GPS over BT

I am running a Note 8, and it obliterated my gesture control. It is not that important, but it is somehow doing something to navigation. Still trying out various things, but it seems like it will be ok, gotta go 3 stars for now re: the problem with the native controls I had set.. Will revise if appropriate

The app has one serious flaw. It doesnt run in background. Imediatly after i switch to onther application or close the screen, the app looses gps. I assured that it has rights to run in background and no battery optimisation is allowed to touch the app. Android 9. I am giving 4 star for encouragement and give 5 when fixed.

Excellent application. It provides a network service at port 7000 under TCP protocol, and no only under bluethooth. Chek the IP address of your smartphone under Config/About phone/Status/Ip address. Using your PC (Linux or Windows) under console, command: telnet IP-SmartPhone 7000 . Now you see the GPS NMEA data from network. I would suggest some fixes: a) Menu is not working under Android 7. b) Menu option to close the application.

Screwed with my launcher, making me pick a default launcher every time I pressed the home button. I don't even want to know why.

The app has a bug that causes the default launcher to reset every time- can't set the default launcher to be uaed.

Working very well afaik on ICS. I've come here especially to sing my praises because this app is o e of those rare apps that seem to be programmed efficiently with thoughtfulness- disables gps and but after use, light CPU use and yet a very nice azimuth display. Top marks sir! The simplicity is its strength

I needed to connect an external GPS to my Windows 8.1 laptop but didn't have the necessary hardware to connect. A quick search revealed this and some other apps. Installed on my Moto G, paired with Windows laptop OK. Assigned a bluetooth COM port on the laptop and set the speed to 4800. It just works!

So far this is promising. While not as "easy" to setup on some BT software. I did manage to get this working and had my Grlevel 3 weather radar software find the GPS data! (Have to use a lower com port for serial) Also on my WinXP internal BT on my laptop, I installed Toshiba Stack v9.xx so it gave me all the serial and misc abilities to setup for a bluetooth device. Still the app has issues some.. I have to reinstall the serial port every time I want to connect. However for a start. This app did what I need on my Galaxy S3. Oh, if you have issues getting GPS data on your PC after you connect. Make sure your screen is ON. Seems when its off or standby.. even tho its connected. Oddly its not sending the data.

Very usefull application that allows me to share the GPS information from my Android phone to my old blackberry. It worked immediately on my Lenovo A850 running Android 4.2.2, I just had to delete the previous definition of my Android phone on the blackberry and rediscover/re-pair the phones together.

We have an app that uses external GPS devices, and all of my devices were at a conference. I couldn't fix any bugs without them. I downloaded this app and turned my phone into an external GPS for my android tablet. Perfect! I have a Samsung S5 running the app and a Samsung Plus 7.0 connected to my phone. Thanks for saving me from a week of no bug fixes!

Tested with Waze & Co-pilot. Both show 5 mph faster than actual. Both apps show correct speed when used with a hardware GPS Bluetooth Mouse. Same result with imperial or metric units selected. Nexus 6 running 5.1.1 Fix and its a 5 star app.

Galaxy S6. This app messes with your launcher. I constantly was being asked what TouchWiz launcher I wanted to use. Drove me crazy. I finally figured out it was due to this app. Uninstalled the app and constant TouchWiz questions went away.

Will connect to computer over Bluetooth and use phone as NMEA GPS over a virtual COM port. All the other apps that do this are broken.

Only one issue getting it working with GPSGATE client for windows and that is it is not recognized as a bluetooth GPS per say but it is available as a standard com port connection over bluetooth. After connecting to com9 in gpsgate I got it working. I hope to see this service searchable as a bluetooth gps when adding input under gpsgate for windows.

The app did not fully function on my Note 4. I was able to get it to work with my laptop, although there was only one screen available. It also screwed up my Home button.

Please fix. Worked great with S3, broke S3 bought Note 4, 5.01 now phone thinks GPS over BT is a home button app and interferes with the home button app selection so one is constantly presented with the home app choice. Please fix this super easy app to use phone as GPS with laptop.

Wouldn't work with my devices. Also, clears default home screen after viewing your recently opened apps. Has potential though...

After installing this app I can no longer a sign my Home key to anything on my Note 4. After uninstalling I than can a sign it to something. Another than love this app. Please fix:(

This does not pair with iPad mini and Garmin blue charts. Would love it to work just bought a dedicated external gps instead. Works fine with macbook pro.

Breaks Home launcher on Galaxy S5 and S6. It inserts itself as a launcher in Settings/Applications/Default Apps/Home and causes home button to lose default continuously.

This app is very likely bugging out my touchwiz home app. Going to try to uninstall and see if that fixes the issue. Yep that solved the issue, after uninstalling touchwiz home works just as it should.

Does not work well with Galaxy S5. For some reason causes home screen to act up. Also having trouble connecting to Google Earth in windows 8.1 pro. Trying to use with Earth Tracker.

Open up app and just sit there. How to connect Ihave no clue. No instrution, not tuitive at all. Can't do nufin.

I had some challenges to get WIn7 com port to work. After the intalling MyPhoneExpolrer the com started to work. As there is compass, HDG and/or HDM would be nice to have via NMEA also.

I love it but the problem is that it takes long time to load the lat and long of a place. That alone can make you wanna delete the app.

greatest gps tether app out there. have tried others and they all failed this ones great. one question though and going to test later, is it possible to use this and also tether the phone to my bluetooth headset, while the bluetooth is tethered for gps usage?

Surprised that it works so well on my Galaxy S3 Neo , compatible with gpsd on linux if it is started on -b read only mode , what more can you ask :)

But conflicts with Nova launcher (resets default home app setting).

Extremely useful and flawless. Doddle to set up. Have the freeware app VisualGPS reading the position on my PC with no problems. 6 star application thanks

Somehow it inserts itself as an option for the home launcher. IE every time you hit the home key you have to select Easywiz. When you don't have the app installed this problem goes away.
