Ive had 2 instances where the app loses connectivity to the thermostat. The first time all I had to do was uninstall then reinstall the app. This time I had to rerun the network setup on the thermostat. I've never had any issues before these 2 instances.
App updated, connection to my thermostats was lost, went to reconnect, and my model is not compatible with the app. So of course, it also unsynced them with my Google Home app. Of I wanted a manually controlled thermostat that I have to physically interact with, I wouldn't have spent the money on these smart thermostats. So for everyone else who was using the app with a Geo model, we're all SOL now.
Lost real-time widget with new app. Paused schedule while my mother was in hospital. Now it WILL NOT resume schedule. If power even flickers it disconnects from wi-fi and is near impossible to reconnect. Useless app if you have to manually adjust all the time because app does not work.
*12/9 Update: Statistics stopped working* 1 Star because they removed the live widget with the update. It was nice to be able to glance at my phone screen and see current temp and set temp at a glance. Now to have to open app and click 3 different buttons to see that info.
This doesn't seem compatible with a Google pixel 3 xl. My wife has an iPhone and a Samsung and it worked on both her phones. My pixel didn't work at all. Couldn't even get past the first stage of setup. It's weird because it says it's compatible with Google assistant so I assumed my Google phone would be compatible.
There is no information for this thermostat anywhere online or in the app that is of any real worth. The only way to figure out the operating controls for this thermostat is to Google search "Lux Kono" because that is the real name of the thermostat. Horrendously designed app, ambiguous directions, and nearly impossible operation without the proper guidelines. I'm just glad I got this thing for free.
September update is awkward to use and won't let me turn on my schedule with heat. Everytime I hit "play schedule" it resets to air conditioning settings. Please roll it back, the app was fine before.
The new app says my thermostat is offline, but thermostat shows its connected to wifi. Statistics screen is never updated. Old app interface and reliability was much better.
program crashes 90% of the time on my phone. if you just ignore it and touched the GUI you can change the temperature but still is frustrating.
Having this wi-fi thermostat is useless as it will not stay connected to my Wi-Fi, highly disappointed! I can get through all the steps of connecting it but it will not connect to the Geo cloud
I thought there could not be a worse thermostat than the Trane XL724 but I was wrong. What a piece of junk. I think I am actually going to put the Trane stat backup. What is IAQ in the fan selection? My fan does not run in the ON mode or the IAQ mode.
If I could give a negative 5 stars I would! Complete waste of purchasing a "SMART" thermonstat and 3 days trying to make it work. LUX technical support is RUDE and UNAWARE OF PRODUCT WIFI CONFIGURATION and WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE OF GENERAL NETWORKING, such as NAT. LUX has no documentation for the Geo internal webserver which is required to configure more complex wifi's such as those using WAN bridging for gateways or specifing specific DNSs. Only purchase a LUX if you have an unsecure wifi!
Update stinks. Very easy to use previously. Finding things like changing from heat to cool is like a scavenger hunt. Not a fan.
Thermostat and app will not connect to wifi. Schedule option is greyed out, so no way to set a schedule. Will be uninstalling this weekend.
Works better than kono lux app. reduces electric bill more than kono. and keeps house just as cool. don't know about heat as winter is not here yet. also it is more easy to connect to wifi.thermostat model is Gsquared (G2). Same as kono lux.
The app mode setup hangs and the wps setup tells you to register on the website but there is no place to register or add a tstat on the website. Maybe I phone app works
Terrible time trying to connect to the thermostat. Cant find any product instructions anywhere. Very unhappy with this thermostat.
Since the update it does not work anymore. It looks like I will be buying a different brand unless they roll the last version back out.
Not showing running time or temp anymore. I have tried to disconnect and pushed reset on back of thermostat.
Worked fine before. Now my air conditioning randomly switches to heat. You should have left the app alone!
Be great app… IF IT WORKED! Tstat connects to server but app can NEVER find. 50 attempts. Go back to drawing board
Keeps on going offline. What's the purpose of the app if you'll end up manually adjusting the temperature. 👎
Does not work. Forced upgrade and badly implemented. Bad programming. No improvement.
It's a joke. Sometimes it works and then it doesn't. Won't stay connected.
I am an IT professional and this application will not connect thermostat. Terrible support, documentation, website.
Always shows firmware is updating .... tried using reset, tried detaching from the wall, tried restarting the app, ... :-(
Was working great until a few weeks ago when it stopped being connected to the internet. Now I can't get it to reconnect. I get error code.
I installed app and just keeps closing. I've contacted Lux and haven't heard back.
Fairly simple to connect and set. Give it about 30 seconds to process the commands after you set them. I dont think the schedule tool is very easy to understand, and that's about the only thing you need internet for (besides the remote connection of course). I think I do understand it's current setup and set it to a desired warmth for specific hours and slide over to cool and adjust that, select to repeat every day that I want it and let it roll.
