Google Spotlight Stories

The stories may be really good, but the app is not standalone at all, requires a vr headset and does not have landscape mode to cast on a tv screen or an option to reset gyro position so that we can experience these stories without a vr headset. If you want to watch on the phone screen you will have to hold your phone at eye leve which is very inconvenient. Please let it be standalone and not very vr headset dependant, these stories deserve more views.

This app is absolutely fantastic, the stories on it make you laugh and they make you cry. They're not that long but the content that is in the stories is absolutely mind boggling and should get more recognition for it's amazing work. The download time can be a little slow, but I haven't experienced it as bad as most other reviewers have, where they say it take them hours or two days to download one, which could be a fault of their own phone. But either way these stories should have more recognition for the great quality they are, they're amazing, and is definitely worth downloading.

it's best app for children who love visual stories.First i thought it will be some audio which will narrate the stories but when i tried one of the story. it was a flim which is playing and you will get a VR experience with out VR headset. you can just move your mobile in any direction upwards, downwards, rightward, leftward. frame will also move. you will be amazed after using this app. THIS APP LEFT ME SPEECHLESS. AFTER WATCHING ONE OF THE STORY. I WAS LIKE. WOW. WHAT AN AMAZING APP

Beautiful. I want more of these. They are enlightening, entertaining, though provoking, and sometimes just plain cute. None take too much time, and can be a nice respite wherever or whenever you might fimd yourself.

It's really good but when I play a story, the textures keep glitching out. When I downloaded a story, it just stays the same. I don't even know WHAT is going on. Please fix this

I like the app, just in VR it needs to load every few seconds. If you could improve the running speed, that would make it better. Otherwise, it is great.

I love the app but there's no option to rewind or forward the stories. I mistakenly closed a story while I was 15 minutes in it and now i have to re-watch it all over again.

Undermarketed platform with greater potential! After I read online that Google was shutting this down, I was astounded because I felt this should be integrates into schools where kids would love learning to read in an interactive way. I just discovered this in 2021 and had never heard of it till now and I feel it should be revived in some way into VR headset platforms like Magic Leap or AR glasses in the works. Has huge potential even for monetization! Don't shut this down Google!

Can't get through a whole story without it jumping back to the start, and with no obvious way of skipping through a story to rejoin where I had it. Pretty frustrating.

The VR experience is awesome but downloading the stories takes forever. Has to be a bug. Son of jaguar was downloading for 4 hours and still didn't finish. Please fix this, as my kids love the stories.

My lil brother loved it. I loved it ❤. Truly amazing concept. Every thing is visual. Stories are fun to watch. Need more of them soon.

I downloaded and then attempted to watch 1 video and it tried to load on YouTube instead of the app. It nearly broke my Ipad. It could not decide between the app and YouTube and eventually the screen went black with only 1/4 of the task bar visible. I went to the lock screen and put in my password only for it to freeze on the lockscreen. I then went to the lockscreen again, put in the password and pressed close on the taskbar. I tried it again and it started glitching again. I do not recommend.

unusable as has no frickin (you know what i mean) menu! no explorer for sownloaded content nothing. Enjoy this half baked turd of an app with jittery movements and up to 6 shows to select while in daydream mode and you will have the bonus of a soar neck. f u google right back at you!

I downloaded this app for The Simpsons and was not disappointed. But could you PLEASE make one where you can go around Springfield, and see all the iconic buildings and characters walking by? If you could do that then that would be grate and a 5 Start Rating!!!

it is ok. i dont have vr and will never experience using vr because i only have 1 working eye. but i feel happy because other people can enjoy this and rate 5 stars.

This virtual reality story app is too good to use even without VR headset but you have to move your device all around to watch these stories without VR headset. You can download stories for offline viewing and fall in a virtual world where you can see a story as if you are the main protagonist of the story.

Really good yrr. This is the next stage of story telling and very interesting also. This is innovative way to express the stories. Means u r watching story in 360° view, what an idea!. Good Work.

Love the app, but it would be nice if there was an option for pitching stories/ideas, which can be reviewed and if good enough can be up for production by interested parties.

Great!!!!!!! The stories are really interesting to watch in VR. The best thing is that we can really interact with the story. Hope there will be more stories in the future.

Stumbled upon this gem. I'm so glad I downloaded it. I see this app doesn't have any updates since 2018. Hopefully google gets onto this and brings in more stories. The concept is amazing! Thanks Google!

Not able to view the stories. After tapping play, white background appears and nothing happens. Downloaded a story and still the same

Love this. Google cant take all the credit for this app though . It was Motorola who actually developed this way back the Moto X 2014 era ... So like 8 years ago. But, when google swallowed up Motorola, bought them up chewed and spit them out patentless, this was then rebranded as Google Spotlight Stories. It was originally Moto Spotlight Stories.

Great idea, great content, bad UI, too little content. Looking forward to improvements.

This is the best app I've ever used! Honestly! It's creative and innovative and doesn't hang it trouble and it's so beautiful! A true work of art , I'm overwhelmed!! 🙆

What kind of magical technology is this? This is the future of storytelling. The days of watching 3d videos has come. Never saw anything like this before. Totally awesome app from google. Thankyou very much

3 times i downloaded the story and after 90% all 3 times it stopped. Plus it loads very very slow and keep pausing.

I love this! I just stumbled acrossed this when looking for another google app. This needs to be better advertised, please add more to this. My kids love it, I love it 👍👍

I remember when spotlight stories was a new concept, my mom had Windy Day on her first gen Moto X. So nice to find out it still exists. Major nostalgia trip watching Windy Day and Buggy Night on my OnePlus 8 Pro years later.

Dude why does this keep trying to install itself on my phone? I have not intentionally installed it once but it keeps coming back and I keep hitting cancel. It's not even a good app.
