GPS Test Plus Navigation
The GPS Test Plus app for Android support GPS and GLONASS satellites.
The navigation functions can replace your 'Car Finder' app and also be used for Geocaching. It records the last twelve saved locations, so you can navigate a simple route as well.

GPS Test Plus has five screens full of information: -
1) GPS signal (SNR) bar chart, showing the signal strength for each satellite, as well as the accuracy and status of the GPS.
2) Satellite positions in the sky (skyview), shown on a rotating compass.
3) Your current location on the earth shown as text and on a world map. The current position of the sun and the day/night transition curve is also shown.
4) Your current speed, heading and altitude shown as text or as dials.
5) The current time read from the GPS and the local time in your current timezone, as well as the sunrise and sunset times at your location.
Useful for navigation or geocaching.
Supported Coordinate Grids:-OSGB, UTM, MGRS, USNG, CH1903, Maidenhead.
Supported Datums:-WGS84, NAD83, NAD27, ED50, AGD66, AGD84, SAD69
All the features of GPS Test, plus:-
* Speedometer, Altimeter and Compass dials.
* Seven segment display font.
* Dot matrix display font.
* HUD display mode for windscreens.(The display is mirrored so that it shows the right way round when the phone is placed on a car's dash and the reflection is viewed in the windscreen).
* Share location.
The app has several colour schemes, which could be used to match other instrumentation, used along side the app. It has a "night mode" colour scheme as well.
Works on Honeycomb O/S and large screen tablets.

The single best app I've ever used. I've been a user of GPStest (now GPStest+) since 2011 or so, through a handful of Android devices. I've used it when travelling, driving, flying, hiking, and more. It gives the raw data that I want, and the simple complete picture when I just want an easy answer. Seriously incredible. Worth every penny and then some. Current device: Pixel 2.
Shows your position, altitude and speed, and you can filter satellite networks (Galileo, beidou, glonass, etc). The only thing I suggest is to provide a better offline world map. Don't need to be a very detailed map, but something between 3 or 4 times bigger than the current would be very useful.
I've been using this app for nearly 10 years, and I'd never use anything else! It has every single thing I need, all wrapped up in one convenient package. All I can say is WOW! Finally, a developer that gets it right! One small suggestion, on something I'd love to see....when in the speedometer in full screen mode, would it be possible to have the date and time showing on screen and a button to enable the camera to do screenshots? This would be a huge plus! Thanks for a great app!
In the Speed/Heading/Altitude page can we please have an option to have a numeric only display? Or to display numeric speeds in the odometer similar to the heading and altitude dials. Useful if you are doing more than 600km/h or want a more precise readout. Thanks. This app is great I've had it for over ten years.
Paid version compass not navigating at all and or moves slowly and not to the desired direction. Just emailed support and their feedback will determine my ratings and decision whether to uninstall but I hope it won't come to this stage as this is the great outdoor/ off road app, but if the compass "needle " is defective it defeat the very same goal . However my other find my car app is working so it can't be my phone sensors. Samsung J4+ version 9
As I travel by motorcycle I use this app constantly to check speed, altitude, and heading. However, if you use any of the compasses that have the pointer, such as the Compass Classic and the pointer in the small box, they incorrectly point east as west, and west as east. I would give five stars if this was fixed.
UI is excellent. Functionality is excellent. Mapping accuracy needs improvement. My house is more than 200ft from where this mapping system places it. It also incorectly identifies the city where my house is. Its a keeper but it will need some accuracy improvements before it can replace my other prmary navigation software
Regularly use this app in the car as an alternative speedo but recently seem to have removed the large digital speed readout, need this back. edit - as posted by developer, found it, thanks for the reply. This is one of the few apps I have actually paid for the full version because it's so damn useful and clean.
Great app overall, but one of the best settings was recently removed. Please bring back the option to "use field colour for SNR bars and satellite symbols." The light theme looks beautiful when all elements are the same colour, but it is no longer possible to do this.
I'm a user of the paid app. Excellent GPS app. Love the functional simplicity of the UI. Would have given 5 stars if it only had a trip odometer. That's the only feature lacking that would perfect it - in my opinion.
Many features, I found the navigation feature very useful to to help me find my car when parking in a large unfamiliar area. I made an error in a lower review score when I accidentally did not install the PLUS version that I purchased.
Best GPS and compas app out there. I needed nothing more than free version provides, but decided to support Developer for such a great job... and get rid of ads on exit:D I use the share function very often - perhaps it would be good to use OSM map source to create a link as well as Google Maps.
Been using this app for a long time. I would like to see cardinal units come back for digital display. Also would like to see the Navigation buttons not turn white while using this app. Keep up the good work!
Amazing app. Had an S8 that would locate satellites but not connect to any. This app was able to show a side by side comparison next to a cell without problems and prove undeniably where the issue was in the S8. Highly recommend this app.
Great app. But I just found a bug. When I display my position using OSGB grid reference, displayed on single line, the figures show northing first, then easting. It should of course be the other way round. Output is in correct order when option to show on separate lines is selected.
Awesome app in every way. If only it had an odometer function (number of kms/miles traveled, reset to 0 when starting a new trip). With an odometer function, it would be the ultimate GPS app.
Excellent app rpwinkc clear and update GPS settings. Also allows the user to see all apps that have requested GPS access ap you can clear individual app caches or uninstall apps. Hopefully this app will clear up issues on Samsung Galaxy S8 plus.
Love the app. I would like to be able to upload GPX files. That would be awesome. Also there is a setting for UTM but displays and shares remain degrees.
I use this app frequently to get accurate information about GPS satellites and primarily for altitude information, it's quick and easy to use.
App performs reliably and from what I can see by comparing it with the GPS in my car, is very accurate. I once used it after changing tire size on my previous car, to see if my speedometer was still accurate; to determine approximate altitude while hiking in the mountains; and to give a compass heading when storm spotting. It's a very useful app to have on my device.
