impersonal to me. I never heard back from the trainer i had the video chat with. I think if youre going to assign a customer to a trainer they should be the point of contact the whole way. Great concept for those who cant afford an in person trainer. I ended up canceling.
Our trainer has been so supportive and like a close friend talking us through training. Our pup was responsive and graduated 101 with flying colors. I looooovvveee the reminders for training and the instant messaging feature if I needed help with something not covered in our training curriculum. I highly recommend Good Pup!!
We are learning so much and really appreciate our trainer Karen. We look forward to future sessions as we're just getting started.
I'm super bummed it's so expensive. The app is really beautiful. But 100$/mo. is too much especially because I just needed it to keep track of skills learned. I can go get private lessons for that price.
At this point the rating is for the app experience on Android and two great sessions with a knowledgeable trainer through the app named Sara. I think the pricing is good and I love how it makes it accessible for me in these times. Judd's potty training is so much better in two weeks. I'm looking forward to completing the course of trainings and updating this. I'd recommend anybody try it out for the free week if you think it could help you.
Do not use this app!! I canceled my appointment and subscription since another family member registered my puppy elsewhere but this company charged me anyways, even though I canceled and never used the service. When I filed with my bank to get it back they lied to the bank and said I had not canceled so the bank took the money again AND added fees. Would take away the 1 star if I could. Was told I was getting a refund after my review, of course I never did
I saw an ad for one on one training for 29$ a week on my Facebook and after spending a couple hours reading reviews i was super excited to have someone to help me and Dolly learn together. Filled out the whole application only to see that they are charging 45$ a week instead of 29$ Maybe it's because I live in Canada but if the Advertisment is running in Canada then the price should be displayed in Canadian Dollars. I hope you honor the advertised price, 180 is way more than 120/ month
I would never had downloaded if I knew it was so expensive. After you answer all their questions, they require your credit card to get started. Another app that will charge you if you don't remember to cancel it. Absolutely not!
I really appreciate the one on one training sessions and the ability to ask questions through the week. The trainer is very encouraging and provides additional techniques to try to keep the training on track. I also like that I have the ability to track our homework. It keeps me honest and working with our puppy.
sent review below, developer was very responsive to feedback and questions. will be giving app a try. Please be more clear about your fees in the description. I'm willing to pay for what looks like, according to reviewers, a good service, however, when you aren't up front about the cost it feels pretty scammy. Makes me unsure if I should even try it.
I love love love my trainer, Kenzi!! I am so happy to be able to do this training at home with an one on one training. And the price is very comparable and reasonable if not cheaper than others. I am so delighted that I found this app and have been paired with an extraordinary trainer. And the communication is superb and in a timely fashion. YOU ALL ROCK!!!!! This app even after not using services and canceling subscription on Google play still took 29.00 from my account. It is also hard to get contact them concerning the issue. I would not recommend to anyone and now I have to cancel my credit card to not get money stole from app again they don't deserve even one star so upset.
Review was taken down after they responded to it? The app still costs $29 a week and there is no mention of this up front and they waste your time walking through a questionnaire before even letting you know that:( So it is not a good app and deserves the 1 star due to the deception up front. REPLY TO DEV: I don't need your apology, the community needs you to be more honest and up front about your offering. Your deception is inexcusable.
We got a puppy during the COVID quarantine, and while both my girlfriend and I have raised dogs, it's been a while since we raised a puppy. Goodpup has been super helpful in training with 1 on 1 classes, and we really appreciate that they answer questions quickly through chat. Our puppy Lucy has been very receptive to the training and just graduated from their 101 class. We'd definitely do it again.
The reviews are false. They charge, get this, 29.95$ a week. Every single week. Your better off going to someone in person for a one time payment fee. What a ridiculous app fee. A one time fee would of been the best route here.
The app was very easy to use. Karen's guidance was instrumental in making our experience with our new puppy great. Her tips and advice were extremely clear. She was very experienced and knowledgeable. She had excellent tips for every problem we encountered.
