!!!BEWARE!!! When I click on pictures older than 2 days I just get a black screen. This app automatically saves all of the pictures to my gallery and Google photos. When you have 7 cameras , that's a lot of pictures. My Spypoint app does not do that. When I open up a camera's gallery and start scrolling, it automatically scrolls to the bottom. When I scroll back up, out automatically scrolls back to the bottom. I have to do this a few more times before it stays still and I can open up a picture.
This is my third review in a coyote of weeks. It started out as 1 star when I guess the app failed to install correctly, or they had a bad release posted. After a reinstall, advised by their support, it started working but I was not using the app correctly. Now that I've figured it out, I am bumping it to 5 stars. I see a lot of frustration here. Maybe they are suffering my experience. As of now, it is doing all that I would expect the app to do. I did set up my camera through the Windows.
Whomever decided to make an "Update" on this camera just before or during the beginning of hunting season ROYALLY screwed up. Now the app won't connect, won't send up dated connection status, won't send photos ( if the camera is even taking them) and when I go to the Mobile settings sheet it comes up for 3 seconds and blanks out! I have no earthly idea why they couldn't just leave a good thing alone while it worked! Hope this makes it all the way to the top of Spartans chain of command!
This App is poorly thought through. The instructions presume knowledge. Once you get connected, the thumbnails of images on the device cannot be expanded. If you download them to Local, they then lose their image number so you can't immediately tell which is which. Images seem to open in your phone's Photos App but do not let you sequence through the downloads, requiring you to return to this App for the next photo. Generally a painful experience.
This app could be so much better. It's supposed to send photos automatically in real time. Sometimes it doesn't. I can get 3 photos at once or 25 at once - meaning my phone will BING 25 times (and vibrate 50 times), so annoying and unnecessary. Photos are mixed into my phones camera roll, meaning I have to scroll through hundreds of photos from my spartan cams to find my own photos. App is ruined by not having custom alert tones, a bing wont wake me in the middle of the night. Do better.
It is "ok" It downloads to a folder on the device. I don't want that. It also sometimes doesn't show any photos until the aps open for a few mins, then it starts downloading them, it's not a setting, does it on wifi or lte I find myself using the portal more than the app. And that's not so great.
What Did You Guys Do??? I'm over this app! I've been using the camera and app for several years. Now the app sends pictures but they won't load, videos take FOREVER to load. Honestly, if I can't see the pictures or videos what exactly am I payinf for?
BUGS: having issues with image display. on my S10+ many thumb-nails when selected display black, not the image. also the images appear to automatically be stored on my device, but I'm not asking to save them. these are two serious issues that need to be fixed....
Hey guys found a fix for app issues. I was having same issues as everyone here is saying Go into your phone settings (not the app) and to apps and find the Spartan app, once you click on the Spartan app you'll see storage, click on storage and there's a place to clear the cache and data/storage. Clear both of those and then uninstall and reinstall the app. Before the app opens for the first time clear the cache and data/storage again. Then open the app and log in.
This app is horrible, not at all user friendly! As of right now I have a cellular camera 300 miles away that can't be accessed from my cell phone. It's worked up until last Saturday till 2pm then gave up! I get an alert on my cell phone says you have 24 pics, click on the Spartan app thumbnail and it's the same pics from last week. Try to delete the pics it says delete error. Log into the website vialaptop and I can see pics change camera settings etc... $323 black eye as far as I'm concerned!
The app is complete garbage. Keeps crashing even after going through all their troubleshooting. The customer service is just as bad. Cant get through to any human, and what makes it worse is before it started crashing it worked and i am paying for the service. So since i cant log on or talk to anyone they will keep taking money out of my account. There are other game cameras with the same plans. Do yourself a favor and DONT BUY SPARTAN!
Basic functionality, if it's working. It allows to download pictures via a wifi hotspot opened by the device itself. The wifi is switched on via bluetooth. But this is broken now as it ceased to connect via bluetooth. Made me sending back the hardware as well.
Was great until last update. Doesn't auto download to my phone anymore. I use them for security. Now I'm refreshing it all day to keep pics updated. Right now when I tap on camera I want to view it slowly brings up thumbnail screen, then I tap picture and it returns to camera screen. Continues to do this so can't view pic of the truck that was at my gate an hour ago. Was just getting ready to order a go live model. No way until this app is figured out.
Was a great app until recently it seems to freeze up alot. Right know I can't even open a individual picture. As soon as I click on 1 it takes me back to the very beginning of the roll. Not sure what's going on!
Seems to work ok but you can't navigate very well through your photos. You try to drag to look at your next row of photos and it shoots you to the beginning of the photo roll. Very irritating. Otherwise its ok
Connectivity issues galore since the update in mid-May. Repeated "program out of order" messages. Sort of defeats the purpose of a cellular camera if it tells you there are new pictures but you can't view them.
I've had several issues, not getting pics etc. Cameras messing up as well as this app. I've emailed several times and sent in a camera. After they inspected my camera they said nothing was wrong with it but never sent it back and haven't responded to any of my emails. Will be switching to new cameras soon
Very disappointed app is slow and freezes. Also once in a while i get a double picture in the picture with line through it. For the money spent very disappointed with this product. Ok so not any better after the reach out from Spartan cam. I sent them a message back include screenshots and have not heard a word. I will be moving to a different cam set up next you Spartan you are a joke. So disappointed in you survive waste of money.
Can't view older pics nothing but a black screen
Videos take forever to load before they can be viewed. There should be different alerts for different cameras.
Still needs a lot of ui improvement. When scrolling thru pictures I shouldn't have to wait for thumbnails to generate. They should generate upon app deployment. The app is really frustrating for the money I pay. It's a lot of little things
Absolute garbage app. If I could give it zero stars I would... Has never worked properly, and now that I got a new phone I can't even get it to stay open without crashing after 30 seconds... I have 3 Spartan cameras and don't know what to use them for other than paperweights
UPDATE as of 8/23/21. The update I installed today has issues with updating recent pics taken. Does not update new pics taken. UPDATE: I contacted Spartan CS a week ago and have been working with Cris...he worked with me extensively for several days with their software team and found the fix. Be on the lookout for an update with a global fix. Thank you Spartan Team for great customer service. The may update is horrible. Previous version was great. I am paying a premium. Please fix it soon.
This update is horrible. Im unable to get anything to work. I've uninstalled reinstalled I've cleared the cache nothing is working properly. Cannot receive photos on both my trailcams. Ive spent hours trying. Extremely frustating.
This app is so frustrating! When they update the app it loses the information on my camera and I have to reinput it. I love the idea, but have too many issues. Their customer service isn't friendly either.
ive read one comment that has same problem as me. i have a s10e that automatically saves photos to my storage and it saves all of them. ive asked once and you guys said turn off auto Download but that didnt work. fix this bug please its really annoying.
The app keeps populating an error that my username and password are incorrect. However, the website allows me to log in fine. I've even changed the password and tried again and the app will not let me log in.
Whatever "upgrade" yall just did, ruined this app. I've been using this app for like 5 years with no issues until now. Updated the app and now my pictures take forever to load if at all. It's telling me videos are unavailable after they come in, not loading pics and instead of one pop with a picture count, each camera sends me picture counts. Yall ruined this app. If something isn't broke, DONT FIX IT.
