This is a good app when it actually works most of the time it freezes constantly and when I tried to call customer service to talk about it freezing and not giving me proper updates they said that it was a problem with my phone and not with the app however since then I have had my phone problem shooted 2 times and each time the customer representative said that it wasn't a problem with my phone it was a problem with the app. This app has serious glitches.
I need someone from this company to respond to my emails. The app is complete garbage. I have called, twice, and was told the app would be "synced" & for me to log out for an hour, then log back in. The new "updated" app is still NOT working. I'd give ZERO stars, if I could. Does not show when my Mom is "out & about". I have sent FOUR EMAILS, with NO RESPONSE. FOUR.
This has been the best thing I could have gotten for my dad. He has gotten very sick quickly and falling all the time and forgetting his phone in the car or at home. But with the belt clip and necklace strap to wear he always has his lively box. With the fall detection and the fact the lively people can contact us if anything happens to him is awesome. And the GPS and alerts when he is leaving and back home. And the GPS allows us to see exactly where he is at and get directions to him 24/7.
First time opening the app after installing it works. Logged into account and everything works but the next time opening app gets stuck on blank white screen. Reinstalled app multiple times same issue. Please fix this bug!
For the most part it works. However some times it does not have accurate info or will not open Lively tells me it's my phone. However, Of my contacts who have different cell Co's they can't open either and that's 3 different cos. So that ans is BS
Worked well at first, but keeps getting errors. I'm my morher's guardian, so this app would be extremely useful if it worked like it's supposed to. I'm also the primary emergency contact in her account, but the app has never let me do any of the advanced features because it says I don't have permission from the account holder. Called GreatCall and they said everything was set up in the account correctly, just uninstall and reinstall. That didn't do a thing. Still constant error notifications.
It isn't working on my Android pie phone at all. I didn't receive a notification that my elderly morher used the device a week ago. Half the time it doesn't sync (even though the app says it does). I sometimes can't get updated information on the battery or my mother's whereabouts for as long as a month. And then it mysteriously begins working again. And it doesn't have an advanced notification setting that allows you to override Android's "do not disturb" setting. It isnt reliable at all.
Would be perfect if you could have customs questions, such as, did you charge your phone today? A lot of people with these phones are seniors and/or have dementia, so basic things like remembering to charge can be a challenge. Also, the app notifications do not work. For example if the phone leaves the home area, I am supposed to get an alert but I do not. And yes, everything in the settings is set appropriately.
Have had the device and app for about a week. App started crashing on day two and has crashed multiple times since then. After reading reviews it looks like I will continue to be disappointed as well as furious because I bought this plan mainly because of the GPS as my father lives in a different city. App is useless if it doesn't work !
App keeps popping up over any/all other things on my screen with the message "Great Call has stopped. Close app. Send feedback. This happens even when the app is not open and at random times. I have a galaxy S8. Spent HOURS on phone with very nice customer service people trouble shooting over the course of a month. Tech couldn't figure it out and told me it was MY phone with the problem. Googled it earlier & know that's not the case. Android users don't get this app. Made for iphones!
I have read the list of issues recently listed. I have been having these (all that are listed) same issues going on over a year now. I have contacted great all and gone through many options all only worked temporarily. I love the idea of this product and it worked great when I first got it for my dad but it has been very disappointing since especially for the monthly price we are paying. I really wish we could get some helpful solutions that last and not the same responses every time we have to call. I am having the same issues right now but decided to write this instead of trying to call and being put on hold spending time when there has not been a solution that consistently worked
Over all pretty good. The device did show leaving the apartment twice over the last year when they actually had not. It also did not report a fall after seeing them move back up which they did. However they laid themself back down slowly due to the pain and just laid there for awhile not wanting to push the button and bother anyone. A voice follow-up could have helped the situation. Especially if they had gone unconscious. Parental retraining has taken place on our side as well.
App used to work great. I haven't received updates in about 6 months. It's useless at this point. Makes me question if my mom's device is really working or just a dummy button providing false sense of security. I keep getting notices the app is shutting down. From what I see here Great Call is quick with apologies but doesn't address the problem.
Please fix this app. I love the service for my grandma and think it's great but this app is just awful. It is so slow. Loads the updated info maybe once out of every 10 attempts. Crashes all the time. It's just really frustrating when the rest of the services are great. I bought it for the functionality to make sure she keeps it charged and I can rarely get that info. I live in nyc and my grandma lives in another state. She doesn't use a cell phone so this service is essential. Fix please
Never gives alerts. Very buggy. Update 3/16/19 app stopped working yesterday and did not restart. Uninstalled and reinstalled but will not work at all. Won't open. Only option is to close out or send feedback which I've done dozens of times. Completely useless at this point. update 6.5.19 App keeps stopping and notice won't go away. Trying to type and it keeps popping up. Each update makes this app worse, not better! Still no notifications either.
Good then horrible! for the first 6 months this was a great app and working device, but when I really needed it to use it the app doesn't sync to the device which is not ok. They didn't send any information about this and in fact there last app was not good either but at least it works. The customer service reps are horrible and have no empathy. I would not recommend this product.
Very useful, I really appreciate a company that offers caregivers a notification service about the well-being of their loved ones. Sometimes the app doesnt always sync correctly with the handset but I found that powering off the device and turning it back on (near a window) allows for a stronger signal and the sync works again. For the Jitterbug Flip, I also noticed that after you power off and on the phone, it helps to check your phone usage so that it syncs successfully w/link.
The app states out and about, and that the unit is on the charger, simultaneously. Also only registers about 50% of the statuses, which states my LO has gone out but never returned home(unit on charger). This week due to that glitch their average trip was 21 hours? They go to the store and church... 2hrs max! Tried to contact support by email through app, response was cleared and returned to home page. The app has it's challenges... the button has operated w appropriate support when required.
