Green P

The newest release of Toronto’s only official “Green P App” from the Toronto Parking Authority makes it easier than ever to pay for parking. Now Available FOR ON-STREET PARKING and at all non-gated, off-street carparks. Get on the future fast track, without having to fumble for change or wait at the machine. You can set up your profile and pay using your PayPal Account or credit card.
Not only can you pay for your parking, but the Green P App will tell you when your parking time is going to expire and let you “top-up” your time if you need to.

Use either a credit card or your PayPal account to pay for parking. You can use an existing PayPal account or set up a new one from the app– it’s another great way to pay for parking on the Green P app.

The Green P App makes it easier than ever to find the perfect spot at Green P carparks all over the city. The Green P Locator allows you to search for carparks by current location (GPS), location ID, address, or landmark.

Look for the Location ID on the posted hour of operation signs on-street or on the Pay & Display machines, and on Mobile Pay signs throughout Green P carparks to determine its availability.

Worst update. I used to use this app all of the time, especially the search functionality. It was easy to type in an address and find parking nearby. When the app actually manages to find the address, the map doesn't automatically move to show your search results so you have to manually navigate to it. It doesn't show what your search address is so you can see where the parking results are in reference to it. There are other things wrong with it but the loss of that is so disappointing.

The old version of this app was boring, but worked perfectly. The new version is pretty but incredibly aggravating to actually use. The stupid slider never gets to the place you want it to, the extension feature doesn't actually work, it takes three times as long as the old one did to do anything. TLDR bring back the old version please.

It has issues.... It will play an audible sound when a parking session expires even when my phone is on do not disturb. I checked the settings and it doesn't have permission to do this. I also dislike how you can't cancel a parking session once you leave the spot. I don't need to have an audible alert when said session expires when I've already left the area

Worst upgrade ever. Please return to the original. Sliding scale for time is a zero. Hard to read, unclear in regard to maximum time. No way of clearing the notification after the vehicle has left the spot, bad (especially when the session expires at midnight). Font is smaller. Takes much longer to load than the original.

Okay, time for a new review. They've started updating this app unnecessarily. First they made the UI slow and clunky. Instead of just typing the parking lot in, you have to "search" for it, but does it work right away? No, absolutely not. Then, you select your vehicle. Instead of choosing from a list (I manage the company vehicles) you now have to side scroll through a list of truncated names. Absolute rubbish. Now, they changed the icon from an easily recognizable, literal, "Green P" to whatever bologna blue square thing. But hey, there's no use in complaining because there is no other way to pay for most parking in this city. If you need a "how to" video in order to park, it's too complicated.

This new version of the app is complete garbage. Nothing works properly. My credit card is correctly entered on the app and yet it will not auto refill my card.. and it won't allow me to make a payment to reload. Also, your options buttons at the top of the screen are cut off? How am i supposed to see anything. Do yourselves a favor and return this app to the old version where everything worked properly.

This new version is a joke, like some zoomers decided to show off some Dan Flashes coding moves but made things more complicated for no reason. Can't end a session early to avoid the jingle blaring through your phone when your parking expires (though I appreciate the boost in volume compared to the ninja-quiet way the previous version let your session expire without enough of a heads up) so if you leave your spot at 4 PM, you're still getting a shocking song at 6. Laggy, and the slider is bad!

Sliding bar for time is confusing and too sensitive, hard to get it to stop on the time I want. So much white space with very tiny icons, really hard to press some, including the map and account icons and tiny keyboard to enter parking area #. Where are the settings? With the old app I could set up notifications how I liked, now those options aren't there so I had to just turn notifications off together in my phone settings. Also quick park? Cant choose what goes there, it just put a random one

New version is awful. No idea how this could've possibly been approved. The UI/UX are both terrible and counterintuitive. Notifications are broken. The old app was bad too but now it's a whole new level of bad. Are they just going with the cheapest person on Fiverr? Or maybe the goal is to make an unusable app so people don't bother trying to pay for parking - thus receiving a ticket (paying more to the city). Is this app just the city playing 5D chess for more revenue? If so, well done.

