I tested this tonight against my Garmin. Very accurate results. One of the best apps I've tried for kayaking or sailing. Haven't tried it on the bike yet. One nice feature is the 5 Second pause. With my Garmin I have to manually stop the program. This automatically does it.
Good potential but when was walking on the flat and downhill it paused and did not resume for several minutes. Am resetting pause time. May be less sensitive.
1st run 2.7 Miles, App said I ran 1.7Km People run in all sorts of places. Signal often comes and goes. In my area the GPS always shows exactly where I am so.... Why can't these app designers use pure GPS when necessary, and lock in the data once a signal returns? Is that too much to ask? App is completely useless to me. No point in going for a 2.7mile run and being told you ran about half the distance. Apps purpose is completely lost. Caynax reply misses the point completely!
(Old) not updated app is useful but New updated is not showing correct kms plz be needful . do correct changes in updated app,not showing correct kms
The blue background with white letters is hard to read normally and impossible to read when I'm on a ride and want to glance down to check one of the metrics (indicators). Also the font size for the metrics is too small. Change all blue background to white or light gray and all text to black, in a larger and bolder font. Then this app will be pretty near perfect.
Nice, clean app. Works well and gives you all the usual stats such as pace and split times. Would be great if the map had a heat overlay of speed or pace so you can know which areas you were faster or slower at. Update: I'm glad I'm not the only that the app has stopped working for. Pixel 4a. Worked fine two weeks ago. The it's something with Google, not the app, it shouldn't rated low because of that.
Just installed this app and tried it on a 9.55 mile walk today. All seems fine so far, except unable to export it as a GPX file. Instead of seeing a choice as to how/where to send the file (which I'd expect to see after pressing the Export button), nothing at all seems to happen. If the file has been exported from my phone, then I have no idea where to. [Edit] Have since discovered how to export GPX files, so all is well and I consider this to be the best tracker I've ever had on my phone!
GPS Used to work in 2019 with my power settings, now in 2020 the GPS keeps shutting itself off even though it has the same permissions as last year when it worked flawlessly... Wut??? I've lost four sessions in two days now and I still can't get adjustments to work. Sorry, I'm not reconfiguring all my phone settings to suit one suddenly petulant app, it was great when it worked and now it doesn't. Thanks for the summer of 2019, time to move on. Best of luck.
Very nice Tracker. Wish I had found it before I did the Ultra Paddle. So nice to have auto-pause. With my previous tracker, I had to do printscreens & take photos to get time stamp of when I stopped paddling and when I started again. What a mission. With this tracker it senses when you stop and pauses... then when you start moving again, it resumes the activity. List of activities is so helpful. I paddle (kayaking), run & walk. Adverts are eye-catching without being intrusive. What a pleasure.
Six months of reliable use. I have used several apps like this and it is far and away the best. The interface works well, it faithfully records my entire run, it provides a lot of useful data, and it is easy to start and stop. I appreciate the countdown timer as it gives me a chance to secure my phone before I get going. I just purchased the home workout app and the HIIT app tonight because how much I like this app. So far they're looking real promising as well.
It's good but there's a difference between the distance tracked and the one shown on the statistics screen at the end. While using, it states that l walked about 500m and yet on statistics, it only shows about 290m or so.. Every time. I do circuits inside my house due to weather. If you can fix this then I'm willing to pay to remove ads.
Revision: this is a fine app. I'm using it only for cycling. It continues to function in the background. The default activity (sport) is easily changed. Four data parameters can be displayed face-up and easily changed. History can be saved in any of 3 formats. Either Google maps or open street maps may be used.
(edit: come on google, did you really need to throw away all my newlines?!!!) It's ok. Bought the ads-off and went for a run. The things I didn't like: - a short time after opening the app, an unclickable semi-transparent empty overlay popped over the app screen. Were it remains of a fullscreen ad? Was it some "rate us" nagging? No idea, but eventually it didn't open again. - the map sometimes can rotate freely (and sometimes doesn't) and that makes it fairly useless: there's no way of locking north AND no indication where the north is. - in history, you can see split times in km/h only. For the running, pace (min/km) would make much more sense, but there seems to be no way to toggle that. - turning on dark mode w/icon doesn't seem to get saved, on the next open the interface is light again, - errored on an attempt to import .tcx made by mapmyfitness. I would love "best km/mile/5km/10km time" in the stats.
For some reason the gps has become absolutely useless within the last few weeks. It used to work fine with only occasional fallouts, but now it has enormous difficulty even locating my position correctly and in the few instances where I get it to work, it loses the signal for half of the distance or more. I've changed nothing on my phone and have tried all the suggestions in settings. No app optimization etc is on. I came here in the hope that it was because I'd missed an update...
Probably the best app of her kind. Very comprehensive and ergonomic. Seems rather accurate too (but GPS is never perfect unfortunately). Obviously requires a lot of permissions for full reliability as the automatic built-in app optimizer of Android may arbitrarily turn off GPS or shut down the app. However the app will warn you whenever there is a risk of malfunction and guide you through the settings to have all the required permissions. Used for a dozen walks, no complaints so far
