The Google Shopping experience is pretty clean and intuitive, and the selection of products from various stores is nicely varied. I really appreciate that my purchases are "carbon neutral" thanks to Google's sustainability commitments and the checkout process is simple and smooth. My only complaint is that I don't have a simple way of submitting feedback on products that don't correctly show up in my search or on reviews that are incorrectly associated to a product.
The app is fine, but Google Express in itself is not the best compared to other shopping sites. I tried Express out and thought it was great at first. However, maybe it's just Walmart that does this, but your card does not get charged until after receiving the merchandise. This can get confusing. They could at least put the hold on the card that you are using. They waited a week after I received my orders to charge my card. You do not get free shipping unless you spend a certain ammount. For Walmart, $25. This is great if you need multiple items, but not so great if you only need one item.
It's the right idea but it is a poor implementation. This should be a simple shopping list creator that works seemlessly with assistant. But it seems more focused on the buying and not on the list. The shopping list should be the first thing that comes up and this apps SCREAMS for a widget for the shopping list with tabs for all the various lists. This is mostly geared toward buying online.
The app has had problems in the past that I did not expect from Google, but it seems that it's solved now. Now I find it even easier than Amazon to browse. Still shipping takes longer than Amazon, but I can find many items like pet supplies cheaper here. "The app was working fine, but now as soon as I choose my cart, the app shuts down and closes itself everytime. Completely useless. The problem has been going on for 3 days now, even after I reinstalled the app."
Was great until this update. Now my lists are directed to the web and I can't change the quantity. For a while I was able to install an older version and disable auto-update, but the previous version then no longer worked without updating. I don't care if it does integrate with my Google Home, I'm not going to go outside to open my list when I don't have internet in a store. Unless or until it's changed, time to find something else.
Along with what the other reviewers are saying, this most recent update ruined the shopping list portion of this app, which is the primary reason why I downloaded it in the first place. The shopping list part now just serves as a wrapper to a web page instead of having a local version of the list, and if you want to create or rename or open a shared list or really do anything with it, you have to go to the web version.
as far as purchasing your product and getting what you asked for that happens that has nothing to do with the rating. My experience with the app that has everything to do with the rating. It is not quite organized yet I will put things into wish lists then I'll tap on the things in my wish list to take a look at them It doesn't let me look at the item online anymore. also saying that my items are buy one get one free when I go into my cart the deal is not available.
The main draw for Google Shopping is that you can just throw things in your cart from different stores and buy them automatically through Google. You don't have to keep creating accounts at every different store and adding your payment and address information constantly over and over. Unfortunately, that's about where the benefit ends. Google chooses a retailer for you automatically. If you select a different one, you have to go to their website, which then defeats the purpose of the app.
One problem. Whenever I either check an item as "purchased" and/or delete an item from my shopping list, when I go back one page, the "total number of items" is always listed the same. Or rather, it's accumulatively getting bigger. It seems to be tallying every item that's ever been on my shopping list, whether it's still on the list or not. My shopping list right now has oranges, apples, and lettuce on it right now, but it says that there are 21 items on my shopping list. Pls fix
I REALLY want to use this instead of Amazon, because the stores themselves fulfill the orders, but the majority of orders I've placed miss their shipping estimates, and several have been cancelled without any apparent reason. Selection is also not great, browsing and filtering isn't very robust, and there aren't many details about items so you can check before you buy.
I like that you can add to the cart without having to go to the description, would be nice to do the same with the list or add it to a favorites list. Wish you could create more than one list and that the page didn't automatically refresh and jump to the top of the page after scrolling down tons pages. The'Wish shopping app does it perfect, or if long pressing a product you quickly add it to the cart or a list. It's nice you can search many stores. Just wish it was easier to add and navigate.
Easy to use and compare prices. However, my 2nd purchase was through a retailer that never delivered my item. After 4 calls/chats, Google support refunded my cost but refused expedited shipping on my next order (the process took 20+ days and 2 separate orders). Also, they expected me to pay the current price, which was $40 more! Stick with Ebay or Amazon. They have much faster shipping and better customer service when issues arise. I'm a huge Google fan. This was disappointing.
Personally I've used Express once and realized it was too pricey compared to online prices or even Amazon for that matter...so I deleted it. I wanted to use the service again but after reading the reviews by some of the prior users, i think I'd rather continue using Amazon for now. Can't beat their prices and Free 1-day/2-day delivery services. Don't get me wrong, I love Google and I would like to work for them but, some of their products are not worth using, buying, and/or downloading.
