Grand cinemas is great. Just use the website. This app is ok for seeing session times, but lacking in regards to claiming vouchers from RAC and membership linking/information.
Update: think auth server or app server must have been down; dropped into box office & all sorted thanks. Still find the app a bit lacking & flaky with membership at times & I've never worked out if/how to use alert/notifications wishlist of upcoming movies which I think is touted as a feature. Anyway ok/ish. PS to the reviewer that says it needs a separate a/c - no it doesn't, web a/c can be used but as my experience shows maybe synch with auth/membership might be a bit dodgy. Original 2/5 - Flawed & irksome. Would not recognise a Platinum card renewal. Tried clearing cache, no better. Tried clearing data - now won't recognise login; uninstall/reinstall - same result. So no choice but to abandon it & book online & wear the superflous booking fee/s...
Every year I renew I have problems using the mobile app and having it update my membership making it useless. They have had plenty of time to fix these issues and asking in cinema for assistance is very hit and miss as most cannot help.
Only because, there are a few cosmetic updates that need attention... But that did not hinder my comfort or the movie.
The cinemas themselves are great however the app is not. Several times I've tried to login via the app & never let's me, but when I go to their website I never have a problem. I have a platinum card & I know I'm entering all details correctly. I even did a password reset just to be sure. App does not work for members. PLEASE FIX!!!
Using this app on my phone, Grand Cinema 'isn't allowed' to scan the member details to apply membership discount for ticket sales or candy bar, but is more than happy to scan my phone to process tickets purchased on the app. The app itself is ok to use, but the company needs to re-evaluate how they deal with members who use the app over carrying another dumb card around. Come on Grand Cinema, it's the 21st century and your app can't be used in your own cinema!? That's a dumb rule in my opinion!
Not ideal, black screen no picture but sound, no one came near us, for over 12 mins, people when out, promised to rewind film, never happened, film came on screen after about 23minutes & continued. Should gave been handled better by some other than young staff. Not there problem.
Last Updated 11th July and stil $#¡t uninstalling. Very Poor design - Unintuitive. Download today, would love to log in ... Forgot my password and there is not option to reset password. If there is, it is not on the login screen where you would expect it to be. If it is expected I am to go to the Grand Cinema web site to reset my password (again - poor design). An " I've forgotten my pasword" link/option would be appreciated. Galaxy S8+
The new seating & choices of cinema options to choose from is excellent. I have used the new app to order online with my platinum card is certainly the easiest method of payment with no line waiting during peak opening times. Everyone should have the app.. Dean & Lefki
great app besides the fact for 3 years I have never been able to link my grand card to the app. Therefore always having to buy my tickets in person, usually no problem, but end game is selling out like crazy so now I need I have to waste fuel just to reserve my seat. FIX THIS PLEASE
No major issues. easy to use. little disappointed I have to pay a service fee for booking online....but overall great experience.
Difficult to navigate. Renewed and paid for the grand card and takes days to accept and give me access to the app again. Disappointed.
Doesn't really do anything you can't already do on the website. I thought this app might keep a digital copy of my grand card so I don't need to carry the card on me. Maybe a suggestion? Also would be good to be able to see what member benefits I have available left to use.
Didn't receive the tickets via email like I was expecting so I could send them to a friend. Also because I booked on a tablet and not a phone it was quite cumbersome to take to the movies.
I still have to print tickets from the counter,No point of having application. Can Improve on this, and more suggestions- can by/order popcorn or drink online with this app and pick up when there:)
Honestly I personally have never had a bad experience here at the end of the day I'd rather go to grand cinema then be pushed around with over populated place keep up the good work
Easier on the PC to book tickets. Pity it doesn't email receipts , just in case my phone dies while I'm arriving at the cinema.
Easy and efficient
Friday there are qs to candy bar at 830 and you are training staff ..been in line waiting for 20 minutes ..at this rate will miss the movie..whose idea is it to train a new staff at a peak time!!
App is poor can't sign in to your account to get discount so end paying more only things I can use is time's and what's on I recommend paying for tickets at the cinema
The app won't let me log in to my account. Checked on the website and logged in just fine.
App still not working. Bought new grand card but app says expired card. My account says expires Dec 2021.
Won't let me log in, checked my details on the website and it works but not on the app!
App doesnt allow me to login, can login on desk top but not through app.
Great app, lets me see all mivie times and i can buy tickets on it, no lining up
So quick and easy and convenient, no queuing, love it!
easy to use app, able to plan ahead and get tickets early
easy to use, like swipe between days and sessions.
Requires creation of an app account, separate to existing Grand Card account. Requires credit card details to be saved to app account before use. App passwords can't be longer than 10 characters (not secure). Most importantly: APP DOES NOT HAVE A PRIVACY POLICY. Adapptor (developer) could be doing ANYTHING with our data. The all has come a long way since it was just a container for their mobile website, but it's still lacking in some basic infrastructure.
