I like this app for getting some idea of altitude. When you're looking at homes and trying to determine flooding potential. Sure, there's some variation in the altitude but at least you get some idea. Maidenhead coordinates are used by ham radio operators. Unfortunately, the Maidenhead coordinates are coming out backwards. Once you know that, you can work around it but prior versions didn't have that problem.

This used to be my goto app for any GPS issues. Now it gets stuck in an ad-cycle. Can't use it anymore. Only shows ads. What a total disaster! It gets stuck on the altitude screen, if try to go to the main screen it shows an ad, and after the ad finishes, the application terminates. If i open it again, i get to the altitude screen and ad again. No escape!

It works very well, a simple but thorough app. However, after an update sometime ago it began to show altitude incorrectly. The indicated altitude would increase as I descended off a mountain. I am unsure if this is due to the software or my still using an obsolete OS (4.1). Update 03/28/2020 It began to work correctly again, so I don't have any criticism at all now.

I like it, but there's just one little hang-up. When I look at the screen that shows GPS time and Local time I note that the seconds portion of both times match exactly! The GPS system has never adjusted their atomic clocks since day one. Whereas the rest of the world has. At this writing GPS time lags by about 18 seconds. This app doesn't seem to take that fact into account. Not a big deal unless using this app in conjunction with taking celestial shots.

The Layout of this App is absolutely wonderful. It's perfect for my Samsung S5e Tablet. I also like being able to customize various details and the colours. The ability to quickly turn to Night View is very practical when on route. What I don't like is the functionality of the compass. I've been trying to calibrate for well over an hour. The compass allways show 180° in the wrong direction. My other App the "GPS Status" from com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2 shows the compass correctly. CAN YOU HELP PLS.

Very useful app, but does not handle GPS date rollover correctly, which happened on 6th April 2019. Now date is always 1024 weeks in the past, and seems to take longer to sync, presumably because it is initially looking for the wrong satellites in its almanac. Update: The recent release has fixed the rollover issue and restored the app to its former excellence.

This used to be a 5 star app. I used it regularly on my motorbike as a secondary (though much more obvious) speedometer, and when flying as a back-up altimeter/compass; but at some point within the last week or two it has decided that my GPS is never on (it's always on), and the app can't be used unless I turn the GPS service on... I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, allowed all permissions, and nothing. I WAS going to get the paid version of this because I loved the app so much; but now I won't even have the "free" one on my phone anymore because it just doesn't work!

It’s a great app and I use it all the time on my motorcycle for speed, altitude, direction, etc. The only thing I believe it does incorrectly is subtract, rather than add, declination to Magnetic North when set to display True North. A very minor flaw as phones aren’t really ideal for orienteering.

UTC date and local date are both wrong by almost 20 years. Today (30 Nov 2019) it displays 15 Apr 00. Also seen - a bad local time (off by 1 hour), bad sunrise and sunset times, and a magnetic declination that is off by 3 degrees. These are probably all related to the date issue. Also, the compass heading display is wrong (by twice the declination) when North Reference mode is set to True. This is disappointing, I don't recall these problems prior to this version 1.5.9. EDIT 09 May 2020. All earlier problems fixed in v 1.6.2. Excellent once more, thanks!

Really great app, but I've noticed that the sunset function is a bit off most of the time. I've tried half a dozen sunset estimation programs and this is the only one that provides a different time. It's usually just over two minutes early.

The app itself is good for with nice features and I paid for the premium version. But can't get the extra features after opening it again. It's still locked and if I click upgrade it says I already own it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

Not an intuitive user interface, so it's hard to navigate around. The menu options shift places (no joke). Also, I couldn't find a way to see which satellite is from which system. Map isn't useful by any means.

I am using this app on my Android head unit and I like it a lot. However, I am a little surprised that the SNR of any satellite is always below 50, even though I have connected the head unit to the original car's GPS antenna.

Was very happy with the app until the most recent upgrade. Speed screen no longer displays in digital - analog dial only. And the world map does not expand to fill its frame when screen is rotated to landscape orientation. Both issues are annoying!

Best GPS app for GPS data, great compass .. very useful for testing your GPS to see if you are getting good signal from satellites.. as well as a standalone, offline navigation tool. The free version has all the features I require but I will buy the paid version soon to support the dev of this excellent app.

Used to work perfectly on all my devices. Now the Maidenhead locator reads backwards and character spacing is random and spreads beyond its window and accuracy is 20km out and compass doesn't work! Ok please fix and as this app was once fantastic but is now unusable... In response to your reply earlier the last letters on Maidenhead should be GM not GG. This is been tested with all satellites available and the entire Maidenhead format is in reverse. I emailed this issue the other day.

1️⃣ Purchased GPS Test with the loyalty discount, but should I have purchased GPS Test+ instead? What are the differences? 2️⃣ Compass still does NOT work! 3️⃣ How can I get rid of the Android navigation buttons at the bottom of my display to go true fullscreen? ✅ I've used this app for years, early on I HAD to use it to fix my GPS as another (service provider, must have) app would keep messing it up..

Good app, which shows you all satellites in view. You can easily check if your phone or tablet has properly working GPS/GLONAS/etc module. You can get your position in details , so you can always return to the spot.

Great GPS app! I do have two requests: 1)many gps apps display gps time, however when compared to UTC obtained from a dedicated GPS time server, the time on apps is about 1/2 sec slow. Is there any way to implement error correction in your app to make time displayed without any delay? If so this would make your app the most accurate of all. 2) A widget to place on Android home screen that will clear AGPS data. Thanks! 👍
