Google Tasks: Any Task, Any Goal. Get Things Done

This does the basics of what I expect from a task management app and does it well. A very good way to replace puting post-its on a boatd. Lacks a few functionalities to be a good app to handle a large number of tasks or to help organize projects. I notably would like the ability to create projects containing tasks in multiple lists and perhaps some tags and filter options.

Great for syncing up chores across devices. Would love a dark theme for widgets and ability to switch between accounts on the widget dropdown (as opposed to only being able to switch between lists on a specific, pre selected account on a per widget basis). Would also like to have the option of completed tasks instantly respawning for their next recurrence instead of having to wait, this would allow marking the next occurrence as complete also. Stopping tasks moving 2 a completed list could be gd

This is a good app to create to-do lists linked this the calendar which is really nice. The only things I have to complain about is the organisation of the subtasks. They act like normal tasks in the app and in the calendar which is annoying (making things unreadable) and when you mark as done all the subtasks, the major one stay mark as undone (a bit of a problem for me).

Only two things I wish you would add: 1.) Tabs across the top for all the lists. 2.) Have an assortment of soft, modern colors to choose from for each list. This is the most useful, complete to-do, shopping, project app of all. I love it so much. Thank you Google for doing this for us, for me. And you don't charge a penny for it, amazing! I keep my whole life on here and love that it integrates w Calendar. Thanks again Google, I love you!

It's good when it comes to repeat reminders but I wish it was easier to use. Lg had its own tasks app that was easy to use but it was more like a notepad than a reminder however that also made it easy to just go and edit things in or out. I don't like how you can't edit from the widget. You have to click on the widget which takes you inside the app and then you can edit.

Very useful but sometimes I can't seem to make the best use of it. Part of it may be just my not getting the hang of it, but part of it is clearly that I can't add a subtask later, once I have created it under certain circumstances, such as a date. It seems like I have to choose between a date, whether or not it repeats, whether to add details, or whether there are subtasks; & I can't have all of the above or add any of those later. (Like when the task gets more complicated)

Fantastic app! I use this to remind me of things in my personal life and for work - it slots neatly in to Google calendar so you can easily add quick and easy reminders any time. You can even categorise your reminders and add subtasks 🙌 The only thing I'd like to see as an improvement here would be the option to make the tasks private (in the same way that you can make meetings/events private in Google calendar). This would really expand it's application on the work side 👍

This synchronizes with Google Tasks better than third party apps and does not seem to mess up the due dates when traveling to different time zones. It lacks a combined view of all task lists. If you use several task lists for different categories, like I do, you have to swap list views to see them all. Also, the widget does not seem to let me sort tasks by date, so it is not good for anything. Google Tasks, not just the app, lacks the ability to batch import tasks from a csv.

It would not take much to turn this into a powerful project management tool. What it is mostly missing is the ability to add links, be they urls, Gmail messages, Documents, Keep notes, Drive files, etc. All the elements are there, just bring them all together. Oh, and it is rather annoying that I cannot have a checklist or subtasks for a repeating task. It would be nice to have a button to collapse/expand subtasks when viewing a list of tasks, both per tasks and for all tasks. Getting there.

Almost perfect. It's good that both tasks and subtasks include details and due dates, and that due dates are entirely optional. Drag and drop arrangement is another plus, I get to order tasks as it suits me. Integration with Calendar makes life easier. I agree that it would be good if tasks were collapsible. I'd also like to re-order the lists themselves with the same options. Overall, very useful, I don't use paper (or multiple apps) AT ALL now that I have this app.

For me, there should be a way to sort completed tasks alphabetically this is particularly important for repetitive tasks like groceries where you buy the same things over and over again. I like to go to the completed tasks and just tap on the grocery items that I need now. But it's too difficult to find what I'm looking for in my lengthy unsorted list. If the list were sorted alphabetically I would be able to find items quickly.

I love the app! It's super handy that my tasks are being displayed in my calendar.🙏 I would like to set a time for a task, tho. Some tasks take longer than 30 minutes... And maybe show my tasks in 'At a Glance' too? Furthermore, I think the app shows great potential. Design is sleek and the use of emoji's makes it fun. Yet, there's more functionality in other task apps. I would like to see Google to give this app some more love.

