Please never buy this card if you need cash fast!! I think this is a scam. The card was unable to be registered. They told me that it has to be a half hour from purchase, yet after 1 hour, 3 hrs, 12hrs nothing. Then they said my signal wasn't strong enough to register on my 2 cells AND my PC. I checked back the next day still getting the error message "We are unable to validate card. Please try again later." They are telling me they can get a refund check in 2 weeks😡. Don't get scammed
This is an amazing App and easy to use plus you can receive notifications and emails and easily check your balance and transaction history and I am not usually good with many Apps and do not no how to use some plus it is cellphone friendly. You can contact customer service inside the App if needed. It has a vault too. I did have some serious problems with Them and others on their Fb page but I figured out how to resolve it but I think Administration should know what was done to protect others...
Meh... With all the overhead of setting up the card and app and verification you may as well get a real bank card. THAT process is so much easier and faster. I would only recommend a green dot card as a back up card if you are traveling internationally since these are accepted internationally like a real Visa card.
Run away from this company. This card may seem easy to use but they are never able to help fix anything. They never try any effort at helping problem solve. They take there slow time sending your personalized card out even when they know it is needed. It doesn't make a difference to call them cause nothing changes no matter the situation. Money was sent to me that I need to live off and I can't even get it cause I have to wait 10 business days for other card. Go to chine they would never do this
Probably the most frustrating and useless apps ever devised. I'm going with a competitor, this app refuses to work. Nor can I even access customer service. So far, the only thing it's done is steal $10 from me.
I think I might have gotten one notification of a time that I've spent money with the Green Dot card... In other words, I don't get notifications, and there have been organizations that have taken money out without my permission of any kind. Not to mention there's no phone number or support to get a hold of anybody (that I've seen) if you have a problem, and I do.
Would give a zero, if I could. The app itself seems fine, greendot and their customer service is a joke. I am waiting on a new card, I need my money and they will not let me to it. So my family gets to go hungry because they can not do their job. I will never, ever use greendot again and sway anyone that tries to use them, to find another option. This is definitely not an option for anyone, STAY AWAY FROM GREENDOT AT ALL COSTS!
Love this app and my card. The fees are not unreasonable or crazy high. The cash back is awesome but you can only access it once a year but I've done it 2x and each time it was worth 80$ and the second time it was 98$. On the app you can move money to savings or to checking as many times as you feel the need to do so. You can pay bills. Order online. Use just like any other visa card at atm stores or online get cash back you always can view all transactions. You can set up direct deposit.
Can't send or link bank accounts, unfortunately. The options are there but they don't work & customer service is non existent. Basically a good way to not carry cash with using a bank account I guess.
Update: still keeps telling me that I need to use the website and wont let me use the app. I have tried uninstalling, making sure it is up to date, checked my software, and I know my samsung s20 isnt that old to be not compatible with the app. I have seen I'm not the only one with problems, how about you guys fix your app? Previous experience: Keeps telling me I have to use the website and not the app. What's the point of the app if I have to use tge website?
The app is usable and fuctional. However the fees are pretty bad. I loaded 20 dollars on this card last weekend just to have a 9.95 service charge made to my account. I put money on my card for food and they took half of it. Do not recommend. It is 9.95, not 7.95 I have screenshots to prove it. So beware.
If I could give zero star review I would, this is literally the worst company ever! Got lied to, told I would get my money back after I asked to waver the fee I didn't know about and to wait 7 days and nothing said to me after, then after nothing happened i was told they couldn't waiver it and there's a maintenance fee even on a temporary card, even though I fully registered it. And even called to register it, Couldn't use the card or the phone app, im done, worst ever
Terrible. The app crashes half the time and customer service is terrible... barely speak english, so getting anything resolved is a hassle. My card was stolen and it takes 14 days for a new one to come in, but You have NO OTHER WAY TO ACCESS your money until the card comes in. They cant reactivate my old temp card, or tranfer money for me to another account. NOW months later, they want to say I can transfer $ at Walmart because the customer service people don't speak English well enough to help
It's a good app the monthly charges are a bit much even when you are not using it still the charges keep coming I didn't use it for a while and then I did and it took 20 dollars from what I deposited right off the flip. That's aggrivateing
ZERO STARS.The worst app Iv ever used. The constantly think they can keep my money from me and then the app won't load half the time I need it. One day I was at the mall I had to get stuff for my aunt's wedding and I had to fight on the phone with the main head guy for over an hour to get my money in my account that they took. Don't use them they are obviously using your money and replaceing it. I'm going. To be switching over this weekend. Don't trust them with you money.
Been with Green Dot for 5 years. Love the app, cash back feature and interest I make in my savings. They're changing and charging for withdrawals. Not thrilled with that at all.
In April 2022 my account had $4.80. I made a purchase for $2.50 for shipping and handling for a $500.00 Wal-Mart gift card. Suddenly my account was hacked talking all the money that was in my account causing an overdraft putting my account around $30.00 in the hole. Problem is when I go to my account there is no balance showing my account had $4.80! Someone deleted this somehow. This has happened more than once same situation no record of my account balance to show it! Resolve this issue immedia
I got two of these cards at a Max of $500 I put $500 on two cards at two different 7-Elevens and when I went to aggravate on neither one of them would activate now I'm stuck with no money and all they could do was start a case one of the stores I lost the receipt but it was just the night before that I purchased it but neither would give me a refund even the store that I had the receipt , the other 7-Eleven on Clearwater largo road told me that there's no way that give me a refund for $500
I absolutely HATE this card & the service. I won this card and in order to access the funds I had to give my personal information which I did not want to do. I contacted customer service who said "I did NOT have to give my personal information and they would transfer to a LIVE person to activate my card" they transferred me and guess what??? It was an automated service. I wanted to use my card so I gave in and gave my personal information OH, & on top of everything there's a $7.95 monthly fee
Ive been using this app and card for about four years and ive never had any issues.ive had three differnt phones and still no issues.i love this app.works perfect for me!
I have been a customer many years, received my replacement card an can't get it to activate. I've done everything I was told to do. An told I still couldn't be helped today. I certainly think after 48 hours something could be corrected. I wait patiently but I will use a new service after tomorrow. I am truly sad it isn't corrected. Maybe someone will help me Sincerely Patricia Metz
Only trouble with this is when you put your name and password in and have to switch to another phone or iPad it doesn't want to work without having to put your card info in every time.
I love green dot!! I've used them for over 5 years, any issue I've ran into they have taken care of immediately. Only thing I don't like is that my taxes both tried to deposit the same day & my federal was rejected because of 'too many DD in one day' I think that should be😉😘 looked into! 😘😉😉😘
I have an account with money on it but never received a card. I cannot get access to transfer funds from the app or my phone. So now my money is sitting on there and I cannot get to it and it's slowly being drained away by monthly fees. Very frustrating.
The app is terrible. It crashes every time I try to use it. I can never get on to see my purchases or anything that is going on with my card and bank. I have to try to get ahold of them and that's like pulling teeth. Just try to get a human on the phone. Good luck. I'm ready to get rid of it.
Pretty useful and convenient, but PLEASE educate yourself about all the fees they charge. You're charged fees when you use your card for debit and credit purchases. When you check your balance from an atm. When you have to call their toll free number. If you dont sign up for electronic statements You're charged. Etc. Read the fine print.
