the app search in the app drawer doesnt work if I type in chrome(which I have installed) it tells me "no apps found matching "chrome"". it does this with any search, even the first letter of an app. I think this has something to do with discover, aparenly some people have fixed this by turning that back on but that's a really wierd bug.
Best launcher and cleaner look. However every time I switch to ultra power saving mode the shortcuts in the homescreen are GONE which it would be a lost progress arranging the icons again or to prevent from shortcuts to loss I prevent to not activating the ultra power saving mode which is not comfortable especially you need most of the battery.
I've been using my motog4plus for two years. At first google now launcher was very smooth and doing a great job. But I don't know why , since recent months the system ui kept closing. And from an update(i don't remember which one, but a recent one) the launcher icon was appeared on my app drawer! Aha! Google had made some customization!! But nothing happened. Just an icon on your app drawer to distract you. You can't hide it. U can't use it !! Very disappointed. 😢
What the heck does this do anyway? Often when I have problems with apps closing and or opening on their own, etc., Google Now Launcher has opened itself. This is especially true with music apps like Pandora and Spotify, and others who have commented seem to be having similar problems. What's going on Google? Come on, help us by fixing this app.
Apps doesn't show up. The first week was fine but after that, none of the apps would show up on the menu. I had this similar issue with other devices as well. please fix this. I'd really like to use it again. I've tried reinstalling and restarting my device but it still won't fix.
This app is nice! It isn't as customizable as other launchers but this is the reason why it doesn't take much space. It's the lightest launcher I've ever tried. There's also one thing I would like to have in the app. Could you please make a function so that we can move the app drawer so that it will be easier for me? I use my tablet mostly in landscape mode and it's kinda hard for me to move my finger across the screen to get the app drawer. Moving it to the bottom right corner would be great!
Really great launcher... Works smooth without any lag. But it would've been really great if you added double tap to both wake and lock the screen. Because using the power button all the time would certainly decrease its life. I'll give 5 stars if that feature is added in the next update!
Google now came with my Voyager III Tablets. After it updated it kept turning the Google app on when I didn't request it. I installed Apex classic over it. Full Apex locks the tablet in landscape mode. Because Google now launcher keeps turning on the Google app when its unwanted I don't like it. Someone else might but its too pushy on starting that Google app,
The google app loaded slowly when using this launcher. It also wouldn't load the keyboard automatically if accessed from landscape mode. I use search often enough that this made my new tablet feel slow and clunky as compared to my old one. Now that I'm using a new launcher, I doubt I'll look back to this one
I don't know what you guys just did the app tray got blank and not showing any apps. I have to ask Google assistant to open apps. I'm now forced to switch back to the manufacturer launcher which personally I dislike. Anyway it has been my default launcher for 3 years on all of my every smartphone and tablet. Please fix this and please inform me if it gets finished.
App is very Good 1. Reduce the app icon size and make icons crisp and neat and shiny 2. In home screen, swipe down should bring down the notification bar 3. Option to customise Google search Bar, i.e., move, resize, or even delete it. 4. In Menus, vertical scrolling is good, but the top 4 should be customisable or top 4 most used apps should be there.
I like exploring other launchers. I have tried quite a few. I still find Google's Launcher the best fit for me. Thank you Google for 10+ yrs of inspiration!! My first steps on the "World Wide Web" with Phys Micro Sys, and Microsoft were taught by you!! Are there ads here? I haven't seen any!! Thanks again!!
It constantly self launches when I am using other apps and crashes everything. No clue why. I've disabled everything I can with it and it just won't go away. This app is the worst experience I have ever had with a smart phone.
The recently used apps in the upper most row should have recently used apps only. It shows Google + app in that list on the first place. I never use that app. I actually want to uninstall Google Plus and Hangouts apps but I am not allowed to do that. I am ok with keeping these apps, but having it in the recent app list even after not using it is not justified. I would like to tell Google that, such complusion will not motivate me to use Google Plus.
Hate the fact Google stopped updating this in favor of pixel launcher. Its been one and half year since the last update. Pixel launcher doesnt support on all devices even. Seriously Google, What's the point in creating a newly branded launcher and soon abondoning it ? Much needed updates here are bigger fonts, dark app drawer, remove persistent search from app drawer.
Google Now launcher was good earlier. Now it seems to hog the phone. The News feed has changed - no option to choose disinterest in topic. Cumbersome new interface to hide/dismiss news items. Earlier swipe to dismiss was easy. Looks like Google is becoming the new Microsoft or is competing to get crowned for CPU hog software development and overconfident don't care for end users attitude. BTW uninstalled the launcher. Trying out MS launcher which is good but tries to hook me into MS account and other MS apps. Few other launchers Evie and one other launcher (free and no ads) also seem to be good.
App is good but you should have more settings in it. As one can change the size of icon as well as of drawer. Somethings a user can customize should as have in it. It has only 3 settings. This you can introduce icon pack, Themes different options must be there. So that all I hope you will read this Google. Thanks
Best launcher they ever made. Still worked on Pixel 2 XL if you manually install the APK, erase Default and reboot. Wish they would go back to this. Pixel Launcher is horrible with the forced search box on the bottom of the screen.
The app description says it's available on all devices with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or higher, but when I try to install it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 tablet with Android 8.0 (Oreo), it says it's not compatible with my device. Google needs to fix this! I have the Google Pixel 3 XL, but since Google doesn't make a cheap Android Tablet, I'm forced to buy a Samsung tablet and want it to work like my Pixel 3 XL.
I like it but I'm not getting a response from the developers via email. It works amazing except for the background, for some reason after a few hours the background goes back to being the default one.
I'm a huge fan of this, but after a system restore on my S7 I can no longer load this launcher. Really irritates me since that is the launcher I've been using for the past 3 years and I'm really used to it. Please support it on the S7 again!!
Whenever an app is running in the background, this Google now launcher keeps on stopping the app from working. Mostly it happens with the music apps... I couldn't find any solution to this.
The only problem I experienced was the issue with the app drawer not showing any of my apps at all, also when I try to search for an app it tells me to open the Play Store, other reviews show the same problem, great launcher but this problem needs to be fixed.
Cant be disabled. Takes up space on the home screen and slows down my phone. The search doesnt even open in Chrome so you dont have your passwords etc unless you tap the settings and "Open in Chrome." May as well just open the Chrome app...
Menu disappeared all of a sudden. It was a horrible experience to see an empty menu. Rebooting the phone didn't solve it. Had to uninstall. Google apps seem to be full of bugs👎😤
I keep getting a pop up the the Google application stopped working then it gives me two options to exit the app or to send feedback I've done both and it still keeps popping up I can hardly use my phone I even cleared cache and cleared data and uninstalled it it's still happening idk what to do
Google now launcher keeps opening in the background and cuts off my music and disrupts the functions of my apps. So very annoying. I tried uninstalling updates and force stopping the app and nothing has worked.
A no-nonsense launcher, excellent for phones with low-end specs. Extremely fast, stable and responsive. Low-level of customizability is not its drawback, but its advantage, because that's the only reason why this launcher is so lightweight. Google Discover is quite useful. For those who like to meddle a lot with their phones, certainly not a good choice, but excellent for those who are minimalistic and too busy to fumble with their phones all the time.
