There are many improvements that could be made: the possibility of putting half stars when rating a book, improving the cover / barcode scanner, being able to reject certain recommendations to refine your preferences, adding other types of book status such as "in my library", "borrowed" or "abandoned". The interface is mediocre coming from an application with such a community and a visibility made by the media very extensive.

I'm so frustrated with the last update. Since then I haven't been able to see any reviews. Some books have lousy synopses so I mostly rely on reviews to figure out if a book is worth my time. The app also has issues with the back button taking you to the home page instead of the last page you were on which makes it needlessly difficult to search for books by genre.

I can't use it, I need to use the web version. Why don't let use the select text and use the translation options like Google translate menu. I don't get it. You do this in the web view but not in your app. One amazing thing that you can do with copy paste and translate option is see rewievs in other languages, and if you don't know a word, ¡here we are! You can translate it without go out the app!

Bar code scanner is very finicky and there is no way to mass add books to a specific shelf. You have to constantly change from "want to read"...very annoying and time consuming. Had to exit the bar code scanner every 2nd or 3rd book to get it to scan. Also, the ISBN search has given me an error every single time. With and without dashes

The amount of pages about a book seem to almost always be incorrect, which is quite annoying when you want to log the page you are on. The UI of the app is "meh", I feel like it could use some updated. Some parts so look clean, though. I highly recommend to use the GoodReads website on a computer instead. Using the app is only convenient for quickly adding a book. Use GR on a computer if you haven't already. It's 10x better. Easier to use. And more interactive. This app needs to be worked on.

I love the desktop version with all my heart, but the app is incredibly glitchy and hard to use. One of the small but super annoying things about it is you can't go to a book and customize the reviews you see to only a single rating. (Ex: reviews for ratings of only 3 stars.) It's something I do all the time to see the pros and cons of a book, and it's very bothersome I can't do it on the app. This review would be five stars if they updated the app to have all the features of the desktop version

This app NEEDS updates. It is so difficult to do anything beyond searching for book titles and adding them to your list. You can't search for friends by their names. When you are on the explore page and click a book to look at then hit back it doesn't return to the place you left off. You can't @ people when you reply to their comments so it is hard to have any sort of 2-way interactions. I think this could be an amazing app with once it gets some attention from the development team

Terrible - 0 stars It doesn't hold your place when you exit the app. Earning points is nearly impossible. Each chapter is a different amount of points and it doesn't ask if you want to turn on auto scroll it auto selects it, then suddenly you are out of points. I'd much rather be able to buy the book outright or at least know the point value of the book before I start to read it. Also, I understand that these are self published books but proof read & edit before posting, please!

I've been using this app for years and years and used to love it but there have been several changes over the years and this last one tipped it to 1 star. First I couldn't search reviews for specific words, annoying but made it work. Now I can't see/read the reviews anymore on the app, I now have to go into the website on my phone to actually use goodreads. It's basically a pointless app now and I'm about to delete it and just link to the website on my phone instead.

It's still fine, but they're pretty clearly just phoning it in at this point since they're really the only service for this. It desperately needs a 'not interested' option in the top picks for you section, and the search seems to have some weird behavior at times but I guess it still does what it's supposed to

Horrible app! Not user-friendly at all. I can't find other people, I can't filter reviews, and the weirdest own - I can't even find what my username is and where my reviews are. It's like someone tried to make the app as unusable as possible. Nothing makes sense, nothing is where it should logically be. Did an alien with no knowledge of our world design this??? Get better UI designers, Goodreads.

Pretty good app. My one complaint is that the interface isn't great. For example if you're reading an article that lists books, you can't get back to the article after clicking on a book in the list. Anything you do just takes you back to the page before. And you can't open the book in a new window.

I love this app use it constantly to add books to my lists. But it Loses a star because the Android version doesn't let you change book editions in app and I know you can do it on iOS which is a bit frustrating because sometimes scanning the ISBN doesn't always give the correct cover and I like my covers in the app to match the books on my shelf.

All the store links are gone in the app, and the series links are either gone or broken. The mobile website works fine. Idk why the app has just been abandoned or something while the mobile site is decent but not as good as the app used to be. Sidenote, even on the mobile site many series links are wrong or missing or broken. Some weird moderation problem?

Loads way too slowly, and I don't know why the genre of the book you are looking at isn't shown. The Webpage is way better as there is the hover function of the books and it shows information quickly. The app is too slow and feels incomplete with missing features and poorer design.

The idea is amazing but some improvements need to be made: UI is a bit buggy and old, not so intuitive. A more immediate way to follow your favourite author. Homepage is not so aligned to your genres. In general, should be more fluid.

It would be really nice if there was the option for half stars because there's a big difference between 4, 4.5, and 5 stars. the page numbers also seem a bit off, but that can be fixed by entering in the percentage instead. the .5 stars would be a HUGE improvement.

I've had Goodreads for years and loved the app. Lately, though, I've been having trouble with connection. My books don't update as "read" when done, previous ratings disappear and when I open the app, more often than not, it gives me error messages with a reload option. I've uninstalled and re-installed the app, I logged out and back in, no difference. Please fix this bug because it's driving me bonkers.

So ridiculously slow and it's missing basic features, like sorting lists by rating, date etc. If you're going to give me a list with 5000+ books, I'm not going to look at it in your random order. I need filters and sorting.

It automatically added everyone on my Facebook and in my contacts. So that was frustrating, to say the least. Not even friend requests, they were just added. I went from having zero to having dozens in a split second.

The best part of this app is the ability to add books via camera. However there are so many inconsistencies that don't make any sense. I can only read reviews that other users have written on about a third of the books I'm looking at. Why not all of them?! It makes no sense that you can see full reviews on some books but not others.

I don't know how to verified my emails so I can register my own book. There's no email inbox from the app for verification and I tried everything both on mobile phone and web PC. Nothing's work. I had to uninstall it now.
