Thanks for the link but as I said the warning that my data isn't backed will still show up because I'm using "high quality" instead of "original quality" so it's basically a trick to make me pay more. Also when we tap "switch to full resolution" it's not clear what it does but then I checked in Google Photos and it changed the setting from high quality to original quality.... Bad commercial practice in my opinion

I have exchanged 96 emails (starting from November 2021!) with support trying to figure out why I am completely unable to retrieve my backed up data from the app, at all ever. Now about once a month I get an email saying they have no information, and to get the monthly email I have to contact them three or four times first. They're scammers, period.

I kept running out of space on my phone and was constantly having to either manually go into my photos and videos and remove them, or uninstall apps to free up space. I decided to look into Google One and I paid for a cloud storage package that fits what I and my family need, and it has been great! Totally worth the price, and it's been great not seeing the storage warning since!

My S8 backup ran last night. Now one of my home page folders is gone. The apps in the folder are gone from my app list. Oddly one of the apps that was also in the sidebar, it's there and runs, but is not in the app list. Does anyone now how to undone. Uninstall this junk if it's on your device or you might also end up with hours of work undoing it. Even better when I went to reinstall the missing apps, they are installed but I can't see them or use them. They just are using memory.

States that it is backing up my SMS and MMS messages.. Do not trust it!.. SMS messages work fine but there are no MMS messages in the backup! (All my messages only total 2mb?).. Google posted back about my original review, with some generic problems link that was completely useless.. it thinks it is backing up fine, but MMS messages aren't being backed up (if you search it it seems to be a common issue)! I am now using SMS backup and restore instead, which is slow, but at least it works.

When it says apps are backed up, that only means that it remembers which apps are installed. App data (you know, the important part) isn't backed up. Edit: Apparently the data part is opt-in on the developer's side, and there's no option to override it (or even an easy way to see which apps don't get backed up).

I feel very ripped off as usual. These benefits only work when once and a while like the "photo editing options that disappear and reappear whenever they want. Of course Benefits history hasn't worked once in 2 phones so alas the lack of documentation sides with me. However I still feel like not only did I pay for upgrades that do nothing, Or only works every now and again. Google fi ripped me off for 10, but Google One ripped me off for a hundred. Glad they always reassure us they don't

I am disappointed that the AI that runs this thinks it knows more than graphic designers that use it. The "perks" of the specialty editing tools appear only rarely. An example is the Spot Color tool, where a hue can be enhanced, and the rest of the photo can be faded and desaturated. Super irritating to have to go to my PC and open InDesign or Photoshop to do this, when I need to be able to churn out and share a mockup via Photos ASAP while still at an event in the field.

I bought a phone so I can have a better camera, but when I open it up, it is full of premium options that I have to pay to use. Worse yet, I can't install a camera app to replace it that will edit those pictures because when you open up the pictures, it defaults back to the original camera. I bought a phone with your software installed on it, don't tie up my camera with bloated options that I have to pay a monthly fee to use. If you want to upsell me, give me an option for an outright purchase.

New Samsung tablet. Expected Samsung Switch to move everything. Oh sorry! No app data except for Samsung apps. Backup to Google on old device - check. Install Google1 and look for restore button on new device. Wait...no simple live data restore?? I have to factory reset again and lose all my setup progress? Google - the UX geniuses that can't properly implement the most basic aspect of device migration on Android. Shiny, out-of-box dumpster fire UX.

The app has issue. I took the subscription to Google one and have a space of 100 GB. It says I can edit photos with additional features. However when I start editing it says I need to upgrade and take paid subscription. In Family, I have added my family members but they haven't received connect link. This is frustrating.

No way to restore a backup I can clearly see exists. Had to factory reset phone so made a point to back it up. Did the reset, can clearly see the backups exists in Drive and One, but there is no option to restore. Called support and they were zero help, and said backups can take 48 hours to appear (and I don't think support had a clue, obviously.)

It's a very good app and i love that I can purchase more space for such a low price, but it's complicated to understand how to do basic functions at times. Which is why I only have 4 stars, because basic should be more self able than this app allows at times.

Let me start with this. DISAPPOINTED.WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. 0 HELP FROM THEIR SIDE. I have been trying for almost 3hours to renew my Google One subscription but still not able to. I tried doing it from Google play, just the way I did last time. And this error keeps coming "this transaction can only be done from India". I even tried contacting the help support but they haven't displayed any contact info or not even their mail id. And HOW XAN SOMEONE CONTACT YLUR SUPOORT WITHOUT SUBSCRIPTION??????