Like Amazon, but twice the price. Everything is very expensive. I can't see myself buying anything on here even with the 20% coupon I got in an email. As for the app itself, it isn't very nice the use. Scrolling is a hassle, and the categories of some sections seem to be lacking. Many sections are arbitrary while others need more sub-categories.
Please make a shortcut to the home page. Hopefully I'm not just missing it, but if I search for things and then want to go back to the home page to explore I can't seem to find a way without pressing the back button a dozen or so times. Or make the hamburger (three line icon for menu) on each screen so you can access that menu all the time. Thanks! I LOVE that you're doing the work to shop several stores instantly for me (like Walmart, Target, & BB&B, Walgreens, etc. to find an item I want for the cheapest price! Brilliant! Will u in time add BB&B as a link-able store so we can use our coupons there?) Thanks again!
Lackluster selection of products, poor interface. Takes several minutes to load, and is completely unresponsive to all forms of input until the initial page is loaded (even the navigation buttons at the bottom don't seem to do anything until the front page has loaded in). I was excited that Amazon finally had a competitor but am beginning to realize that "competitor" is generous here.
Disappointed. Sorting options less thorough than other online stores. One can't select solid color versus prints. After selecting an item and using the back button, one is returned to the previous screen at the top of the list instead of the middle where looking before. This makes searching tedious in a long list of filtered items. Limited brands and vendors. Many vendors charge shipping fees/large minimum purchases. Uninstalled the app.
Great app design for aggregating products from sellers all over the internet. Would be nice if there was a subscription service to get free shipping and if delivery estimates were displayed next to each item. The product catalog isn't nearly as big as Amazon either, and I think Google should do a better job of advertising this to merchants.
It used to work. Now it doesn't give you results anymore. It just makes you constantly pick subgroups and then another subgroup and then another subgroup without giving you any results. Thumbs down! Edit. The above issue seems to be working now. The new problem: you can search for a product and get results. But after, you try to sort by low to high, all your results disappear. So, basically it does not sort your results.
I've used it a few times. Never had a problem. I use it primarily for comparative online shopping, as this app will often have lower prices than competitors, including Amazon. That speaks for itself. Also, it provides deals not found elsewhere, such as orders with Boxed through Google Express. There are a lot of advantages to using this app, and it is a great tool. I can't wait to see how it matures in the future, and definitely need to try it with Google Assistant.
I don't see the point. Samsung pay, Ibotta and Ebates all offer better deals and cash back for shopping through their sites. The prices on the site are not any better than you find elsewhere and with no incentive to use the app. I am a Google fan all the way and planning on switching my laptop and phone to Google platforms in the near future, but this app is pointless and awful. Even amazon's woot page offers better deals. This one just truly falls flat for providing any real service or deals.
It's a great idea. But it's pretty useless most times. Obviously, the biggest online retailer is Amazon, so naturally, most times they have the best prices. Google Shopping does not show you the prices Amazon offers, so you will probably end up paying more because of this app. The only time I could see myself using this app is on the rare occasion that Amazon doesn't have what I need for sale.
First you buried shopping lists, this app's one useful feature, several clicks deep. Then you switch to a web page that requires a working internet connection? My shopping trip was fun last night, having to step out of the store from time to time to check my list. If you need to kill this app (why?), it would probably be better to just do it all at once, rather than slowly antagonize your users and convince them that you're a bunch of idiots. I'm laboriously copying my lists to Anylist. If that doesn't work out, there seem to be plenty of shopping list apps, I'm sure they're all better than this POS.
As aesthetically pleasing as everything looks and suits Google's style, I really have to admit that I was rather disappointed in how difficult it was to search for specific items with any kind of ease. I'm fairly certain that I can find things better by just using the basic browser. Anyhow. I hope to download this again sometime in the future and hopefully it will operate with a bit more efficiency and clarity.
Come on Google. I love all your apps but this one needs a lot of work. I use the shopping list all the time through Google Assistant but Google keeps make it more difficult with every update to get to the shopping list. There are way too many clicks required to get to my shopping list and now it goes to an ugly unusable web interface. I need to be able to get to my list without requiring a web connection when in several stores that do not have a great data connection. Please fix this Google.
I tried to like it. It's not very googly. It shows so many redundant products. For example I'll see 50 products that are the same but differ in color and I have to scroll through them. It's slow. For a product page, if I choose a different color or style then the whole page reloads ... and not quickly. It wasn't great at discovering products of interest. I search for something and get results that don't match the intent. For example I search for dress shirt and get results for kids clothes.
