Google Handwriting Input

I personally believe that the app is great and has certainly got improved handwriting recognition then most other apps. The reason why I am not giving it a 5-star is because, I believe that they should make a additional button in replacement of the cloud button for emojis. And also offer different sizes to increase the writing area. Like offered in Gboard--"med-tall, tall". Again the app is very positive and i would definitely recommend it, even if you just keep it as an option.

it works just fine for me. What's silly is that people are flipping out over the "This input method may be able to collect all the text you type including personal data like passwords and credit card numbers. It comes from the app Google Handwriting Input. Use this input method?" thing. THAT IS THE PHONE'S DEFAULT MESSAGE FOR ENABLING ANY KEYBOARD APP. EVERY keyboard will give you that message, because every keyboard has that capability. That does not mean every keyboard DOES really do that.

Initially, I LOVED the app's alternative to "touch typing" on a miniscule phone screen keyboard. At some point, the Line Feed button became an emoji button and I found that annoying. In this feedback form, the LF button is present.... There have been no updates to this app since Aug 2018. I suspect (from reading the Gboard update details) that handwriting input is being integrated into Gboard. I would have thought that detail could be shared in a more direct manner.

Hi, I was using this app very frequently and for the past few months is unable to use as the app is hanging and I have to do a force shut down all the time. I use a S10. Has un installed and installed the Handwriting input app 5 to 6 times and has sent many messages to the customer team and hasn't received any help. Has updated the software patches at all times. Totally stuck

I used to love this app and I relied on it heavily; unfortunately, it stopped working to the tune of "Waiting for handwriting support to download...". I cleared the cache, uninstalled & reinstalled and was met with the same "waiting to download" message, so I cleared the cache, data, uninstalled & reinstalled but again, no dice. Any ideas, save factory resetting my phone?

For writing extended text blocks it is the next best thing to having a physical keyboard. My two problems are, it sometimes does not add spaces between words and it has problems recognizing the difference between o-a, v-w, w-m. But on the whole better than a soft keyboard for writing.

This is actually very well done but is quite a pain when trying to enter passwords but I don't think that can really be helped much. Would also like to see integration with contacts, press and hold back button to delete entire word, tap back to remove letters, etc. Overall very enjoyable experience.

I am using this app mainly to write Malayalam. So far this is the best app I ever used to do that. the only problem is that it has limitations in differentiating between the ''vwa' sound and 'vya' sound. For example, 'ക്വ' (Kwa) and 'ക്യ' (kya) look similar in Malayalam and when you use handwriting input most of the time, when I use 'ക്വ' it identifies it as 'ക്യ' even if I put a 90 degree bend on that symbol which looks like a right corner bracket, it identifies only after three or four attempts. A slight improvement may be needed.

This would be a great app when it works. I use the speech to text feature of this app regularly. I am sorry to say that this feature is very tempremental. Sometimes it does not work for no obvious reason. Imagine the frsutration when dictating to the app only to find out that it stopped typing a few minutes earlier.

This is so much more accurate than Samsung! I looked for another app because the Samsung keyboard was inaccurate with gesture typing. Loved the handwriting aspect. But, it too was a really acquired skill and I wasn't acquiring it. Went back to my favorite keyboard, Kii2. (An APK file, and Handcent Emoji APK.) Samsung handwriting wouldn't open consistently, so tried this. It's way more accurate, and real easy to switch back and forth.

Installed this app after seeing a tutorial online and always having excellent experiences with Google products. However, this application was a huge letdown. Kept crashing each and every time I tried to employ it. Disappointed is an understatement.

Before Android 10... 5 stars, better than Samsung handwriting within Messaging, Email, etc. Since Beta One UI update & after, this program crashes, won't even get to a point being able to use it. So, I'm disappointed but can we do anything about it until it's updated for 10.

I had this app on my phone for a few years and loved it. It suddenly stopped working after an Android update. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but would not work. Please could you rectify the issue.

5 stars, now that it's working again! Thank you!! In my opinion, and based on recent experience, this is still the best handwriting input app. No stars, pending a fix. Loved this app - until the android update. As others have mentioned, it's now totally broken. Not what I expect from Google. Please fix asap!

The app is not at all good because it keeps on crashing. My phone is password protected and just because I switched to this keyboard, I was locked out of my phone as there was no keyboard where I could enter my password. Even after knowing my password, I could not unlock my mobile. This wasted a lot, lot and lot of my time and I could finally solve the problem by rebooting and switching to safe mode. I then immediately uninstalled this app after which my mobile started working perfectly fine.

Compared to the Samsung writing experience this app just doesn't stack up which is unfortunate because I love G board, so I have to the switch keyboards daily, the presentation and word recognition need some fine tuning for sure, seems like Samsung is more accurate at understanding andconverting my bad hand writing ,I primarily write in cursive ,some color options would be nice, thanks

Handwritten text lingers on screen bit longer. There should be control in the settings allowing user to decide how fast words should go away / disappear. Also other features of GBoard like 2 taps tor punctuation, Sentence case, selection should be allowed. The keyboard is great and will become wonderful if with above add-on

Please fix the app and make it compatible with Android 10 that was updated on December 18. Since then, no matter what do, the app still doesn't work and keeps crashing and force to close. Please fix it! I need the app to handwrite words. Thank you!

Really useful app lets you type in any language you like. The most efficient way to type in any language except English. I prefer the normal keyboard for English but there maybe people who find difficulties with normal keyboard so it's useful for them too.Its especially useful for languages with a lot of letters like Malayalam 😁😁

The keyboard used to be great and functional, and it helped me with my writing and learning of Japanese kanji characters. Now the keyboard won't even open, and crashes. Hopefully someone at Google will fix the error soon.

This is great for writing Ianguages with alphabetic scripts, but the input clears out too fast for Japanese. It's impossible to write 愛知県, for example, since it doesn't give you enough time to finish writing a 漢字. Maybe there should be some entry speed control.

I loved this app back when it worked. It was so easy to use on my Galaxy Note 10+. Unfortunately it no longer works ... It will not open the keyboard and only crashes saying "the app has stopped working". Please fix this and I'll edit my review back to the 5 stars it deserves.

No palm rejection so it's hard to write on a tablet. I must write from the corner. Also how to add new words in it? I tried to Google it but I don't get the answer. Currently I'm writing a story with a lot of uncommon names and this keyboard doesn't recognise it so I must spell it. Pretty anoying. Other than those two problems this is a wonderful keyboard that can read my messy handwriting so well. I can write a lot with this.
