I spent months battling with zoiper and exchanging 70+ emails with zoiper support because because it wouldn't stay connected to my accounts. I finally have up and tried gs wave and app far it seems to be working fine. It had stayed connected and my calls work. I just don't like the interface much, so it's loses a star for the design.
The app is good overall. but I am having an issue with incoming calls. If the phone is in idle, I am unable to answer an incoming call. The screen comes up but neither the Answer nor the Reject button has any effect whatsoever. This is really inconvenient, particularly when receiving calls from corporate number extensions, as it is impossible to know who is calling.
Overall, great - BUT: not sure what is wrong with using headsets (wired and bluetooth). When I call, the other parties invariably hear very choppy voice. Tested between my own phones - indeed, my voice cuts in and out, BUT ONLY when I use a headset. I have 2 wired headsets and 2 bluetooth ones, same result with all 4 on 2 different Android phones. Tried most settings - echo cancellation, tried microphone boost, tried all codex, no luck. As soon as I go back to using the handset and "ditch" the headsets - no problems. Any ideas?
Absolutely love this app. It just works. I have been using it to connect to my FusionPBX server at home for a few years now and it just works. It handles all the standard and advanced SIP functions available on the PBX. I also love the fact that it supports provisioning via a config file. I haven't tried it yet but will soon. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a free VOIP Softphone.
I am experiencing problem since update, that there is no notification on incoming calls! End of the incoming calls are shown in missed calls log (My Android is 7. 0/MIUI 11.0.2 Stable) . Hope Grand stream will look into this. - Actually it is a better app than others compared with features like multiple SIP accounts, call transfer, forward, BLF, DND etc. I am using this app since 2017.
Not what I expected. Along with the Voiply system not a good combination right now lots of improvements are needed. More recently some of my colleagues started using the Voip+GS they like it, so I'm going one star to a three-star review for now. they are having hard time setting up though. I will say that there is a lot to this combination of the grandstream and the Voiply Service. I have used other systems, they be easier to set up, but don't work nearly as good as Voiply co does need help!
After trying five different SIP clients on Android, I recommend Grandstream Wave. It is light but very feature-rich and appears reliable (so far). Unfortunately, it doesn't recognize SIP addresses in Google Contacts. However, contacts' information is accessible within the app. Also, it is necessary to register (activate) a SIP account in the app's settings in order to place a call through that account. This is very inconvenient and tedious for SIP accounts that are only used for outbound calls. There is also a limit of 6 SIP accounts (registered and unregistered combined).
Great App. Works well with bsnl wings. But there is a most annoying thing , the app disconnects and showing registered failed to SIP most of the times and i am missing many calls. It happens mostly while switching networks ( 4G to wifi ). Checked online and many users are complaining the same issue. Developers please address this issue ASAP.
I have a Mi A2 lite. The app was working fine with 2 different service providers when I had Android One on 9. There was a recent update to 10 that broke the app. Accounts register but cannot dial out. I think incoming calls might be getting a busy signal. I have an older Xiaomi phone with MIUI 9 that still works. I'm guessing there are plenty of phones out there with 10 so I'm not going to fault Grandstream. But I can't give it 5 stars cause it's broken in my main phone. And it was working very well before the update.
Rather annoying that app keeps starting by itself even though I've marked the setting not to start on boot. Only way to shut it down is force close it. Support doesn't appear to exist as the email address listed here has an auto response. Disappointing.
I'm using this at home with sipgate and it seems to work great, call quality is very good and the UI is pleasent. This was the only sip client that worked out of 5 I tried out from the play store. I had to uninstall and reinstall it as it wouldn't dial out or keep registered with sipgate first time but has not had any issues since. 4 stars because it drains the battery quite fast, but I think most sip clients probably do. Highly recommended.
I closed app and it relaunches. It eats battery. When you go from one cell tower to another the app unregisters. The interface is clunky. I can't think of one good thing about it. When I can make calls there is a delay at the beginning of the call.