Hi, i have made two payments for Google one but it's not upgraded yet. My account has been debited and yet not able to see the upgrade. Kindly help!! I tried using that link, but no concrete option to contact customer care or receive a call back. I have however, left a feedback through drive if that will be heard. Hi waiting for a refund on my payment. Please make haste on this. Expecting better experience with Google

Worst service ever. Backed up my phone, resetted it, only to find out that my backup that I made an hour ago vanished from my account. Thanks for nothing I guess. Edit: I did checked the support page, nothing helped. But i don't think anything could help at this point, since there are zero bytes of backup data left on my account.

I tried to purchase 100 GB monthly plan and money debited from my credit card, but my plan is not updated in Google One. It's still showing 15 GB. Kindly help. Edit: Yes I can see the storage, but its still showing 15 GB. I cancelled my subscription due to some reason yesterday, but tried purchasing it once again today. Money deducted but plan not updated. Edit: Can't reach out for that I got to upgrade. Provide me mail id to contact for this issue.

Restore button doesn't show up. App is confusing and it should be straight forward. Edited: yes, I've tried the steps you mention and no button to restore it's available. When I activate backup the device, it creates a new backup file instead of allowing a user to select a file to import

I wanted to make sure my backups are working as all it ever shows is 'can't load backup info. Thought it might be something to do with my plan so 'view plans'. This gets 'could not load data' Tried a manual backup, none the wiser as to whether it succeeded as it gave no indication other than spend about ten minutes with the sliding line spinner then back to main screen including 'can't show info' for backup I really really hope I never have to restore as I have no faith in this app

Shocking CX. Simple user journey to add a new payment card when your current card expires. Probably one of the most common actions a customer might NEED/MUST be able to do. Instead shows an error and redirects to a white screen then the email address on this app for support is no longer monitored.... I'm using a Google Pixel 6 XL phone with a Google app and it doesn't work. Shocker.

I have had very little instruction or help learning how to use the internet or this smart phone. Had a bad experience with the assistant & got locked out of this phone for a while. Phone had big problems after that, haven't used assists. Since that time . That was about 4 or 5 months ago. So I haven't been able to get any apps to function very well , or at all !!

I like hdrive very much and the cost of extra storage is very reasonable but unless you upgrade to a top tear the added benefits are pretty much non existent,received one in several years.hotels on offer are for a tiny minority and that's your lot.did receive one other offer but the system wouldn't let me claim it, contacted support and got nowhere, So, of your happy with the cost of the extra storage that is great but don't expect anything from the offers unless you pay hight level upgrade

Buy it for the storage not for the service. They have deleted two of my critical reviews. I guess that's what happens when you own the application and the application store. No one has ever been able to solve my problems at Google One. They always claim it is a different department and then transfer you to the wrong department and nothing ever gets fixed. I have brought numerous problems and numerous significant bugs none of which have ever been addressed. They blame someone else. SHAMEFUL LIES

Definitely spamware. The app's screens get obliterated with an "Upgrade" popup. Have to scroll around to see what is underneath in the app. No way to get rid of the nuisance other than paying Google for more quota that I don't need. Well, the obvious solution is to uninstall the spamware which I did. Update 3/12/2022 (month later): Trialed it again. Still spamware. No way to get rid of the obliterating "Upgrade" overlay. The app offers no more features (other than adding MMS, but then I don't backup my text messages, anyway) than the embedded Backup service included in Android (which fails a third of the time with "Incomplete backup", and since the app uses this service then it will be just as unreliable, so I have to do a manual backup which always works).

I got a Chromebook and I used the same gmail account for both my Android phone and my Chromebook. And this app, is one of the best apps I've used ever. Google Photos, Google 1, and Google Messages and YouTube music. Because I could use all of that on both devices And I just love how they pull the money out of my bank account so I don't have to ever worry about not having the Google one subscription or the YouTube music subscription. So I never run out of space and always have my music.

I've been a member since noticing this app and installed and signed up for a paid cloud plan. I chose to pay annually. I've only called a few times pre-Covid and always helpful and felt they took their time to understand my issue and always polite and patient with me. They'd assist me if it was something they handled or would direct me in the right direction for the help I needed. I still would like to add the contents from a different cloud service and cancel that one now. I have 5 or 6 =$$$$

I have a paid subscription & it keeps telling to buy more storage coz I'mout of storade. My phone stopped backing up everything yet Google One shows under my subscriptions as paid. Tried to chat with Googoe One but it says I have to have a subscription to use the chat which I have. Can someone fix this issue plzzzz!!!!

Despite (or perhaps because of) being a programmer, I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to cloud services. This is especially true with regards to Google which has a, shall we say *storied* history of killing well-regarded products off with little to no notice. That said, Google One provides a good value/cost ratio for storage, while integrating with services the average consumer already uses constantly. Unless you have the time and money to set up your own storage solution, this is fine.
