It's annoying. It gives only a few images for related searches and the sensitivity for selection is too much, and when I try to go back it brings me to the top of the search results and I have to find where I was before. This is a pre-installed app I am being forced to use and I can't download the original Google. Also the search bar and the suggestions are weird and the view is unappealing and confusing. I don't like it.
This app does what it says and it is seriously fast cause of how minimalised everything is. Although there might be a bit too much minimalising cause there sadly isn't any dark mode and the front page honestly looks kinda ugly. They did however add the option to choose your wallpaper which is a plus I guess. Overall a good app for those on slow connections and/or metered connections
This app gets it. Every image, long press, download easily selectable, always downloads. How has the basic Google app not gotten this core feature right for so long?? Before you whinge, I know there are screenshots but I don't always want them, I want just the original image so I don't have to crop as much and lose real estate on the frame.
As soon as I opened the app my retinas melted! I get that this is supposed to be a "lightweight" search engine, but dark mode has become a pretty standard feature. Everything else on my phone is darkened; this app is now the only exception. Unfortunate.
It is very lite and easy to use however it only has images and web details when you search. I couldn't figure out how to set it to dark theme if there is an option. I prefer the classic look of google as it is bigger and you aren't bombarded with huge text with a centimetre long search bar. Just not for me but it could be useful for other people.
I wish I had paid more and got a fully featured android/ google phone. Whilst the blurb 'sells' it on being lighter, faster etc, it is hard to find out beforehand the limitations. These are manyfold and infuriating when you have been used to a regular phone. My blood pressure may demand that it goes in the bin before long.
It's not as light and quick to use as it used to be. The adverts make it difficult to read articles on the screen and the regular updates that prevent the shortcut bar from working from the home screen.
Confusing compared to the normal google which every android user is used to. Cannot search music with voice, cannot even (easily) find news,does not open tabs in chrome. Generally pretty worse but thanks for making something lite with little space. I guess it's a fair few megabytes down from the normal
Whenever I open discover, only the 3/4th part of news titles is shown and other part just disappears it's just like like a zoomed in picture where you can't see the other part that you didn't zoom in. I have tried everything restarting, switching my phone, uninstalling, reinstalling the app and updates, force stop, EVERYTHING! Please give me the solution to this it's really annoying
Very great job at performance and responsiveness, the design good too. Overall it's purpose at keeping it simple is pretty much complete, I hope it won't get worse as time passes by with updates.
This app is horrible! I try to type, and when I try to type voice always opens up for anything I tried to do. Like right now I'm trying to type in this box, and Voice keeps opening up. This app came with my phone oh, and I tried to uninstall it and just put regular Google in, because it keeps defaulting to pre-installed searches that it wants me to go look at. Now all I get is it telling me voice cannot type. Stay away from this! Horrible app!
It appears Google has uninstalled itself and Google Go is not getting updated and it creates problem of not able to open multiple tabs at a time. I have to restart the mobile again and again to go to another segment of phone/programme. Please check this and rectify the error immediately. Thanks.
Absolute garbage... I've just updated this and decided to actually use it to open Facebook... The text loads on-top of other text and runs off the screen... The same with photos... How is this even remotely usable... go-lite rubbish... And it loads very slow... Seriously!!! 1 star just so I could load this here... 😠
I would like to suggest a dark mode feature so my eyes won't hurt while I look over the search results. It would also be great if it can also darken the websites in-app. Thank you for this helpful, lightweight, and fast app.
please add another speed level for the TTS, simili to the Google assistant speed or the Read aloud function for the Google app on ios. the maximum level 3, is not enough. otherwise it is a wonderful app to cope with my limited data plan, please don't kill it just like you did with the chrome datasaver. Than you.
this version is terrible. It doesn't always have a correct list. It closes just when you do find your result and press it. Then it doesn't go back to the same results when you re-search it again. I tried 5 times to search a simple recipe. And now when I want to UN-install it (it wasn't my choice to have it, it was per-loaded that way), and install regular Google, it won't let me. If I could rate it I would rate no stars.
I'm switching to this simple because it feels more complete the chrome, a bottom search bar, minimal UI, everything feels more complete and with the bottom search bar so much easier to navigate, take note, chrome needs this sought of update
The worst part is you can't uninstall this slow, worthless app that doesn't even change the speed of searching. What is even the point of this? Awful all around with no value or advantage.
why not add a convenient way to access the downloaded files like chrome that's literally the only thing that annoys me while using this app and most of the time I use the browser to download files so I hope you add a delicated button for that one essential function it would be much appreciated
Well it is a fast browser and a very good one too but when i try to download a file it becomes unavailable to open or to activate. I'd like this to be fixed because I'm thinking to make this my default browser now.
I don't care for it at all. What's more is I can't uninstall it. I believe it's the reason I can't install the REAL google. Also certain features of my launcher only work with the original google. Its described as a tool for crying out loud, it should be uninstalled if I want! Edit: when are you going to make it so it can be uninstalled? I don't appreciate being forced into using what you want me too. I should be able to choose
Its fast, concise, to the point. The Google searches are fast. Opens the images in high quality with no fuss. Once again, its crazy fast! Love it.
Works great! It's nice for when I'm on my tablet, which is old and slow, and take forever to load using regular Google. Definitely recommend for slower devices or quick searches!
The results from the Google Go search bar do not autorotate from portrait to landscape and back, even though I have autorotation turned on and all of my other apps are autorotating.
Google Go is the worst POS I've every incountered from Google. It's like Windows Vista for a phone.... Unusable. The only purpose it serves is take an old POS phone that the government provides and make it unusable. Google teamed up with providers to make sure anyone that receives phone assistance won't be able to use it. Screw the poor, right?
I HATE THIS APP ☠️☠️☠️ It'd get zero stars if that option was available!! It changes the language, the settings don't work at all, it takes forever to get any information. And I can't delete it to add the Google app!
The App is fast in searching but when I updated it, it starts being annoying coz it can't show downloads and other shortcuts as before! 🤦 I wish I could not update it! And it can't turn to dark mode as other go apps! Plz think of that!
Can't use google lens to search for objects from a photo. Google go can only search or translate words from photos. When I installed lens to search for objects it says that it needs google app. When I tried to install google app it rejected the installation probably because of the presence of google go. Tried to uninstall google go to install google. Didn't work
It works amazing! The load time is phenomenal, and it's very responsive. I also like the app selection it offers, it makes it easier to use reddit or quora without using space on my phone. It would be awesome if they would add a landscape mode for tablets, it's not very convenient(especially for typing) to flip over my tablet to use the app. I'm hoping in the future it will have both portrait & landscape mode.