I am having problems on 2 mobiles with the app not ringing at all when anyone calls. Cant even work out your support options to know what option to select for help. Your email address doesnt offer any support other than the website that doesnt give an option for the average app. Please help as it's making the app totally useless to me. Dont bother downloading as other people are having issues with the same thing.
crashes? installs fine and starts fine. i can even make calls abd all is good BUT the app completely shuts down (stops running) after a short time with no notification. Obviously no calls can be received when the app stops running completely with no background processes. so thus app us worse than useless as you're set up to miss calls and be oblivious that anyone was calling. Other apps don't have this problem.
Working remotely I need my extension to work at home. There are times when I'm out in the field and need to call clients as well as the office. When connected to my wifi at home or even at the office, the app works for what I need it for. However, on a public 4g network, the damn thing doesn't connect. I have 2g, 3g, and 4g checked off in the settings, yet still no connection. What am I missing?
I like this app, but it hasn't been updated in ages and has some problems: 1. Registrations stop working randomly every few days. Force-stop and starting the app fixes it, but it's really troublesome. 2. NAT detection needs improvements. It doesn't distinguish when the SIP server is in/outside the NAT. I can't just disable NAT detection because the phone moves between them. 3. Audio quality isn't so good (could be my phone's fault).
It would be an ok app if the poxy thing didn't keep opening after exiting almost everytime you use any other app, Facebook, games, Sky and BBC news etc. Needs some work I feel! Please stop your crappy app opening just because you're using another on your phone! It even opens when you open up the playstore! Absolutely useless! Buggy as well, I find when you go out and loose your wifi connection the account won't reconnect on return. Registration failed...not very impressive.
Having tried to re-do the settings on line, I resorted to contacting customer service AND through a process of un-installing, re-installing and re-entering and/or changing settings FINALLY got the app up and running! Glad it is working but it just shouldn't have been that complicated!
Very useable app, has replaced my desk phone when I am not in the office. Allows users to utilize call forwarding and "see" the other SIP users status. I direct calls to forward to my cell phone as the bluetooth headset is more functional. Only downside- the reason I gave 4 stars- is that connectivity can be finnicky sometimes.
Either the best of the Free VoIP phone apps, or it doesn't work on your phone/carrier well. Ring-u supports it as autoconfig via a QR code, and for most customers it's awesome. Caveats are some of the carriers use CGN/Nat rules or the OS has issues. It's the first VoIP soft phone to try in all cases, and if it works it's awesome. If you need crazy options, Zoiper.
No inbound audio from ANY SIP server on a Galaxy Note 9 or 10. Outbound audio works (the other person hears my voice) but no inbound audio at all (I can't hear them even though they can hear me) even on the same network as the SIP server with no NAT involved. Tried Asterisk, FreePBX, 3cx on premise, 3cx hosted, and a handful of other SIP accounts. No incoming audio with any of them. Also, all Codecs show good upload bandwidth (such as 68k for PCMU), but zero for download bandwidth during a call.
The Bluetooth never works. If I make the mistake of touching the app while driving it breaks everything. Music stops connecting, my other phone apps can't answer the calls as grandstream has taken priority. Honestly the worst app I have ever used and they even build quality phones so it makes no sense.
Missing calls after the last update, getting voice messages without any missing calls (did not have such issues with previous versions). Also switching to the app is much much slowly than it was. Annoying pho e number autocomplete. Hope you can revert all these destructive changes.
Incoming calls are not getting terminated even within same network for many users. Purpose of IP doesn't solve then. Aim is to take advantage of mobility which doesn't serve purpose. App should be compatible with Android phones. IPhone doesn't work at all.
For some reason it fails to register when connected to LAN over wifi (split horizon scenario). Does the app has a dns server hardcoded instead of using the one supplied by dhcp? Outside of the LAN it seems to work only intermittently. Connecting to Asterisk PBX.
Dose not work well. Don't install app, many issues with call coming in, tested it by calling it with my mobile 90% of the calls do not come in. Don't forget although this is a service thats runs on your Internet connection, most WiFi networks calls wouldn't be able to connect. (Its not like Google voice) its totally not reliable
I have been using this app for last 6 months. It was working fine but for last few days I am facing a problem with incoming calls that whenever we receive a call there is popup shown in the notification that its ringing but phone doesn't ring until we click on that notification. I would appreciate if you will resolve this issue at the earliest.
