One of my favorite apps. Works great. It's got timers, clocks, alarms, push notifications, profiles, settings, adjustments... GMG is really onto something special. The design, the accessories, the fact that it does an outstanding job. I'm trying to keep this review about the app, honest. Simple, Intuitive and consistent. Discount the bad reviews as I imagine they're all user error related. UPDATE: When it works, it's pretty nice but sometimes it doesn't work. I'd like to retract my review.

My overall experience is great. However lately it keeps deleting my profiles. I did however find them in "Internal Storage/Documents" for anyone else that this has happened to. This is a inconvenience, but I still like the app better than others.

I went to add it to my home network and now I cant even find the GMG network anymore so the app is useless. I did call tech support once and I was told to shutoff my mobile data settings and try to connect thru my home network but it just kept failing so I have to keep resetting it to the factory settings. Very disappointing. Ive already wasted the entire afternoon. I'll reset it one more time and I'll have to use the factory settings or go back to the Weber grill. ☹️

Used to work great. Last 6 months or mo re e it will not go to wifi mode no matter how many times I try to restart the process. App is worthless and now the wifi feature of the grill is worthless

Most recent app and grill update broke everything. Can't get it to connect at all anymore! Literally almost makes my grill useless. Tough to do a long cook without the app.

Works once then has to uninstalled and re download for another uses. This is everytime it is used.

Would be nice to be able to see food temperature from the lock screen, other than that app is very good. The above was for older version. Since update 3months ago it is near impossible to connect. Have to forget Wi-Fi, reconnect with password and then when the no internet access warning comes up you have to choose stay connected, this has to be done every time you initiate the grill. And it doesn't automatically locate the correct Wi-Fi network like it previously did. Please fix connectivity

I work for a company who is a dealer for GMG and have used tech support several times, but continue to have issues with the app. I have a Daniel Boone Prime & Davey Crockett. I can connect to each of them and adjust temperatures just fine. All the sudden, the app deleted all 15 of my profiles and defaulted to the factory profiles. Also, it will also not allow Server mode, says it can't detect the network. The app used to work correctly, half worthless now. I have done all updates.

Had to manually grant file permissions. Once that was done, I could save profiles. Sometimes it won't turn the grill on while on the same home network. I can get around that. Love being able to set a profile and just let it run. Support has been pretty good. All in all, good app, not perfect. Would like arrows to set the temp in addition to the slider and typing in the temp. Cannot acknowledge notifications. Kill the app. Nope, still there. Force stop the app. Nope still there. Little annoying.

Great app. With this you don't have to be next to the grill if you need to make a temperature change. You can also "set it and forget it" with the profile option. My only critique is when setting the temperature there is a slide bar. It's very difficult to get the temperature exactly right. The developers should add + and - buttons to adjust by one degree to fine tune it.

Easy to use. I like the App BUT they have server issues. I have not been able to grill through server mode (remotely) for two weeks. Timer alarm could be better, on my pixel it just gives one buzz and that is it. I am going to try it with the phone off silent next time to see if it is better. Update: Original issues were fixed but the grill still looses server very often, it always seems to loose connection when you actually need it. WiFi mode always seems to work. Smoker is amazing,

The app has made smoking and cooking, in general, extremely easy. The only improvement, that I see imperative, is having a refresh function. When walking out of range, I have to disconnect, and reconnect to the grill's network, to check temps. This is the only reason I give it 4/5 stars.

Wifi cooking has forever changed the way I will grill. The idea of automatic programs make it so easy to smoke food that anyone can do it. It's phenomenal! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is the server cooking (connecting it to my cell phone data so I watch it while I leave my house... run to the store, or watch it while I'm at work/church) only works about 50% of the time. Otherwise great app.

So far so good. Wish the recipies in the app were downloadable profiles too. Looks like you can share profiles...cool. Wish you could set a notification sound for profile steps / alarms. Also I don't recall the app asking permission. For local storage, once I manually granted it permission the profile changes were able to save. Cant get server mode to work...not sure why...

Great concept. When the app works, it works well. That is very few instances, however. Most of the time it won't connect or, if it does connect, it loses the connection halfway through the cook. Server mode never stays connected. It would be fantastic if some actual development time was spent on this app in order to fix the issues.

I've installed and uninstalled this app 3 times now on my Samsung note 8. I never get a prompt to connect to my wifi. It doesn't find my grill so I can't use it. Others seem to have similar issues. It would be a great benefit to use it since I know it's promoted as a feature and it's built into the price. Discouraging

Notifications are useless. I get notified about static temperatures constantly, and each time the temperature goes up or down. It is a useless notification. I want to be notified once when a determined temperature is reached. I want to get notified when a step of a profile is started and completed. I want a special notification when the internal temperature reaches its goal. A notification when the grill is 10 degrees plus or minus of the set temp would be nifty. I do not want to be notified over and over and over that the grill temp is 252 degrees, for the 8 hours of a cook time. Aside from that glaring flaw, I am very pleased with the app. Great control of the grill with profiles. Easy to set up profiles. I have not had issues with Server Mode at all. So kudos on that, A graph of meat temp would be nice, but I think the notifications really need to be resolved first. Fix the notifications issue, and I will change my rating. -- Update, here we are a full 24 hours later, the grill has been off for 18 hours, and I am still getting notification from the app that the grill is 94 degrees. The app knows the grill is off too.

works well in point to point communication. i have used server mode a few times amd really like the feature to be able to leave the house and still have it cook without my wife having to make adjustments when i am not there. only had an issue once with server where it stopped communicating and needed to rest the device when i got back home. overall a pretty tight app! i wish though it had more built in recipes and profiles in the app. Paint has been peeling off on the new Prime Grill not happy!

It's a great feature to be able to connect to a grill and control it from your cell phone, I have no problem connecting to the grill's wifi, but seldomly does the app actually connect to the grill, I've tried starting and stopping app, resetting my phone, reinstalling app and using another device. It works maybe 20% of the time; disappointing because it's the primary reason I went with this grill.

Won't connect! this is absolute garbage! I bought this girl over the Traeger specifically for Wi-Fi mode just over two years ago. I can never get it to connect to my home Wi-Fi I've tried it three different homes now and now I have my router 10 feet away from my grill and I still can't get it to connect. Customer service used to be fantastic but now I just get sent to a voice mail box that is full! Done the tutorial and resets a thousand times and still can't get it to work.

Wifi connecting through the app is very temperamental!!! Might not even be the word for it, cause half the time it doesn't connect at all no matter how many times I try. I'm giving three stars cause i love the grill other than the wifi capabilities. Pretty disappointed about the Wifi problems and lack thereof wifi. It was one of the biggest selling points about the grill I loved, but not being able to use it is very frustrating!!! I hope GMG fixes this quick!!!

The notifications won't stop chiming and I have turn all notifications off. This is a problem for when I do long overnight cooks and need to be alerted of temp change or low pellets. I had no problem with the ios version of this app. I've messed around with the in app notification settings and they do nothing. I actually have to get into the notification settings on my phone just to shut it off.

The app is okay, but it needs work. Samsung Note 9, app doesn't shut down properly; must 'force stop' it or restart my phone to shut it down. Also, my DB grill has two food probes, but the app only displays one temperature. And when i set the food temp alarm, it either didn't go off or didn't keep going off, and I overcooked the food I had on the smoker. Wi-Fi smokers are surprisingly useful, but this app doesn't quite fully leverage the potential of the feature.