This app used to be quick and useful. I could find parking fees for any site, for any day of the week, for any hour of day, simply and directly. Now, the app is just full of UI gimmicks that do not improve any aspect of any user use case. Want to find parking fees for a numbered site? Can't do it unless you tell it you *will* park there. Oh! And it still won't show you what the fees are on any other day, so you can't plan ahead. Utter garbage.

Worst app for people living in the city of Toronto or commuting in, its designed in such a way that you'll get charged every time. Parking enforcement just lurks on every corner to slap you with tickets and this app does not allow flexibility of payments or automatic repayments. if you have to travel in the city avoid cars or everyone car pool and park where every you want and split the ticket.

Was a great little app, did exactly what you needed, reliable and super clear UI. New version is over complex, hard to manage tasks through and the UI looks like a prototype that isn't scaling to the screen size properly. Can we have the old version back please.

Joe. C. Apr 20, 2022

Garbage. Be ashamed of yourselves for putting this out there. Is there no testing involved before they update this app. Seriously disappointing, worked perfect before. Now I lose internet the moment I enter the app. Nothing works in it. If I could give negative stars I would, just bring back the old version, and fix bugs. I don't care if it looks 'pretty' I just want it to actually work!

The address search does not work well, the previous design did it better. When the user searches for an address, you should show the map with an indicator of address they searched, and display the results on the map and again in a list in the lower half of the screen.

Omg. Was this a make work project fir someone bored at the city?? The update is absolutely horrible. The old version worked seemlessly. It took me 20 minutes to reacquainted myself with a confusing and cumbersome new version. It is glitchy as well. Kept sending updates to my phone for 2 days saying I was running out of time...I had only purchased 1 hour of parking. The icon is terrible as well and has no relevance to the actual branding of Green P. Brutal.

The new version is horrible. Not sure why the significant changes as the previous one worked great. The new version is not user friendly and the interface is confusing and complicated. Selecting time frame is a challenge as the slide is too fast, the notifications still appear days after the parking has expired and won't clear, the task requires more time and focus. Its easy to make mistakes and pay more time. I'm sure I will end up getting a ticket as the app is not user friendly.

Sam. S. Mar 5, 2022

This app used to be extremely user friendly and functional but since the most recent update it has been nigh unusable. The new interface is needlessly complicated and over-designed and has caused me to get at least one parking ticket. The sliding bar for selecting how long you want to park is very unintuitive and unclear and overall this app has become more of a burden than a convenience. I will be going back to paying for a physical ticket at the Green P machines

Different from most recent reviews, I think the new app looks great, the visuals are much more modern, with helpful device notification that show even the time left. The only real problem is the notification sound when there's 10 minutes left is buzzing even when your phone is muted. The device preference should be respected. I've had the app disturbing when I should be in a quiet environment. If this is fixed, I'm def gonna update this review.

Nad. D. Apr 15, 2022

Recent update is not user friendly or intuitive. It was a lot more practical to have a list of all vehicles and frequently used lots immediately at a glance, as in the previous version of this app. The scrolling timeline is also frustrating and unecessary, especially if parking and fees are measured/calculated in mininum increments and not in single minutes. It's hard to be accurate scrubbing through the moving timeline and I ended up paying for more time than I needed.

Nad. C. Mar 30, 2022

The update is absolutely terrible. And completely unnecessary when the original, though dated, was more user friendly and faster. This version is very delayed, awkwardly set up, and requires more steps to book parking. Notifications for parking that is ending are ridiculously loud and go off even if the phone is on silent. Not sure who thought that was necessary at 6 am.

Pet. S. Mar 9, 2022

I knew when I saw this app had an update it could only mean bad things. The old app was surprisingly great. It worked. What more do you want? Naturally, they ruin it with a sliding scale that is difficult to pick the exact time you want and worse they have an INSANELY obnoxious ringtone notification when you're time is almost up that plays even if you set your phone to silent and sound off. How is that even allowed on Android? Reported the app because it seems to override my OS specifications.
