Love the app, except for one thing. It says that my time difference is .467 seconds yet the Device time and GPS time seem to update on the screen at the same time with the same time value. I would like to see the true times for both of these values, as they should not be the same. I would also say that the time is out by about a second vs my Windows 10 time which is synced with the app being behind in time.
Not working as it said. It telling me that the current time is too far from what the gps give. The problem is that the tablet is mounted in the car and there is no battery. Any time when I start it i can't get sync tyme because the developer think that something is not correct. For me, better is to not disable that option.
The time error is always around 0,5 seconds when compared to any atomic frequency standard, even after granting root access for the synchonization. That is too much.
This app is useful, although they haven't updated the buttons. It reminds me of the Smasung Galaxy Prevail's buttons. The app is functional.
Simple to use, quick to acquire satellites, great little app.
Great app! please keep fetched time on screen when GPS signal gone.
Broken in newest version of Android. Asked dev for source to fix and he didn't want to
Nothing happens when trying to synchronize
Why does the App needs access to the call numbers?????
Linus brought me here.
Watching the display while listening to WWV indicates the displayed time is sometimes a second or so behind. I would have expected with the sub-millisecond accuracy of GPS, and the 3 decimal place display of the system - GPS delta, that the phase of displaying the time could be controlled such that I could for example use my Nexus 7 as a reference to set clocks around the house. Meh, maybe not.
If my phone freezes and I have to pull the battery and then put back and turn on my cell provider is slow updating the clock on the phone so this app does this fast. of course i can do this all manually but why when a great app like this exists! an no data plan required once its installed.
This app used to work on my tablet, but trying 0.6.3 it appears to only request Super User only after it attempts to sync. The app should request SU once, at app start, and keep it. There is a delay between an app requesting root and actually getting it, that needs to be taken into consideration. Please let me know when fixed. I use this app frequently. I don't always have service on my phone to always get network time, and I'm not always within wifi range either. It comes in handy to keep my phone's time updated and accurate. The only thing keeping it from being five stars for me, is that if my phone gets rebooted, the phone resets the time to or near about the unix epoch (1970). Unfortunately without an initial setting via cellular or wifi , it will not set the date and time if it is too far off from the real time (some set number of seconds/minutes). If this could be corrected to allow it to correct the time even when the phone thinks that the date is 1970, or at the very least show the full GPS date and time, it would be perfect for me and warrant 5 stars. Otherwise, it's still an awesome app.
I used to use this app a lot, but it no longer opens with Android version 8.0. GPS Test does the same job anyway.
Setting the time doesn't work on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with LineageOS. I have granted it all permissions (including root). Also, you could maybe let the screen update more often as that would be handy to update the time manually. Please fix this.
Paid version thar synchs on a schedule or when gps is turned on via other means would be very nice and would gladly pay 1.99 for it.
Will not set time on rooted Transformer. Popped up a suspicious ad. Uninstalled. NTP is easier and quicker.
This app will read the time difference but will not set it unless you have rooted your phone. If you do not know what rooted means, you have not done it and this app will not set your clock.
GPS clocks are about 17 s ahead due purposely ignoring leap seconds. This app simply reports GPS time, which is not useful.
Can count on it. But if you combine it with the beautiful interface and alarm clock simular to "squarenotch" app (best of alarm clock apps), and I will count on this app in 100% not missing the appointments while changing time zones and Android messing up with automatic time sync. Would pay for it if it had alarms feature.
Yes, you need to have root access, because Android doesn't allow automatic clock updates otherwise.
I'm using this app because the time provided by my phone company is often 15-20mins out. It's simple and very useful but would be even better if it worked automatically, for example synching the time once per day (if the phone can see any satellites).
Great app, i wish it could use an external GPS such as Garmin GLO for higher accuracy.
This nice small app is an enhancemence to my rooted Samsing Galaxy Note (N7000 with ICS 4.0.3). Very easy to use. Best of all, the developer is generous enough to have a choice to disable ad, even before purchasing. Thanks for that!
Simple and concise. If you want to set time via GPS this is all you need!
I'm not sure how accurate this app is. I always find it slow compared with an actual GPS clock. If it was off by exactly a second then I'd think it's a leap second issue but it's always slow by half a second or so. So not sure how reliable it is. Same when I compare with a clock synched to an atomic clock using NTP. Still slow