I can't setup a daily/weekly task with subtasks. I want to create daily and weekly routine but it takes away the repeat option when there's a subtask. I want to create a repeatable task with subtasks that only occurs on weekdays, but it can't do that. If I could make a task list repeatable on select days, that would be great.

I rated this a five star back in 2020 but I'm revising it down to a three now :-(. I've had several times over the years where one of my Task lists gets deleted and it does not show up in completed tasks. This morning my most important to do list was just mysteriously deleted and it's not showing up in completed or anywhere. I really don't understand how this can happen. But that was my life's running to do list and it's gone :-( not very happy about that! That shouldn't be able to happen.

Not to bad😉... Not too much not too little just the right amount except for maybe the ability to migrate between lists. Putting it in the wrong list does happen so it'd be nice just to be able to drag n drop. The minimalist makes it great to make it really count without cluttering up your tasks. Face it we've cluttered up every other part of our electronic life!

Tasks is great for making lists of things that need to be done for personal goals. I've even made a list for each day of the week. It's easy to move a task to a different list. I'd like it to somehow have an Accomplished section that automatically adds the things you've checked off so as to be able to look back on that.

The upgrade is exceptional. Before I only used the app to remind of emails I needed to read. And with the subtasks, each with it's out deadlines and details. And catagories. Wow, colour me impressed. It brings the best of project management apps in a easy, faster and clearer interface. I think this is the first proper review I have ever given and I am so glad I wanted for something that really matters so much to personal and work life.

I have used Tasks for years and I LOVE IT! And until recently would give it 5-starts! However, I have recently discovered that I can no longer manage my lists from the website! Only on the phone app! Which is NOT beneficial when I have a lot to update and edit! The do show up on my calendar, which I can view both on my phone and on my laptop. What the heck happened?

Very minimal and stripped of features compared to other task organizer apps. Needed features include: swiping to delete or sort tasks, color-coded tasks and lists, Google Assistant integration. I hope they continue to work on this project because the small file size and low resource usage is phenomenal.

I love the app! It's very convenient to keep multiple lists of all kinds: grocery, to do, gifts, etc. I can set reminders if desired for tasks. The app updates almost instantaneously on both my phone and computer, and because it functions on multiple platforms it is easy to transfer a link sent to my phone over to my computer.

I'm sure used to have an "add multiple tasks" option to save time, but missing in this version. Awkward switching between lists and generally slow and awkward to use. Having got a task list, you can't print, share or export them.

It still lacks features to compete against other apps on the market. Good idea with the Integration with the Calendar but not enough to be fully operational. Snooze options are poorly designed. One thing that drives me crazy and I still don't get it: if you set the recurring time for a task, you're no longer able to add sub tasks. And if you add sub tasks, you can't add a recurring date. Last but not least, how come the app still doesn't have natural language recognition for dates and time?

For the most part I like it, pretty straightforward and easy to use.. definitely missing a few features. For one, there should be a way to consolidate all lists onto one central list and/or dump it to a spreadsheet Google sheet, etc.. also a full screen version would be pretty key, I use a third party app so I can use it in full screen mode.

I would LOVE if we were still able to sort our list in our order while still being in sort by date mode. Especially when I have a lot of tasks in the future. For example To - Do List by Splend Apps. It allows to organize tasks while still being in date. THERE SHOULD REALLY BE A TRASH BUTTON THE UNDO BUTTON IS TOO QUICK. You should really add a trash button, I don't see the problem in adding one. It made me lose a task and now I can't remember what it is.

I am a "Google" person so I love being able to have all my stuff in one place connected. However, tasks could have some improvements before it's as good or better than other task apps I've used. I wish you could colour code tasks, and change the colour in your calendar rather than all tasks being the same. I also wish you could still add subtasks to tasks that repeat and have a set time. Otherwise, love it!

I wish I'd known about this app sooner. It's simple to use and allows me to quickly make tasks & check them off. My only issue with it is that there's no desktop app for my Mac, which means I can't sync across all my devices. Other than that, it's a great app. Definitely recommend to my ADHD friends or those who just have memory problems like myself. Highly recommend 👍😎
